  1. Agreed - you guys are *awesome*!. If that's all you need, I sense a bulk buy of D-rings, etc. in the future. You could easily then be the largest garrison if EIB. You can do it - we can help!
  2. I must be old. It's a famous scene from Animal House with John Belushi. You really should see the movie : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077975/ Totally awesome.
  3. Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! What the **** happened to the FISD I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Daetrin, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my butt from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...
  4. And you thought we had it bad at times - check out the comments area... http://www.popsci.com/diy/article/2010-05/you-built-what-real-iron-man
  5. Congrats Eduard! The first EIB in Austria
  6. So, it would take someone outside California to ship it to the continent, who then has to ship it to the UK eh? Perhaps instead of one at a time one should ship a lot of 5 or so and do a group order that way?
  7. What's the process for shipping overseas - is it totally forbidden? Just wondering if I could serve as middleman if SF won't ship intl.
  8. Eventually FISD will pass MEPD - it's all numbers. 33% of Legion sandtroopers are MEPD deployed, only 5% of Legion stormtroopers are EIB. If we ever hit 25% of TK's, we'll have more EIB TK's than the Legion has sandtroopers. So...looking at percents FISD should be at 200 EIB by the end of the year if we're to make any real headway. That's my goal - 200 EIB by years end.
  9. We need to ascertain these details http://www.whitearmor.net/home/crl-overview/crl-anh-stunt.html You can look at other EIB request threads to see what others do.
  10. If you log on to the Imperial Officer detachment you can read all 13 glorious pages where rank badges are debated. http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=100 There are several competing schools of thought. Most start here : http://www.theforce.net/swtc/insignia/badges.html It's just for fun in the end - there certainly wasn't any planning when they made them for the movies - just what looked cool at the time.
  11. If you want plastic to match RT is a good choice, but so it AP. AP will have the asymmetrical look if that's what you want. RT will be symmetrical but lacks the raised ear bumps. TM is good as well. There is no one 'best' - it's all up to what you want.
  12. Congrats on being the first EIB from the newly minted Wisconsin Garrison. Go Badgers!
  13. Honestly the size difference between AP, TE2, and ATA is so minimal as to not really be a factor, IMHO.
  14. I sport TE2. I'm not sure why ATA & AP would be recommended and TE2 not on that list.
  15. Yup, just one picture away. You look great - can't wait for it to be official.
  16. I think you're ready for duty. We just captured a freighter vessel that blasted it's way out of Mos Eisley spaceport. Head on down to the hanger deck - they need some help. Vader's on the way and we need to make a show of it.
  17. I'm sure a UKG member can comment on the seller/it's origins.
  18. Honestly I think the recast impact is small. Once it's out, how many boards allow openly selling a members recast items? Also, in order to compete they'd have to be cheaper, higher quality, or both. And secondly, over time the differences are getting smaller and smaller. Back in the day the difference between an FX and AP or TE helmet were huge. The differences between the ANH helmets are far more subtle and at least for troopers become harder to justify shelling out a large difference in price for. Lastly, there is customer service. The plastic is only one part of the equation - the sellers that get the most traffic are those with solid reputations for quality, consistency, and honesty. My $.02, which is why my recommendation is that the seller is just as important as the product in making choices of where to buy.
  19. Terrell has final say, but I think it looks great. Personally I'd suggest a 1" strap for the chest/back instead of a 2" which looks huge, and perhaps allowing just a tad more gap between kidney/butt, and also trim the shoulder bells a little. Small items that don't affect EIB, but will enhance the look of your suit.
  20. And this is why we require 2 drop boxes. Screen caps have to be interpreted. Kudo's Mason for figuring this out
  21. Karin - you've done it again! I believe you have the crown for now.
  22. In the end market forces will always win out. He's got a beautiful product and to those that it's worth it, they'll buy. If you don't feel it's worth it, then you won't.
  23. I will watch your career with great interest...
  24. Again, I'd suggest re-reading http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=20 and http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=8583 first posts on each. It's both a way to help lead the 501st to a higher quality costume level and a recognition program that builds esprit de corp. It is *not* the trooping police. Just like you can be a MEPD Police Officer and choose to troop without your pack most of the time, you can always choose to troop with a blaster sans counter if you so choose. Heck, why not have two blasters? We have stunt and hero helmets, so it makes sense.
  25. The goal of 501st standards for *any* costume - not just the stormtrooper - and thus the direction EIB takes - is *not* to replicate every possible variation seen on screen. As noted there were a lot of corners cut and they just didn't care about these things at the time. They were only to be seen for a few seconds on some people. Else wouldn't every trooper look exactly the same? Not every sandtrooper had a pack either, not because there was logic to it but because they took them off for people who would take a tumble a few seconds later, or they just ran out of them so the guys in the background didn't need them as the audience would get idea. So the goal is to present what is canonically referenced and meant to be a common representation. For EIB we did the same thing - try to get the common and distinctive elements that were there. If you read through the intent of the EIB program and how MEPD started as well, the intent is not for 100% screen accuracy. The intent is to help raise the quality bar for 501st costuming in the direction of accuracy in a way that is readily achievable with a little time and effort. Remember that the 501st standards are *really* low for most non-EU costumes as they are about 10 years old now, and efforts to increase them always - as Padme would say - get stalled endlessly in committee.
