  1. Not to worry, sir. Even if you don't make the first 1000, there are still perks for reaching Expert Infantry! 3. Hi Scott, and THANKS for your EI submission! I have PM'd you the updated EI photo checklist.
  4. Hi Andy, and thanks for your submission for EI! Really nice job overall on this armor, sir, but as Glen mentioned above the gaps between the kidney and ab plates can be no wider that half an inch. The connection looks fairly tight at the moment, so adding some shims would be the way to go at this point so that we can move you along! I am also PMing you an updated list of required photos.
  5. HOLY CROW! Down into the teen numbers now thanks to our newest EI, Ken (ForeverFanFirstTimeRecruit) TK 88667. Way to go Ken!
  6. Hi Ken, and thanks for your application for ANH Stunt! CRL and EIB Application Requirements All required photos are now in and, after review, we are pleased to welcome you to Expert Infantry rank. On behalf of Sha Sha, Mario and myself, congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions Awesome job on fitting this armor, Ken, especially since you are a "taller" trooper, and below are some suggestions to make it look even better! All small issues that can be easily remedied in just a few minutes, (except for the last one, which may take a bit longer). The brow trim could be trimmed back just a tad to where it lines up more with the rear of the trap line. Easy! Reference images It looks as if your TD could be pushed down on the belt some more. This would be a task for whoever attaches it, and something to consider when getting suited up. Reference images Another easy item here... although the left one is perfect, watch the alignment on the top rear of the calves. Reference images We know some of the ones in the films can be seen outside their "ideal" positions (usually in action scenes), but in a perfect world the top of the posterior plate should sit evenly with the bottom of the kidney. A simple strapping adjustment and you are golden! Reference images Although not a deal-breaker for Level 3, we are strongly suggesting that you bring down the sides of the thigh ammo pack about 5 mm. (Hopefully you didn't use CA glue)! Last up in this area is the inside of the sniper knee plate. I know you went to a great deal of trouble realigning it recently, and it looks MUCH better ! The reason I am adding it in the "suggested" area is because; A. It's not crazy noticeable. B. I know you are aiming for Centurion, and since you have to whip up some ABS paste for the shim (listed below) you can hit this at the same time! (Hint hint). Centurion Requirements In this section we prepare you for Centurion. More photos may be requested in the future that allow us to make better decisions on possible adjustments. If there are any areas of concern they will be discussed here. Because Centurion photos show much more detail than EIB, items to pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here. We try to point out all that we can from what is seen, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Your kidney shims turned out fantastic, but as you and I have discussed for Level 3 they cannot have a seam present. Making ABS paste to cover them and then sanding/polishing is actually not as daunting of a task as you may think, and I can offer some tricks/tips for ya'... just PM me. Your right one looks perfect, but the left drop box appears to be riding forward just a bit. After getting it lined up with the edge of the ABS belt, some E-6000 (orange area) behind the strap(s) will hold it securely in place. Reference images Last up, as you are aware, Hasbro blasters are not permitted at Level 3 so that will need to be replaced. (SUPER nice job on that weathering, though) And that's it, brother! You have a few issues to deal with, but I have already seen a few minor miracles you have performed on this kit so I have every faith that you can bring this armor to the next level... and I can't wait to see your Centurion submission!
  7. Time for that reveal! Congrats to Sergio (Keko) TK 10650 for reaching EI.. #980!
  8. Hola, Sergio, and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. Overall a great looking set of armor, mi hermano, and I am VERY impressed by the paint job on your helmet! A few items here that will help you look your best: The left eye opening is spot-on, but the top of the right one could use a tiny bit of trimming if you get the chance. Reference images The brow trim on both sides is long, and should end at the rear of the trap line above. But, the height of your ear on the left is about 4 mm lower than the one on the right, which may leave an unsightly opening. Reference images A simple strapping adjustment here, but both thighs should sit at the same level. It looks as if rotating the left one out a bit and raising it about 1 cm should do the trick. Reference images Another easy fix here.. when getting suited up, having the rear top connection of the calves level will give you a much better appearance. Reference images Your TD is sitting pretty high on the belt and needs to be straightened out. Just make sure whoever attaches it for you pushes it all the way down onto the belt! Reference images Centurion Requirements; In this section we prepare you for Centurion. Because Centurion photos show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Unfortunately, your teeth are way over-trimmed, brother. The openings should be only slightly higher than the paint, but your extend pretty far beyond that and at this time I'm sad to say that they are not acceptable for Centurion approval. Reference images Although the left side is perfect, the top of the right shoulder bell needs to be brought closer to the shoulder strap. Reference images The ridge on the sniper knee are about 4 mm lower than the ridge of the calf and will need to be raised. Removing all the return edge from the bottom will help a lot. Reference images The outside edge of the drop boxes must be aligned with the outer edge of the ABS belt. Some E-6000 on the rear of the strap will hold them in place! Reference images As per the CRL for Level 3, "The corners of the ABS ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt". Unfortunately, it looks as if you do not have the space at the end to accomplish this due to the button position, so it may need to be replaced. Reference images Last up, it looks like you have some silver paint on the T-tracks of your E-11. The original T-tracks were made of plastic, so no "weathering" should be present. Reference image And that's it! Another EI added to the Spanish Garrison!
  9. Looking GREAT, Martyn! The only small issue that jumps out at me right now is the paint on the center teeth. Can you post a close-up of those? Thanks!!
