My Garrison CO wears a cooling vest under his Vader , last about 1 1/2 hours before it starts to work in reverse and the liquid pouches start to hold your body heat and make it really uncomfortable. We live in Queensland Australia, so it's Hot and humid 6 months of the year. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Best Gloves? Leather?
Sly11 replied to BlazeNova's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Stitch the Velcro to the gloves, at least that's what I did, and used industrial adhesive backed on the hand plates. I am however using the ABS plates with the Nomex gloves. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Help and sugestions needed, BIG THIGHS
Sly11 replied to Sly11's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Thanks for that, was thinking similar with the ABS past and an extra piece of ABS glued in the centre, but the sculpting clay is a good idea.. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Hi all Am currently helping a new cadet build his armor for basic approval, so I am chasing some suggestions on the below photo. Now this guy is a big unit, I mean solid. Unfortunately his anxiousness got ahead of his research, and he purchased a trimmed SDS. he is also 6'4", so has been fun and games for him getting this together. Unfortunately, today is the first day he has asked for help, so these thighs are glued at the front with CA glue, so cant adjust from there. The span of the gap is 70mm, so a cover strip would need to be roughly 100mm wide to facilitate the span. I think our friend is slowly starting to appreciate the term, Research, research, research, cause I've told him to talk to AM and see if he can order some biggger thighs. My thought process is to shim it like you would to your kidney plate for girth in Centurion (no gaps) and then make some ABS paste to fill the two gaps/crack whatever you prefer to call them. Then make what you might call a "fake" cover strip to run down the back, and mach the size cover strip to the back of the calf. So it still is a type of but joint. Obviously only approvable for basic and no higher. I am open to any other suggestions.

Not sure if just taking off the return edge will make enough of a difference for you. The originals had no return edge, if that helps, but if you are going to try and reshape before pulling them apart, use the bucket of hot water method and some twine wrapped around to make them a little more round. Echo fans all the way. Here's a quick tip for wiping your armour out, ....... Ready.........Baby wipes....Boom.. There you have it. You can buy a non scented variety, they are great for cleaning down the inside of your armour, bucket, he'll I even used them to clean down my carbon fibre road race bike. They come in packs of 240 for about $3. Any of you Aussies out there, the brand from ALDI stores is the cheapest and the best. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
