TK-42199 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status [AM] (923)
TheSwede replied to Ninety-Nine's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi Max and thank you for your EIB application. Before I can comment on any photos missing I need you to clean up the post as many of the photos are not visible, I need them included in the post and not as links - thanks I did however spot an item that needs to be fixed, the tab on the posterior plate needs to be cut roughly as indicated by the blue line and new snaps fitted, look forward seeing the rest of your armor -

Here´s hoping for a speedy recovery - get better soon Terry -
Hey Kevin Have you let the glue have enough time to set properly, 24-48h?

Hi again Ryan - you have a great looking kit but we do have some requests before we can issue that Centurion Award. 1# The shoulders need to be closer to the chest and there could be several things preventing that as they look to be rotated towards the back and the undersuit seem to be interfering as well. Some tweeking and a new pic should have this sorted. 2# A simple fix but an important one for the highest level - keeping the shoulder bridges at equal lenght.

He has my support - you really should

Yes, the notch is optional meaning if the kit is missing it you don´t need to cut it out -
Skookumshot Requesting Pre Approval Review (AP)
TheSwede replied to MissionTrooper's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
Look really good A little something for the higher levels would be to raise the ammo belt and close the shoulder gap more by shorter/tighter strapping -
I advise against that, you have plenty of a gap between the leg pieces and it looks better without those cuts. However, it is your armor and you can do what you want so if proceeding with those cuts be sure they don´t go past the raised edges, you got really really close of cutting to much on the shin. Going past the edges will hold you from reaching Centurion, just a heads up

Better but I would lower it just a bit, that brow that is

Oh that´s awesome I built a kit for my son as well, here we are at our latest Troop as few week ago (I´m the FOTK and he´s on the left in the pic) No worries, they would definetly be to small, the recommendation is to order one size up so yeah I got small feet

Before you start trimming the ears I suggest you reposition the facplate, it´s a bit "sunk in" at the moment. Place it more out and down as illustrated by the arrows, not only will it make your helmet look closer to the originals it will also make the ears easier to trim as that will alligne the "tubes" (Goes for both sides of the helmet)
-
Looks like a good starting point but why don´t you use the ears you already started with?
-
Yes definetly worth it, not sure if you´re already aware but a common issue is the "twisting of TK Shins"...keeping the shins snug on your boot and leg prevents that very effectivly and no other solutions, stir ups, snaps, velcro etc are not needed. IB is currently doing a run so you should be able to get in on it.....unless….I happen to have a pair from them that I got for an all out screen accurate build that I now have put on hold so if you want a pair quick and are a size Classic 421 - 43EU / 10US / 9UK I can sell them for what I bought them for, never used only tried on for size.
-
You will give Galaxy´s Edge a run for their money with your very own theme park: - Q´s Down Under Adventure Land - In a galaxy far far away…. (not sure you can use that last bit though)
-
Then I would hold off on sizeing the shins as other boots might make the fit different
-
My advise is to not have any and instead use a balaclava, that way you stay hidden inside and have a much better air flow in the helmet. To top it of it´s screen accurate You should start with removing all of the return edge on the bottom of the shins and then overlap them really snug around your boot and snug to your calf, mark the overlap and trim. You want to remove all of that flat area and by the looks of it you should be able to Also, I noted the seams on the boots and just a heads up if your going for L2/L3 you will need other boots as seams on the front is not allowed

Sorry fot the late reply….my ab plate did´n have much of that lip that´s present on other kits, anovos for one and the majority of KB kits I had seen but was told by KB he updated the mold to accomodate bigger troopers and by doing so the lover lip got reduced. I first left that small lip so that the cod rested on it but later found out it was just in the way so removed it completely. How it came from KB, not much there. I left that little lip but then cut it off as indicated by the red line. And yes, by mounting the end straps at an angle they keep things centered, not sure it was necessary though but I did it anyways
