  1. Welcome aboard, Dave. Starting a thread here is a great start. As others have said, ask plenty of questions as you go along - you’ll get lots of useful feedback on here. :-) Regarding where to start, I’m another one that started with the arms pieces. Seems like a good starting point. :-) Do you have a tutorial or specific build thread that you’re following? Thankfully for me, my armour maker has created step by step tutorials on YouTube - if you have something similar it can be very handy to see the processes in video form. Best wishes, Dan
  2. Keep going, Frank. You’re getting there. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Great job, Simon!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I was only being silly, mate. It’s easy to do on Tapatalk. It was a perfectly valid question anyway - no harm done. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. How are your biceps, Greg? Lol [emoji23] (I’m only joking - definitely easy to do with Tapatalk). :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Don’t panic, mate. The return edge is not compulsory, just adds a look of thickness to the armour. Here’s some shots of the RS Prop Masters arms (screen used if I understand correctly). As you’ll see, hardly any return. Check out the gallery if you want to put your mind at rest. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Aw, thanks Paul, I’m flattered. I’m awaiting my induction so spend my time looking at pics of my kit rather than wearing it.
  8. I think looped is how ESB holsters we’re done. Worn on the right, too. How you advised is correct for ANH. :-)
  9. Lol. I’ve never seen a compilation of pics showing so many of each!! :-) Personally, I go left. I’m right handed but prefer to go left, based on the first scene in ANH and the trooper line up that you pictured. With the holster on the left too, I imagine it’s what they had intended for TKs (not that it’s an exact rule). After a few times of kitting up and practicing with my left, it feels quite natural now. I’d hazard a guess though that more TKs worldwide go right, based on pictures of troops and here on FISD, so it’s certainly not an issue. I’d also say it could depend on the troop. I guess if all of the others on your troop are going left, go left for consistency. Good question though. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That’s a good looking set of armour. :-) Love the slightly weathered lid, too. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Nice work, Paul. That’s a great looking set of armour, and it’s been nice following your build. :-) Just a little thing I noticed was your forearm alignment. It’s just a dressing issue but they might benefit from being twisted round a tad. This will align the cover strips at the front, also aligning the side details at the same time. If you have more than a fingers gap at the bottom of your biceps, they could probably come in a bit too, if you wanted to. :-) Best of luck with your application. I’m sure it’ll go smoothly. :-) Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hi all, I have the following - hold on to your hats, it’s a long list: • ANH Stunt Stormtrooper (cleared - Centurion) Oh wait, that’s it. Move along. ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Wow. Another superb set of TM armour. Looking great. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Clever thinking with the plexi, Mark. Love the counter numbers too. Can’t wait to see more. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Is that a Snowtrooper or Shoretrooper? Either are pretty awesome. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Haha. Yeah, I see what you mean. :-) Maybe that can be your next project. ;-) lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Those arms look quite smart with the blue lines down. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Ah, yes that looks like the templates I had. Not a lot in it, though. The link that Daniel shared appears to possibly have a slightly more uniformed pattern on the template without the ‘lean’ on the final couple of stripes. I think the trooperbay templates are based on the “Dave M” helmet, the one I’ve pictured. Only subtle differences though. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. In that case, I’m very happy to stand corrected. :-) As you were, Trooper. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. In fairness, they’re still really nicely done. (I feel like a plumb for mentioning it now). :-( As Brien said, perhaps see if Andrew or Tony have any concerns for L2 and L3. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Oh dear - what have i started?.... lol
  22. Ah man, I did the same on my first lid. Spent ages faffing with mine too. It's really not a deal breaker as far as I'm aware. You're making a great job of your build so far. Keep it going mate. :-)
  23. Regarding the knee ammo pack, here’s a screen shot. All in this shot are slightly off centre. I’ve seen other builds with them central (including mine) which have cleared Centurion, so I guess it’s more down to your preference and how your kit is moulded. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hi Greg, Vocoder is looking nice (in my opinion). There are quite a few variations on the screen used ones so, if in doubt, take a look at the reference photos to see which style you prefer. I found starwarshelmets.com very helpful for lid painting. Just out of interest, did you paint or use decals for your tube stripes? I’m not sure if it’s a clearance issue (EIB etc) however I have a sneaking suspicion that your left and right tube stripes might be reversed. :-( It’s the angle of the stripes nearer the vocoder end that caught my eye. Hope you don’t mind me mentioning it. Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Agreed - a superb community!! :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
