  1. Snagged a previous-gen ATI Strikeforce for a great price off of eBay, which arrived the other day: I plan on filling in the ATI logo and printing out a new recoil pad (probably out of ninjaflex) to make it more accurate. Will also need to find a secure way to mount it to the end cap.
  2. Prett much every standard line helmet has the gap, yours is actually one of the better ones I’ve seen. Shouldn’t stop you from basic approval but it’s a good question for the DO’s in terms of L2/L3...
  3. For EIB half an inch or less per side, for Centurion, no gap. For basic approval doesn’t matter.
  4. My guess would be that since R1TK’s are different enough from OT it wouldn’t be something the CRLs cover, but I suppose there’s nothing stopping you from doing so.
  5. Did another troop and this Velcro thing just isn't working... at least for the back/kidney/posterior assembly. Going to go with snaps or a set of brackets from MrNoStripes... just need to figure out if these return edges are thick enough first.
  6. Greetings fellow troopers! Picked up an ANOVOS suit secondhand... after many long nights building in the garage (and, um, 'sick' days), I finished my TK and was approved on Thanksgiving. Need to do a few final touches on my TK and then I'll be putting in my EIB and Centurion applications! Shout outs to Tony (ukswrath) and Joseph (justjoseph63) for their help in my build. Without your threads and supplies I think we'd be seeing far less troopers applying for L2/L3 - I know for me, at least, the difference between not applying and 'going for it' was about $90 and a few more hours worth of building. For anyone who doesn't think they can do a Centurion build, this is my first time building any costume, and I did it in a little over three weeks. If I can do it, so can you! Long live the Empire!
  7. It’s hollow. I put painters tape behind the holes to avoid overspray, so I wouldn’t have to repaint the inside since it was already black PLA.
  8. I used the heavy duty SS Tandy snaps and they seem pretty durable so far (held up for 2 hours at the Battlefront II launch), but if it seems to be an issue later I'll look into it.
  9. $50 cheaper than the Executioner helmet, too. Might have to pre-order...
  10. TK-92802 reporting for duty! Need to address a few issues now: 1). velcro/glue ammo back in proper position on thigh (done!) 2.) thighs are not the same length, need to trim the right and shim the left for equal amounts of black showing 3.) my posterior plate likes to flare out and ride up the kidney plate, some MrNoStripes brackets should solve the problem, hopefully... then off to EIB and Centurion!
  11. TK-92802 requesting 501st access: https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=26568 Thanks in advance (Happy Thanksgiving!).
  12. Looks like you (like me!) had the old Anovos belt. Just a FYI that you'll need to replace the cloth portion for Centurion. Also... buy more clamps and magnets than you think are needed. Way more.
  13. You can try contacting ImperialBoots and see if they'll do a custom size for you. If not... find the smallest you can and pad them out? Original TK boots will work if you aren't concerned with L2/L3.
  14. Yes, it's a TKittle belt. For the process, I boiled a pot of water, turned off the heat added 5 large bags of black tea and let them steep. Let the water sit for a few minutes to cool (the cooler, the longer it takes to set color, but the less shrinkage to the belt). Then dipped the belt in and swirled it around for a minute, pulled it out and rinsed it in a 2:1 mix of cold water and vinegar (helps to set the color). Make sure your pot is large enough to submerge the entire belt at once with ample room to avoid uneven color absorption. I then let it air dry overnight. A couple notes: The belt will shrink a bit, so it won't line up with the notched corners perfectly and you'll lose maybe 1/4" in overall length. If I were to do it again, I'd only steep for ~30-45 seconds as it came out a tad darker than I'd have liked.
  15. Congrats! Finishing up my Anovos kit now.
  16. Are you good with rubber blasters? HFx and Praetorian make ready-to-troop blasters.
  17. Did a test fit with the trimmed kidney and fixed thighs and everything seems to fit now. My posterior plate seems prone to popping out, I assume replacing the velcro/elastic with nylon and snaps or film-accurate brackets would keep it from flexing?
  18. The Anovos executioner helmet looks like it’s white ABS with silkscreened/painted black details, so likely all you’d need is some rubbing alcohol or similar.
  19. If you are aiming for Centurion, you may need to check and see if those kidney cutouts need to be extended out to where you shimmed to maintain correct size. EDIT - Nevermind
  20. Any compression top/bottom will work as long as it’s all black, some people prefer one-piece suits (Trooperbay and other places sell them). Amazon will be cheaper.
  21. Trimmed down my kidney plate by an inch or so and formed a new return edge/cutouts: Will need to do a little bit more clean-up on the return edge but not bad for my first try, I think. Glued some velcro to the top of my TKboots to keep the shins from riding up: Picked up some (ssh, non-CRL!) binders at Disneyland and took off the logos/etc (may look for a more screen-accurate mounting solution):