  10. Looking great, Ken! One of us will be with ya' shortly, sir!
  11. My apologies, Chris! For some strange reason that accolade is on your profile (still something to strive for, though)! Know that we are here for ya', sir, and I (we) still expect great things from this build! Looking forward to seeing your progress, and as always we are here to help.
  12. AWESOME news! As a recipient of the "Master Armorer" award, I hope you realize at this point that we expect nothing but perfection, Chris!
  13. Sorry about that, Ken. We had some final tweaking to do. PM sent!
  14. Hi James, and thanks for your submission for EI! Unfortunately, you are missing some mandatory information as well as some required photos. Please click on the link below for more precise information/requirements, and I look forward to seeing the updated pics! 15. ¡Estoy trabajando en tu presentación ahora, soldado! ¡Gracias por su paciencia, y estaré con usted en breve!
  16. And then there were 22... Congrats to Steve (snaketcher) TK 11764, our newest EI!
  17. Hi Steve, and thanks for your application for ANH Stunt! Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions First, great job on that shim on your left side, and thanks for the additional photos! A couple of items in this section to go over to make your bucket and armor look even better! The paint on your vocoder could be tightened up/refined a bit. Ideally, the tops should have a clean, crisp look and the arcs at the tops rounded a little more. 5 minutes with a filbert style brush would take care of this. Reference images Next up is the ear positioning. With few exceptions, the angle of the ears should be lined up to where the screws line up closely with the angle of the rear of the trap above them. If you feel up to this, we suggest repositioning them. We are strongly suggesting that you trim off the rear of the shoulder bridges. As seen in the reference images, there is no large tab at the rear, and the ends of the bridges should ride much higher above the O II plate below them. 2 minutes with a pair of ABS scissors (or a razor knife) and you are golden! Reference images Although not a deal-breaker, we think you could trim down the lower sides on your sniper knee plate to bring them down closer to the ridge. Reference images Centurion Requirements In this section we prepare you for Centurion. You have some big guns there, Steve! Unfortunately, this is causing the gaps between the chest plate and shoulder bells to be pretty wide. At this point we recommend tightening up the elastic that hold the bells to the shoulder bridges and removing all of the return edges on the bottoms of the bells to reduce those spaces. Reference image They may be present, but in looking at the shoulder bridges we cannot see the thin white elastic band on the shoulder bridge that holds it down to the tab of the back plate. This is a requirement for level 3, and a SUPER easy issue to take care of! Reference images Your ABS belt is riding pretty low, and as per the CRL, it needs to sit "...at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical... button panels" as seen in the reference images. A few pieces of Velcro on the back would do the trick! Reference images We normally allow a little extra rim around the vertical ab-button plate, but yours covers the raised area below it almost completely (the trimming on the large plate is perfect, though). Centurion level is all about the samll details, brother, but this is pretty prominent and needs to be trimmed down for a more screen accurate look. Reference images You did a fantastic job on the left side, but the right side also needs some ABS paste love. A visible seam is permitted at Level 2, but not Level 3. Reference images As shown below, your back plate is riding over the kidney quite a bit and needs to be raised to the point where there is "...little to no overlap". From what I can see(as seen in the second photo) the issue may be that your back plate is riding low. Raising it up by cutting the tabs a bit, reducing the length of your white connecting straps and shoulder bridges in the rear (as mentioned above) may take care of this. Reference images Another easy fix here: The outside edges of the drop boxes must line up with the outside edge of the ABS belt. A dab of E-6000 under the straps in the rear (once they are positioned correctly) should do it. Reference images Although note specifically mentioned in the CRL, the gap on the bottom ridge of your left thigh needs to either be filled with ABS paste or have an ABS shim behind it. Reference image Last up, as you may be aware Hasbro blasters (even converted ones) are not permitted at Centurion level. We also suggest that the Hengstler counter be raised and moved back, as it sits in the wrong position. And that's it, sir! You did an awesome job on that seam (so we know you have mad build skills ), and we sincerely hope that you can take some time to address the above issues so that we can see that Centurion submission soon!
  18. WOW! I find it fantastic to know that we are down to the last 23 before reaching the 1000 mark for Expert Infantry level! To those who have submitted and been approved for EI, know that on behalf of the entire Staff we salute each and every one of you for taking your armor to the next level of screen accuracy. BUT... time is running out, Troopers. At this rate we will be reaching our goal soon, and in order to be a part of the "Original 1000" (and get in on that sweet swag we promised) we encourage you to submit your armor as soon as you think it is ready. If you have ANY questions or concerns about this, please feel free to ask any member of the D.O Staff** and we will be more than happy to help! D.O. 19. MUCH better, Steve, and THANKS! I'll get to work on this right away, so hang in there....
  20. GREAT job on the bicep trimming, Echota! I don't think you need to trim out the "hump" area as shown. That may be necessary for the shoulder bells (depending on how close they fit to the outside of the biceps) and definitely the wrist opening of the forearms. For now, just a bit more off the edges (not necessary, though), sand it down smooth and you are golden!
  21. Welcome, Liam! You may want to check with the TKs in your Garrison to find out if there is a local supplier of the neck seal/canvas belt. Don't forget about the boots! For those, I suggest Imperial Boots, specifically the 421s. They only make them in "waves" (once a month or so), and I believe the next wave starts Aug. 1st. If we can be of any help, just ask, and best of luck on your white armor journey!
