Skull-Trooper helmet [JSIN Props]
TheSwede replied to TheSwede's topic in Other Non-Approved Star Wars Costumes
Thanks, pretty pleased with it Look forward seeing yours -
Hey Joe I cut from both sides, it´s importand to keep the forearm level so to speak. If only cutting from one side they won´t keep the "square" shape. As for measurements I checked fit (with gaskets) to see how much I could remove, they were really big so I quickly realized I could remove as much as needed to make it look more like reference material on the greeblie side and then just trim the other side to keep the shape

I did alot of crowd-control with the riot-Trooper set up but sadly no photos of the first or third day and only a few the second day buuut it was a blast! Using the sheild for high-fives worked out just great. And some photostand-duty with my other set-up. TK on the left is my son, approved youngling. Some cool lights in the arena.

The Skull-Trooper was a smash-hit during this 3-day convention. This lady thought she could take a sneak-photo and I would never know -

TK-10867 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status [WTF] (918)
TheSwede replied to kekike2002's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi Pam I actually need both left and right thigh ammo pack fixing. I´m sure they are the same but still need to see it And, I need you to tweek the sniper knee as CRL L2 states that it must aligne with the ridges of the shin. The inside part is great but this side needs to come down more or in other words, get the red line to were the blue is. I would try and just loosen this side to start with, if that´s a no-go I would take the sniper knee off and remove all the lower return egde (indicated by the arrows) and that should help with getting it in check. Also, I´m off for a 3day convention Troop tomorrow and staying in a hotel and not bringing my computer, so I won´t be able to proceed with your review untill I get back on sunday. It`s just over an 8h drive so wednesday and sunday are travel days. I´m still available for questions and support if needs be though -
Like Darren mentioned it´s no difference in building a TFA/TLJ. There can´t be visible seams on the yoke or on the side of the Ab/kidney on either suit

TK-51351 requesting ANH Stunt Centurion status [AM] (434)
TheSwede replied to A.J. Hamler's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hi again A.J. and thank you for your Centurion application - let’s get you approved shall we! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Centurion! On behalf of the DO team and myself, many congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we discuss areas that could benefit from additional improvement. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Most of the suggestions to follow were made during your EIB review, we don’t mean to nag but we still feel these suggestions would make your armor shine to it’s absolute best - let’s get to it! As mentioned by a fellow Trooper, the black outlines are a bit thick compared to most Movie-helmets. We suggest making them a bit thinner and as they appear to be decals you have a great option to go all in and hand paint Moving on to the ears. Though there are variations, most of them had an angle to them as seen in the reference image of our "set for stun -Trooper". Looking at the tube stripes and comparing with screen helmets the "end" stripe should have a bit of a lean forward. Just another one of those small details to look into and consider for some extra ANH-magic so we still feel it was worth mentioning Moving on to the rivets we suggest doing some touching up every ones in a while to stay sharp on your patrols. Switching focus to the belt we noticed that you could raise it a smidgen for uber ANH-look and some velcro should do the trick if it slips down. Turning to the back and we suggest shorten the belt so it stays hidden behind the TD. Lastly we have the blaster and although we can understand wanting to make the blaster ”real-looking” the movie-blasters were more all-black. The back part of the hengstler were plastic so that should have no metallic effect and the front were brass so no silver should be seen. That’s it! Again congratulations on reaching Centurion - The Emperor is pleased with your efforts and welcome you into a Legion of his finest Troopers -
Hi again Eddie and thank you for your EIB application. In this review I will ensure that your armor follows the requirements set out in the CRL L2 Expert Infantry Badge and also point out what I can to prepare you for Centurion, should you choose to apply. I hope you do! Let´s get started shall we! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted and I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for ANH Stunt Expert Infantry. On behalf of myself and the entire D.O.Team, Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. As we navigate through this review we are going to start with the helmet and work our way down. You have a nice high brow worthy of a Sandtrooper, however the Stunts typically have a sligtly lower one as seen in the pic below. Next up we have the tears and traps were the paint looks a bit dull so we feel some touching up is in order. If going for uber accuracy the lean of the pin stripes follow the front border as illustrated in the circles. We move on the the tubestripes and although they are nicely applied they could stand to come up just a tad and they would be perfect. Perhaps something to do on a rainy day with nothing else to do We love seeing the original bracket strapping system but we do however suggest you replace the modern philips screws to slotted ones. As seen in the reference image the smaller button plate could stand a shave to loose the return edge and we also suggest you brake out the blue paint and make it the same size as the grey ones and speaking of which, they could on the other hand benefint some cleaning up around the edges with a tootpick or other weapon of choice. Looking at the belt, the dropboxes are in perfect alignment so great job on that and the only thing we have to mention here would be that the holster straps in the movie for the most part were of a tan color, just something to consider. Just a little FYI that the gloves could use a clean-up to be up to snuff for Lord Vaders inspection. The next two suggestions follow in the same category as above - making you look sharp for the Empire. #1 Idealy the cover strips line up so we suggest you rotate the thighs inwards and as a bonus that will reduce the black showing for a prestine ANH-look. #2 We stay on the thighs and suggest you trim and/or fill the gaps with some scrap abs and abs paste to be more in keeping with the on screen Troopers. Last item to mention in this section is just a little triming for total ANH-accuracy, if that´s your preference that is Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustment etc. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Below you will find areas that will need to be adressed for a future succesfull Centurion Application. Your shoulder bells are really close but we feel they can look even better by just shorten the strapping and possibly trim them with a curve as seen in the reference image. The belt is also close to beeing perfect but as Centurion is the highest level we feel raising it up is the right thing to do. It should only be a matter of lifting it up and placing some velcro to hold it if the pressure against the button plates isn´t enough. These snaps needs to be replaced with ones of a silver/chrome finish. There seem to be some material left as indicated but that´s an easy fix with a dremmel on your road to Centurion. Last item is the blaster and the CRL states that Hasbro´s are not allowed for L3 so you will need to get another blaster for Centurion, let us know if you need help in sourcing one And that´s it! Head on out and make the Empire proud as it´s newest Expert Infantry Man

