TK-52394 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status (922)
TheSwede replied to p4ntb0y's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi again Dan and thank you for your EIB application. In this review I will ensure that your armor follows the requirements set out in the CRL L2 Expert Infantry Badge and also point out what I can to prepare you for Centurion, should you choose to apply. I hope you do! Let´s get started shall we! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted and I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for ANH Stunt Expert Infantry. On behalf of myself and the entire D.O.Team, Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. As we navigate through this review we are going to start from the top and work our way down. Starting with the helmet and the brow, most Stunts were a touch higher so raising it would be the go-to advise here. Here we suggest some minor tweeking for a prestine look, tucking in that neck seal, the black strapping in the back and to remove the fraying on the belt. Looking at the TD and as seen in the reference images the screws were a bit closer to the ends and said ends had a little bend to them if wanting to go for that uber screen accurate look. As you went the screen accurate way on your shin closure we just want to point out that the hooks should be facing up. And that´s it! - again congratulations on reaching Expert Infantry Let´s move on! Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustment etc. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all we can from what is seen but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Below you will find areas that will need to be adressed for a future succesfull Centurion Application. Starting with the shoulders there should be a minimal gap between the shoulders and the chest and back plate. Looking at yours we would need you to close those gaps as indicated below. Ways of doing that would be to make sure the biceps sit more snug inside the biceps or maybe reach out to Ross for some "big boy parts" and if so be sure to trim them with a curve just like the originals, that really helps in getting the bells close. Perhaps not as wavy as they did on the back though. Moving on - Ideally there´s no gap between the kidney and ab plate and by the looks of things some tighter strapping should have this sorted out in no time. Lastly we have the blaster and the t-tracks are to have no metallic apperance so some black paint is needed and we suggest you tone down the overall "metallic look of the blaster. We understand wanting to make the blaster "real-looking" but in the movie they were more of a solid black all around. And that`s it - head on out as an Expert Infantryman for the Empire and we look forward seeing your Centurion application -

Those adjustments are suggestions that we feel would make your armor look even better. You are Centurion so you don´t have to do anything and don´t do anything that you´re not comfortable with If you choose to make adjustments I suggest you post them in your build thread -

Hi again Pam. and thank you for your Centurion application - let’s get you approved shall we! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Centurion! On behalf of the DO team and myself, many congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we discuss areas that could benefit from additional improvement. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Most of the suggestions to follow were made during your EIB review, we don’t mean to nag but we still feel these suggestions would make your armor shine to it’s absolute best - let’s get to it! You did great on your build and we only have a few small suggestions to make and starting with the helmet we see that the ears are nicely fitted. The majority of Stunt helmets also had a bit of a lean to them, as seen in the reference images, so if you feel up to it we feel this would ad even more to that ANH feeling. The belt is fine as it is but same as with the ears, some small tweeking and it would be perfect. In this case raising the center part of the belt a smidgen. Turning to the back we feel that there´s still room for improvement by tighter strapping. Moving on we have the TD and idealy the screws are positioned closer to the edge and further apart. We also suggest not making the bends so pronunced (full arrows) and to add that little bend on the ends for uber ANH magic. We know how much work you put in to get that sniper knee in line so we just want to point out this pesky glob of rebel-glue still stuck on there, some rubbing with a finger should get rid of it. And that´s it - great job and head on out as a Centurion for the Empire! -
I hear you about the gym, pretty active myself and actually quit putting on gains in order to keep the bicep armor as small as possible (may sound like bragging but I’ve trained for 20+years) for us gym rats it’s also important to keep in mind to bend the arms in a relaxed state when in armor, I can not flex as the armor is really snug but then again there’s no need to (I can still put on/take the helmet off) and I don’t get why anyone should, I often see that mentioned, that you need to be able flex - always wondered why. You have the E-11 for the Gun-showThe biceps are a distinct feature on the ANH Troopers and they are form fitting so as it stands right now we would ask you to reduce the size for Centurion. We are obviosly willing to work with you on this and if you are packning some serious peak on those biceps and unable to reduce the size of the armor we just need to see some additional photos showing that. Another option that might make it look acceptable, strong word but I’m sure you know what I mean (it’s really is only about the looks) would be to place some foam in there to even out the spacing around the arms (Armor centered around the arm). Having a really tight undersuit works wonders as well of one is on the bigger side, I was surprised myself what a difference that makes. With that said, I’m not the only one with a say in this matter so I might be in minority when asking this so you are free to submit and perhaps you’ll pass with flying colors You do look great and based on these photos I can’t see anything that would hold you from approval or EIB Centurion there are a few small bits to sort out for

Looking good Apart from those small asjustments I would consider resizing the biceps, they look a bit big.

3D prints now needs to be sanded smooth as it can’t have any visible print lines for EIB and beyond. I would normalt recommend Imperial Warfighters on FB as they have a great rubber E-11 at a very good price, pretty much ready to go out of the box. However, Ryan, the owner, just suffered a tragic loss of his wife so no sure if they are taking orders at the moment.

Dan’s is correct - great eye as usuall Somehow I missed that in your EIB review but we need you to redo it for Centurion. Apologies for not spotting this earlier. On a positive note, as I’m waiting on additional info from those prior applications I mentioned I’m going to start on yours, that’s why I saw the post about the cover strips. -

With the CRL changes now in affect 3D printed blasters needs to be sanded smooth at L2 My go-to advise is always Imperial Warfighters on FB, they have a great looking rubber E-11 at a very good price. However, the owner just suffered a tragic loss of his wife so I’m not sure he’s taking orders at the moment. -

Did you shake and stir the paint enough? The grey looks fine in that pic (still a bit dark though) but that blue must have been a bad batch or just too old. I`m afraid it´s way to dark to hold muster for Expert Infantry. Sometimes the humbrol paints are no good, I have had a few bad ones during my own builds. I need you to find a better can or try to shake/stir the one you have. You could try a straight on pic first if you like but if you feel the color is dark yourself I´m not too optimistic but worth a shot. Tube stripes are much lighter. -

Hey Max I´m having a hard time making out the coulors on your ab-buttons, they appear very dark. I looked at all the photos shoving the ab plate and also zooming them but to no avail. Including a color scheme as well as a reference image so you can see what we look for -

Hi again Pam - looking good I need you to include a link to your EIB application, also, I´m currently in progress reviewing 2 other applications but I´ll be with you as soon as possible -
Looking closely one can see the mold lines (indicted by blue lines) so just follow that and snip accordingly, cod looks good but test fit after (before setting a rivet) if more material needs to be removed
