  1. Nice job on the snap plates. Assuming you have the same 5/16” Tandy snaps I do, you can still mount them on ~2mm plastic, just use the hammer/anvil/setting tool method. Takes some practice but I was able to get them on no problem.
  2. For TD: Clips shall be attached with slotted, pan head style screws, and painted black (two per clip). For helmet ear screws: Ear screws shall be slotted, flat (V-shaped) style and painted white. That work? I defer to the DOs of course.
  3. You’d need to initiate the CRL process for a new costume if no one else has.
  4. I only put them on my shins, for the same reason. Everywhere isn’t a bad idea though.
  5. Looking good! Your garrison has some snazzy trading cards.
  6. Looking good trooper. I'd trim your coverstrips down to the height of the lower bicep piece - it's more accurate and less likely to dig into your skin.
  7. Just remember to pull your armor off the grill when it hits 165°F.
  8. Agreed! Here's hoping the flood of FOTK submissions will go a long way towards EIB #1000.
  9. I use imgur, avoids the file size limits.
  10. Yeah, they only take orders the first week (or so) of the month. They'll reopen early January.
  11. Glad to see you (and so many others, me included) aiming for Centurion from the start. Look forward to watching your build!
  12. That's a great opportunity, Mike. Hopefully someone took lots of photos for reference.
  13. Great post and congratulations on reaching your goals! I'm following a similar path, making some tweaks to my TK after a couple of troops, as well as some small accuracy updates, for my own EI/Centurion applications.
  14. ^ This. Depending on how you mount your visor, how you glue your teeth mesh (if you use it at all), padding/liner options, etcetera... you are better off researching via build threads/Google image search and see what you want to do.
  15. If we're making changes, can we add the correct screws for ears/TD into L3? They're already unwritten Centurion requirements anyway...
  16. You might want to raise your forearms up 1/4-1/2" to close the gap between your biceps/forearms a little, and also prevent handguard chipping from the forearms rubbing against them.
  17. I don't think that the 501st or FISD are against screen accuracy, just that - especially in the case of ANH TK's - they were built so haphazardly (we keep forgetting that Star Wars was a low-budget '70s film) that if they were to allow every variation that showed up on screen it would devolve into 'anything goes'. There are troopers with 10 teeth, troopers with 6, troopers missing tube stripes, TKs with unpainted ab buttons, stunt troopers with four rivets on their belts (instead of two), missing holsters, missing thermal detonators, troopers with shoulder covers put on backwards, some held together with nothing but duct tape... so instead the focus is on the majority depiction in the film. TL;DR: Yes, there was a trooper with 10 teeth. Doesn't mean it has to be approvable. My two cents.
  18. Contact support@imperialboots.com, Vincent will help you out.
  19. Agreed. AFAIK they are supposed to be symmetrical, actual vocoder piping, etcetera. Plenty of reference material to know for certain.
  20. If its a simple shape you can do exactly this with a kitchen oven. Be careful of fumes and make sure not to burn your house down, of course.
  21. I’m pretty sure we all see the flaws in our armor while everyone else just goes ‘cool, a stormtrooper!’.
  22. Other option is to shim. Not super difficult, just need some spare color-matched plastic and ABS paste (a random orbital polisher helps too!).