TK-10867 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status [WTF] (918)
TheSwede replied to kekike2002's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi Pam and thank you for your EIB application. Idealy the photos are correctly oriented but as you already put some effort in to fixing them I will sort them out for you We do however need some additional photos: # Helmet - lens color. # Cod fixing - outside. # Thigh ammo fixings - inside/outside. # Sniper knee - straight on photos showing the front/left/right. -
Congratulations and welcome to the Legion Trooper
-
Absolutely nothing - great work Just a little something though, in these pics the biceps look a bit big at the elbow. I would also place the shoulder straps ”a bump” forward to get more clearence in the back.

@The5thHorseman Hopefully this version does the trick

Display First, Troop Second
TheSwede replied to Sizzle-Conrad-'s topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Yeah getting a kit from either TM or RS with a holster and strapping kit would be about the same as the cost of the SDS. The blaster would be extra and I’ve heard of Australien customs not liking blasters but Q could answer that better @gmrhodes13 -
Display First, Troop Second
TheSwede replied to Sizzle-Conrad-'s topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Hey Scott and welcome to FISD Just asking, is the prices for TM and RS to do the build for you or are the shipping that expensive? It´s not that hard, it really isn´t I promise, to build it yourself. SDS is cool, in my opinion, based on only one thing, you get armor made were the original suits were pulled (unless they mass-produce somewhere else) But that´s it. Beeing your lifelong dream I can´t stress enough that you should not get the SDS, you will not be happy with it in the long term unless for said reason and I still don´t recommend it But the most important advise is to do what you want and the things that makes you happy -
TK-51351 requesting ANH Stunt Centurion status [AM] (434)
TheSwede replied to A.J. Hamler's topic in Request Centurion Status
No need, I was asking due to the paint seemed to extend onto the gum-area but if you didn’t repaint then it’s confirmed to be reflections, thanks! And, we’ll have you joining the Centurion ranks shortly -
Almost, you’ll need to have the holster removable and an extra one for ESB as they had the holsters on the right side with loops. You also need a different blaster. Those are Sandtrooper handguard variant called cheesegraters.

Aah that explains it
