  1. Hi Jose, nice build. As a rule of thumb, your belt needs to sit right at the base of the main abb button plate, or slightly over the bottom of it. You may only need to tighten your belt to get it to sit where it should, so I would definitely adjust and post the new photo. I think the mic tips are fine as can have wear or weathering on the ends. Good luck with your application. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Congratulations and welcome to the EIB ranks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. AP is excellent armor, I love mine, but not only that, Mark is also a pleasure to deal with, and more than happy to answer questions you may have while assembling his kits. I may be bias, but you have made a great choice in armor. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Will always support you and direct peeps from my local Garrison to you, as I have done in the past and do here on FISD. For ROTJ, it's CFO all the way. [emoji3] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  7. CA glue is the quick trick here, but don't glue the full length in one hit. Glue 1" at the wrist end and clamp, hit it with zip kicker and weight 5 seconds . Wipe off the zip kicker. Know run the ca glue up the cover strip with bias towards the inside edge but join so any runs would be minimal and align the parts and hold tight for 30seconds to 1 minute..... Boom, forearm is complete. It's what I had to do and job was done in minutes not days. Use the green bottle Zappa gap as it gives you a little more time to move parts before it locks. Sometimes E6000 just to hard to work with when you have lots of outward force. Also ad some internal cover strips, they don't need to be full length but will give some added reinforcement. 8. Hi Edwin, nice armor. Could you please adjust your drop boxes so they align with the ends of the ammo belt, yours are sitting a little to far in. You will need to take another shot once they are moved and include it in your application. Great job by the way. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Hi Travis, welcome to the FISD. This forum can be overwhelming with information, but I am glad you found your way here. Click on this link for a start, lots of good info here, http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/ Research is the key to our hobby, and you will find that you are going to be doing a lot of it. As far as fabrication of armor, If you mean actually making the parts yourself, there is no need. We have plenty of vetted armor makers right here in FISD, so you can actually buy a kit of the parts, in turn you will need to trim those parts, and size them to fit. I guess its like a right of passage, building your own armor, and its heaps of fun once you start. Please ask plenty of questions, we are here to help, and you will find you have plenty of mentors. Step 1 Research , Determine which Stormtrooper you want to build ANH,(Stunt or Hero version), ESB or RotJ These can be found under the FILM CANNON CRLs Banner on the left side of the forum page. Step 2 Look at some of the armor builds from that particular Stormtrooper variant. Can be found here http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/31-costuming-and-builds-501st/ Step 3 Choose an Armour vendor. Please bare in mind different make of armor lend themselves to different body types, So Height and girth around your middle become factors to help make a decision. Step 4 The possibly long wait for your chosen armor to arrive on your door step. Use this time to continue research and acquire needed tools and various soft parts to complete your costume. Hope this helps you get underway, and remember, never guess, always ask the question, and measure twice, cut once. enjoy the journey.

  14. My Garrison CO wears a cooling vest under his Vader , last about 1 1/2 hours before it starts to work in reverse and the liquid pouches start to hold your body heat and make it really uncomfortable. We live in Queensland Australia, so it's Hot and humid 6 months of the year. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Stitch the Velcro to the gloves, at least that's what I did, and used industrial adhesive backed on the hand plates. I am however using the ABS plates with the Nomex gloves. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Very tidy build indeed, good luck but looks like an easy pass. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  18. Thanks for that, was thinking similar with the ABS past and an extra piece of ABS glued in the centre, but the sculpting clay is a good idea.. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Hi all Am currently helping a new cadet build his armor for basic approval, so I am chasing some suggestions on the below photo. Now this guy is a big unit, I mean solid. Unfortunately his anxiousness got ahead of his research, and he purchased a trimmed SDS. he is also 6'4", so has been fun and games for him getting this together. Unfortunately, today is the first day he has asked for help, so these thighs are glued at the front with CA glue, so cant adjust from there. The span of the gap is 70mm, so a cover strip would need to be roughly 100mm wide to facilitate the span. I think our friend is slowly starting to appreciate the term, Research, research, research, cause I've told him to talk to AM and see if he can order some biggger thighs. My thought process is to shim it like you would to your kidney plate for girth in Centurion (no gaps) and then make some ABS paste to fill the two gaps/crack whatever you prefer to call them. Then make what you might call a "fake" cover strip to run down the back, and mach the size cover strip to the back of the calf. So it still is a type of but joint. Obviously only approvable for basic and no higher. I am open to any other suggestions.
  20. Congratulations and welcome to Centurion rank. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. I have absolutely enjoyed every minute of this thread, start to finish. You have done an incredible job, and the stand is the icing on the cake. Thank you for sharing this with us, I love it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Not sure if just taking off the return edge will make enough of a difference for you. The originals had no return edge, if that helps, but if you are going to try and reshape before pulling them apart, use the bucket of hot water method and some twine wrapped around to make them a little more round. 23. Wearing AP, done quite a few troops, danced in it Haloweened in it and it is still perfect. I use Maguire's car polish to keep it shiny and white. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
