I'm wondering if just using a really good camera on a high def TV would work as well?

And my experience is not consistent with that Jim. My garrison mate uses mike tip speakers and I can hear him fine even on noisy troops too. Perhaps it has to do with the amp/speaker combo perhaps? EDIT: to be clear these are speakers *behind* the mike tips, not in them. He used blue tack to eliminate feedback.

TK 9174 Requesting ANH Hero EIB status![110][AP]

Congrats #109 -
It's all personal preference, but mine is to have them via the mike tips as I like that the sound is coming from the helmet, you can actually make them loud enough, and to me ideally my vox is 100% self contained in the helmet.

Nice! Do you have larger sizes avail?

Alas I don't trust Bing or Google to translate this perfectly so my apologies for posting this in English as well (my Spanish is limited to ordering beers and asking where the bathroom is, I'm afraid): First I'm excited to have this forum here in Spanish! It was a great idea of Damian's and I hope it will encourage more Spanish native speakers to visit FISD and be able to find help in their own language. Second, it's certainly possible to translate key sections of FISD to Spanish - the Academy site certainly supports multiple languages as well as this forum. I would like to extend an open offer to anyone, anytime, that if they find a particular section would that would be helpful to have translated and do so, I will find the means to ensure the Spanish version is posted. If there is anything I or FISD staff can do to help make FISD more accessible, please don't hesitate to ask. Saludos:

Alas I don't trust Bing or Google to translate this perfectly so my apologies for posting this in English as well (my German alas being limited to a few semesters in college): First I'm excited to have this forum here in German. TK 8311 requesting ESB deployment

What ever happened to this? Graeme, you were online just a few months ago - seems you could pop this easily and we should revisit. -
Sure - what do you want it called?

Done for Spanish - any other language that wants one, just lmk!

Pre-clearance photos (ANH Stunt)
Daetrin replied to Rich330's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Nothing jumps out at me that would prevent EIB, though I agree some judicious trimming on the arms may be in order. If you brush off your copy of ANH it will give you some great references to emulate. She can certainly do the Luke look, or trim more to try to emulate a regular height trooper. Long term you may try to taper the thighs more near the bottom - tricky but worth if if you can. Blaster may be the only issue...I suggest just posting in the Request EIB area and letting Terrell check it. -
Sure, I think think this is great. I need... What the forum category should be called, e.g. "International Assistance", or hopefully something more Star Wars in feel like "Galactic Embassies". Then just what each language specific forum should be called - I think each language can pick something fun, e.g. instead of just "Spanish Forum" something that highlights a Spanish language cultural touchstone.

Terry - I'd love to see a side by side of you and your garrison mate in his AM. It would be informative to see how they differ - both are nice suits really, as you say.

I'd say that you can pretty much wear whatever you want. I'm 6'0" and was 180lbs when I last bought armor. Personally I think the fan made sculpts such as RT, AM, and TM will be easier to make work for your build, though again people much larger than you have gone the TE/AP (and derived) route with success.

I think once when I was young I remember seeing Harrison Ford saying "bang" to indicate when he "fired" his blaster. I think "pow" is the closest word. Part of the sound was created by tapping on a wire barrier along side a freeway, so there is a little vibration & fade in/out to the sound. If you compare the original vs. SE editions, you can hear that they mixed more heavily the sound of an actual firearm (sounds like a large caliber pistol) to the mix, making it sound more like a real life gun and is lower in frequency. I've seen thwapp used too, but this just doesn't look as sinister on printed form, same with splatt or frwapp.

POLL: What glue have you tried, what actually works
Daetrin replied to Daetrin's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Good call - added that to the list to vote for. -
One - like the Legion we count people rather than costumes.

MEPD currently has 165 deployed Police Officers compared to our 108 Expert Infantrymen. Given that there are 2165 TK's in the Legion compared to 460 sandtroopers, we should easily be way ahead of MEPD for deployed troops. With the new AM armor and more suppliers of EIB-ready kit online, it's never been easier to get EIB. Can FISD rally to boost EIB membership to be higher than MEPD's? I think we can! Let's make it happen in 2010
