Yeah, it wasn't the lines so much as how Greedo delivered them what made it such a powerful performance.

As mentioned, you can make any armor fit you. Many of the parts are nearly the same length between makes, but how they are contoured/curved can make a difference in how they look. It can depend on your budget too, and what your preferences for what you want out of your armor are. Is looks your only concern, or something else?

I'm crying in my cups - that sure is beautiful. Rolf, eat your heart out! ;-) I think that's the best TM bucket I've seen. Supermodel for sure - how can it get better?

One of my garrison mate's used this: ------------ Very spendy but apparently worth the extra coin in terms of comfort. Alas, I'm using cheap an impolite person foam too and while it works it's embarrassing to show the inside of my helmet (it's green foam). It's really hard IMHO to find a good padding system as everyone's head is different, and trying to get them placed right w/o being cramped and reducing airflow is a trick that takes time to get right.

Delicious, is perhaps the best word I can find. Brilliant.

My Incenerator Trooper (Pic heavy)
Daetrin replied to dorsk88's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
That's because Walter could compete in featherweight. Can you believe that was an FX kit to start with? -
Rock on. Trooping is more than a hobby, and I while we have Uncle George to thank for Star Wars I give extra special props to Albin for creating the vision of the Legion and all it represents. Troop on dudes!

To be honest I thought it was paint when I first saw it. We're trooping tomorrow and I'll take more pix then too. -

Weeee! Thanks for posting Walter!! I do think you might be the first Incinerator Trooper in the Legion. -
What is an NGB Helmet? Origins?
Daetrin replied to Daetrin's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
LOL - true enough and apparently on another board he hinted at recasting CAP. It's an interesting point though - does CAP care if people recast him? -
What is an NGB Helmet? Origins?

No worries Stefan - you're in the clear and many of us have been in your situation. Heck, I have some clone shoes that I got that turned out to be from that pedophile at starfortress, but that was not known to me at the time. (ah well, lesson learned). To answer your question, CAP recasted TE before there was a TE2 and did some modifications to the molds. Apparently TE and CAP did a deal and all was forgiven. There is a good summary from FON here on that topic----------- As far as recasting from TE2 or an old TE...perhaps NGB will come clean and just be done with it. I'd guess TE2, but only so far as TE2 has had the molds for a few years now, and old TE's are hard to find. It's too bad NGB didn't get permissions or come to some understanding from the previous maker - the end product looks really good. -
What is an NGB Helmet? Origins?
Daetrin replied to Daetrin's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
tom - you're adding nothing to this thread regarding these helmets. We can create another one about the merits or not of recasting, but please let's stick to the topic. Else we'll start deleting. -
OK - some say it's recast, some say he made the mold himself. If you have evidence, share it. If you just want to spout the merits of recasting or not, please refrain. The purpose of this thread is to determine *what* it is and it's quality, not the ethics of recasting.

Black Under Clothing

Yup, that's what I wear - going on 4 years now (yes, I need some new ones). -
Enjoy it! This is a pretty exciting time - congrats!

Personally I like pictures and it's a great show-off. I'd say no on the details if they are just moving, but it doesn't really hurt as you're taking pix anyway. Heck, they're always cool to see so the more the merrier. New pix should be required when upgrading - heck you hit it once so there is trust that you can do it again - but you should for your garrison anyway so why not do a show-off here as well. It also keeps our process honest.

Would these gloves work?
Daetrin replied to Torisempai's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I'd say "no". The nomex seem to get a pass as they at least have leather on many key areas, and most of the fabric is covered by the hand plate. The ones you show are 100% fabric. -
My Hero-FX and Rubiesblaster!;-)
Daetrin replied to kroenen77's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I think it looks really good. There are some small details you can tweak like the holster attachment and adding a strap from the butt to the cod to keep that "tail" from drooping. Also, the undersuit looks like it bunches - it should be skin tight like a dive suit. I can see lots of shimming - you must be like Arnold -

ANH EIB Handguard Requirement?
Daetrin replied to Stormtrooper's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I had a similar situation when I trooped in Hawai'i. Not everyone wanted to tweak, but for those that did they were pretty excited that there was actually stuff they could do. I think many troopers don't even know where here. I think this is why the work Aaron is spearheading is so crucial - it's far easier to read through a static site than a forums.
