  1. Happy New Year to you too, Daniel. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your build in 2018. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Happy New Year, Jesse. Lovely to see an update. I thought you’d forgotten us. ;-) Great work as always. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hi Michael, I believe the side gap is perfectly acceptable for basic clearance, possibly even EIB; however, if your aiming for Centurion, you would have to add shims. Check out some of the other builds on here where shims have been added. As you’ve already added the fittings to the ab and kidney plates, it might be a little more involved at this point. By the way, it looks like you’re doing a cracking job on your build! Looking good. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Such a lovely shape to the TM armour. Plus, you make a great job of putting it together. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi D’Angelo, You’ve got it right. Get your clearance from your Garrison, then obtain TK id. Then request ‘trooper status’ here at FISD and apply for EIB (Expert infantry) then Centurion. :-) It’s good to hear another trooper aiming for Centurion. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hi all, Finally got some natural light photos. As a rubber blaster for £85, I really can’t complain. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Good job, Andrew. Eyes look great. Can’t quite see where the ears meet the tubes, but they already look better. :-) Best of luck with your clearance. You’ve made a great looking set of armour. :-) [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Lol - I’ve seen worse... In fairness, the photos of this item are lovely, as in lighting, backgrounds etc. However, for that price you could have an army of good quality, self made troopers. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Superb mate! Well done. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Just to add to the SDS/Shepperton/originalstormtrooper topic, aside from the law suit and the claims made by said maker, the armour (in my opinion) is just not good enough for the money being charged. I work near their Twickenham shop and have had a good look, close up, at their armour displays. The way that they themselves build/construct the armour shows a serious lack of attention to detail: for example, rivets on the sniper knee, overlap rather than butt joints, strapping in the wrong places, wrong shape on the thigh ammo pack, a very oddly proportioned thermal detonater etc etc. Now, I’m not saying that we all use the exact methods as the originals as this is not always practical for trooping, however, there just seems to be a total lack of effort into making these even close to resembling the originals. Especially when you’re charging up to 3 times more than other makers, makers that make much more accurate armour. It’s a sad story to me - I bought an early stunt TK helmet from AA back in 2005. He seemed nice enough when I met him - so much so that I later bought the TK bust, Tie helmet and tie bust. I just think he got carried away with the ‘back story’. If the armour were a third of the price and the story was ironed out, I wouldn’t say it’s that bad. Just needs quite a bit of effort to make it more accurate. However, I’d still buy elsewhere from a supplier hat has put some love and creativity into what they make. :-) Speech over, and again, this is just my personal view point. :-)
  12. Fantastic - great to see another DD + T-Jay kit build. I’ll be following this with interest. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hiya, probably worth having a look here :-) https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/?page=42
  14. Ah, gotcha. Your last pics were still Silver - didn’t realise you’ve painted bits black. If you can, avoid sanding the main grip to show Silver. As it was made from black plastic, even if it got damaged, it would still show black. To my knowledge, there was no silver underneath. Same goes for the t-tracks on the front of the weapon. They were plastic strips stuck over the barrel holes. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Clear coats - I’ve not seen those done before. Won’t the grip still be Silver if you put a clear coat on? :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hi Tom, Merry Christmas :-) The Humbrol Metallic Silver that I used went on really well, if you’re looking for an alternative. Also, not sure what your final plans are but, I believe the grip for the sterling was plastic, so don’t worry too much about Metallic Silver on that part. A good gloss black will look the part. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Hiya, Erm, that’s a very expensive way to get some average armour. Are you looking to troop or put on a mannequin? Also, try the vetted vendors list on this site - it’ll give you a really good idea of what’s about and who to give your hand earned money too. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Wow - what an awesome predicament to be in! I started looking for TK armour back in the early 2000’s and the options were, “not a lot”, “pretty bad”, “slightly less-bad than the other one” etc. These days we have options as good as these!! I think you’ve picked two of the best options available (and done well to avoid one of the worst) and, from the builds I’ve seen, you won’t be disappointed with either. RS has the heritage and the full “worts and all” appearance, whereas TM is beautifully recreated with a slightly cleaner look (still amazing, but less bumps on the cap). I work near SDS and have looked up close at their armour. Erm, let’s not go there. ;-) If I were you, I’d be tempted to look at a few of the build threads on here for both makers and see if you prefer one over the other for people of a similar size and build to you. Daniel, aka “The Swede”, has already built a wonderful TM hero suit and is now working on a TM stunt. They’d be worth a look. Best wishes, Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Lovely job. Your armour fits you really well. [emoji1303][emoji1] Aside from the belt, the only thing I’d mention, and I’m not sure if it affects clearance at any level, is that your ears could be considered a little thick. If it were me, I’d be tempted to trim them a little. Great job, Trooper. And congrats on the baby. :-) [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Many congrats, David. What lovely Christmas gift. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Merry Christmas, Tony. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Looks like a super tidy build! Love the RS lids, too. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hi, NewTrooper. Good link from mr Woof. Once you know which character you’re going for, ie ANH/ESB/ROTJ hero or stunt Stormtrooper, sand trooper, shadow trooper etc., have a look at the relevant build threads. You’ll get a good ideal there of which armour you might prefer. :-) Welcome aboard. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
