I saw this today in person and I wish we had taken side by side pix of it next to my HF MG-34. It came out really well and very close to the HF. Clay is very talented (as you can see from his daughter's foam trooper) and this is just another nice example of what can be done with a little time and talent. Well done Clay!!

Someday it will be, but we really need to have a higher percentage of the Legion's TK's be EIB first. There are still parts of the Legion where out-of-the-box FX is still OK. MEPD's program at 33% of Legion adoption is way higher than our paltry 5%. So for now, the goal is to get more people at least to where EIB is now before upping the standards.

I painted my AP w/o any sanding at all. Should be similar.

As an EU trooper it's the LMO. I just saw your app on the LMO 2010 approvals thread in the GML area, posted 27JUN. I gave you a pass, we'll see what the LMO says. He's a little behind, but should be caught up in a few days.

All the TE derived suits (ATA, TE2, CAP-W, AP, MC) are going to be very similar in size. The main choice is HIPS vs. ABS, second will be cost vs. sharpness of the molds. IMHO, all five suits are good, just pick which best fits your desires.

I would say for most ANH derived helmets you'll find more variation in how they are assembled and the bottom cut out then in the kits. A bit ago I tried on sequentially two TE2's, an RT, and an AP. The 'smallest' and the 'largest' were both TE2's. A lot can also be what you put in it. I have a hard time putting my big noggin head in my friends TE2 that has a full up RomFx, fans, etc. but can easily put that same head in a different TE2 that has...um just some pads on the ears and top of head.

And I had 7 d-rings sent to Gordon to help with the final blaster touches, so we should see seven new EIB from Singapore soon. Right Gordon?

Mark Gage used to put these inside the belt and folded the canvas over that. I thought this worked a treat - even for my sandtrooper for hip ammo pouches. You can instead just mount the plastic directly to the inside of the fabric belt, even using velcro if you wanted or E6000. Then you could mount the holster directly to the plastic rather than the fabric, and the external facing rivets would be purely decorative (heck, you can make the top two magnetic so you can easily swap between 'hero' and 'stunt'. Is this what you were looking for?

Hi Alexandra - you're in luck I'm from GT as well. There is a good group of folks in the Spokane area already. Please pop on garrison titan and say hello. As for as a costume, pretty much any make can be made to fit any body. AP will require a lot of trimming on your end as the kits are untrimmed and is not an easy first kit. It can be done if you get some local help. Otherwise, you may want to consider a different make such as AM or RT which are designed to be put together pretty easily and are also ABS. People you're size have done it - though it will mean a lot of plastic on the floor (but in this case, you're just removing plastic from the backs usually, not too bad). If you can, try to hook up with the Spokane folks and look at their costumes in person, or look us up should you ever come our way in Seattle. Lots of events in July ;-)

To me carbon scoring falls under 'weathering' if we specify the technique, e.g. blackwash or similar. What I want to say is that these costumes can be weathered in this fashion to appear used from the battlefield, as opposed to sandtroopers which are striving after a different look entirely. I guess it would depend on how far to take it, e.g. 'light' or 'medium', but perhaps not 'heavy'.

Really? When did you submit the space trooper? Would love to see pix - in fact it's really considered a standard TK and the space pack is an accessory.
