I bend all my abs thigh power cell parts over my gas stove and bend by hand. then when applied to the thigh it's just the rivets and pressure that keeps them looking proper. go slow, it's not that you need to melt it, just bend it a very small amount. you won't want it on a curve, more like a series of bends between the boxes. heat guns are overkill.

rare earth magnets for belt?
TK bondservnt replied to TD-4395's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
the screen accurate ANH way of strapping created broken armor, after stunts ect. as they perfected the internal and external strapping systems they completely changed over time. "it was broken, so they fixed it!" ep5 and 6 internal strapping systems prove that they changed the design not only cosmetically but functionally as well. -

How much should i cut on the arms?
TK bondservnt replied to roony2311's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
that line is too far... leave enough on both sides to fit your arm first, with paul's measurement for a flat area that the strip should cover. -
the grips on a sterling are always black, and should be glossy. they are made out of glossy plastic. it always looks good with a little worn and non glossy areas on the grip to simulate weathering. also the T Tracks should not be weathered silver. silver is also not the color, it should be gunmetal. nice attention to detail! only other aspect I'd go for would be the crayon white letters on the top of the scope.

Quesntion about AP shins and thighs
TK bondservnt replied to 1mpulseS0D's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
you should butt join ALL anh and ESB style armors. only ROTJ should be overlapped. the overlap is the outside leg over the inside leg part. with the back having an overlap strip also on the outside part. it will not look correct to overlap an ANH or ESB armor.. it's very very noticable! to do the butt join method you want to cut off 1/2 of the overlap, so that both parts join leaving a 1" flat area. the cover strip is 7/8" wide and the best way to make those is from a 1" piece of aluminum strip C clamped to a plywood strip with the plastic strip under, this makes it easy to score with a box cutter 3 times, then simply bend and snap. lightly sand the dull side of the strip and slightly on the edges glue down one side first, then apply the other side. it can be helpful if you have 20 small clamps and some white duck tape! always use E-6000 as it's very forgiving! line up all leg parts from the top, then after the assembly is complete, then cut to finish up the bottoms. -

either way you can't go wrong with ata abs or ap. -
you could put the electronicx in the front part of the barrel under the T Track. have it all run from the bolt turning the light on. very impressive build you have there!

(TKC) Storm Trooper Commander
TK bondservnt replied to Dark Trooper's topic in Stormtrooper Commander
there are lot's of subtle details in the TKC costume, the details of the builds can be found in build threads in the TKC section. look closely... some get it right. and some leave out little things. -
I have both ATA and AP armor. subtle differences all over the place. the armor itself is almost the same size. the ATA helmet has a larger neck opening which can make it look bigger. it's all in the trimming.

Want to be a Stormtrooper
TK bondservnt replied to Boba_Skywalker3's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
getting the AP trimmed can be fun to assemble. it's great stuff! you need to be small enough for it. 5 11 150lbs with thin arms. best way to be sure it fits is you just order it trimmed, then you can assemble it overlapping or butt join your choice! -

Xaoslord's ANH Stunt Build - RT-Mod[*RT]
TK bondservnt replied to xaoslord's topic in ANH Build Threads
what brian said! totally needs elastic on the thighs... NO other option really works. and I attach them directly to the AB/COD since if everything is aligned then it fits. thigh garters don't stay in alignment with the armor.
