  1. Some fantastic work here, really good to see one of these closing in on the finishing line. We've been spoilt with kits and vac forms, so seeing the amount of effort going into this is amazing.
  2. Added General Construction Notes, which covers some general things like no 3d print lines, damage and weathering must match the references.
  3. Undersuit added. Edited as I believe the trousers to be black, not burgundy like the top.
  4. Blaster is added, I think the handle grips are white based on this reference image: Also added the neck seal, this will be the default neck seal template. Just the undersuit, belt, Kama and holster to go.
  5. The problem we have is that in Star Wars all the weapons look like real world weapons due to the aesthetic chosen back in the 70s. Whilst that’s changing a bit with other franchises, we’re not carrying phasers. This means you really really need to be aware of who might see this and the conclusions and consequences that may lead to. One thing that’s worth mentioning and probably not overly well known is that in the UK is simply owning an E-11 could potentially be a firearms offence, and so can REALLY land you in hot water if you don’t use some common sense. Due to the appearance it falls under the legislation for a “Replica Imitation Firearm”. Without going too far into it as I am not qualified to do so, the manufacture and possession is illegal without a “reasonable excuse”. This is a nice summary from some one who at least appears to know what they are on about: https://www.askthe.police.uk/faq/?id=587bc863-12db-eb11-bacb-0022483f57c9
  6. No it wouldn't sorry. Things like the cover strips need to be glued on to look right, and a layer of velcro instead, would not only not be up to the job, it would not look right and so not be clearable. This is why glues like E6000 are recommended as if a mistake is made of change required it's a reversible bond than you can remove and re do.
  7. As Glen says, it's not final but as it stands no leaf until Lvl3. I suspect that will stand for cracks, but I do want to ask about if we want leaf for the armour, not cracks, at level 2 as it is such a major part of the look of this costume. Though I can't imagine basic ever requiring it.
  8. This probably has what you mean Just bare in mine these are probably getting on for 15 years old at this point, so use them as a guide and don't follow them blindly. Make sure you take into account current standards and practices.
  9. The way I’ve been drafting it on Enoch, which is based on this draft, is lvl1 can be painted on lvl2 engraved but can be paint and then lvl 3 is engraved and “gold coloured leaf”. Doesn’t have to be actual gold, but leaf does look very different to paint so I think is a valid step up for the top level. This applies to cracks and patches. Once cleared if you need to make repairs then how you handle that is going to be based on personal choice, what you have to hand, time and cost considerations. All still open to discussion, but that needs to start with something.
  10. Welcome to the Legion and detachment. Trooping is great, I wish I could get out more than I do.
  11. We are now funded through into the next term, so this funding drive is now closed. Thank you to all of you who donated and have kept the Imperial engine turning. Supporter badges have been applied to all of you. As a reminder the majority of our costs are picked up by the Legion, who are currently having a drive to cover those pretty substantial costs. If you have not yet done so, even $1 will help. https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=113646
  12. Bit more filled in, also added bullet points to make it less of a sea of words.
  13. The vertical spacing looks significantly thinner than then bottom one, and the gap at the top of the slice appears to be closer to the side then the base. This suggestion seems more accurate to my eyes. Though you might want to check the relative proportions of the various black elements.
  14. Make sure you check the ab plate as from what I have seen there are better files.
  15. Would something like a craft paper work? Here I'd use lining paper (for wall papering) as it's cheap, large and would drape more than card.
  16. I will be starting with those as reference points, and the armour is based on modified R1 armour but at this stage it's hard to commit to anything, especially this early.
  17. Welcome to the FISD! I don't think you need to worry, though we all do especially the first time. You have a lot of skills there that whilst maybe not directly applicable have taught you to figure stuff out. Take that and some guidance from your garrison and us here on the forum and I am sure you will be a Centurion soon enough. My single best piece of advice is to take your time before buying anything. Take some time to see what your local troopers are using, what the more recent centurions are using and what is in your budget and make sure it will work for the goals you want to achieve.
  18. Thank you to all of you who have jumped on this so quickly and keeping the Imperial machine running. I've applied your supporter badges for all of you who have donated so far.
  19. Thank you for supporting the Imperial Systems.
