  1. #63 to be awarded the EIB. Way to go Expert Infantryman
  2. It is. Let me chew on it some. I'd like to hear especially from newer folks what they'd think of this.
  3. FYI I'm not trying to shut down the concept, just to explain the reasoning. Garrisons have an armor team so there is a dedicated POC for people to go to in helping get armor done. But part of the whole point of a detachment is the same purpose. Secondly, I feel good advice should be transparent. Part of my beef when I joined the Legion was that so much information seemed to be about who you knew, or who you could bribe to help you out. And even then, you got their opinion, which may or may not be the best advice. If the info is hard to find, we should make it easier to find.
  4. Pack: we'll use the same standards as MEPD, else it will be too confusing for troopers. As we review the screen caps, this may be tweaked. Pauldron: yes, this is limited to canon colors only. Custom parts. If someone makes a bunch of blinky flashy things will that be canon for this? No, not unless this is seen in the game. Type of Ammo Pouches and how many? I'll have to check the screen caps. I'm guessing same as the sandtroopers. Weapons: again we'll probably limit it to canon sources. What people want to do on top of that is up to them. NOTE: this is all a recommendation from FISD. It's the LMO/Legion that sets the true 501st standards.
  5. Yup. We'll have one soon enough too here for the HWT, but it's still WIP.
  6. Looks really good! Ideally the split should be visible under the belt, as we see this in a lot of shots in the ANH. Did you do the disk/cover conversion on that MG-34 too? It's a great job
  7. The whole point of this forum is to *not* have stuff in PM. All information should be transparent, lest we get people making biased recommendations behind closed doors. The only private stuff really is contact info for AP, really. If people are not finding answers easily, we should restructure the site or make an index. We already have kicked of an "academy" static site to help this as well. If people aren't getting their questions answered, that's a different problem. This whole forum is in essence the "armorers". Wyatt as Armor Chief is responsible for creating and selecting tutorials for the "academy" for now, but also handles tons of PMs as well. What other need is not being met - I really do want to hear so we can address it.
  8. I vote for the AP.
  9. Ouch - I see it as the opposite. It's pretty cool to hang out with other armors. We have TE2, AP, RT, and FX in my garrison but it's all good. It's more important IMHO that they have consistent details (like ab plate buttons, belts), than the make of the kit.
  10. Zhende me? Danshi ni hen gao le. Welcome to the 501st and FISD - it's great to see more members in the mainland
  11. These are great questions! I'd like to answer them based on the visual references provided, and in the context of the current standards for sandtroopers as well. For instance it's silly to have our pack requirement higher than that of MEPD.
  12. And you need to be cognizant that if you remove Velcro and use glue, that it will get ever so slightly narrower in diameter. I had the misfortune on my original thighs, that after gluing both sides the right one had become just that little bit too tight to wear any more
  13. Hey - can you please fill out your 501st profile data? At some point down the line - you may want to cut the cod and add a spacer between that and the ab plate. A few taller troopers have done this with good effect, and the belt hides the lines.
  14. Funny enough it's a gap in our requirements. We don't really specify anything about the holster, other than how it's attached. =
  15. No, but certainly is based on a working strategy. There is no way you can control a planet with only 1,000,000 soldiers in the classical sense of boots on the ground. What you really do is take over the governments and control major infrastructure like banking and energy, and the threat of the occasional nuke. As long as the government that's taking over isn't doing a much worse job, most people will just go about their lives.
  16. You can certainly start with velcro, but after a troop or so you'll start gluing. Everyone is different - on my FX I glued the fronts of everything but only the backs of my biceps and one thigh. On the TE2, it's all glue but the backs of the shins.
  17. I think for what you paid you got an awful lot done for you. Yes, there is some work left but about 90% is there already. Can't wait to see updated pix when you've got it completed.
  18. Yes, our very own piddle pack
  19. Alas, that's bad PR from the Rebels. "Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise" You can read TK-8020's blog on where the bad rap comes from.
  20. Would that we could all be as good looking in a kilt Happy St. Patty's day everyone!
  21. That's what I love about this place - there's always something new to learn. Great find guys!
  22. Gotcha squared - congrats bro
  23. I think it looks good and you should check the Elite requirements. I bet you are there, or almost so (hard to tell w/o a side or back shot).
