  1. The thermal detonator looks huge on that action figure. Looks more like a brandy keg. Hey! I kinda like the sound of that.
  2. HA! That brings back memories. I can hear my Dad yelling at me to grab him another beer.
  3. I've done nearly all those things. LOL. Thanks Chuck.
  4. Wow! that's quite a defect. I imagine it's the point where the plastic lifts off the buck just before the vac is applied. After the vacuum pulls the plastic in on the buck it kind of stretches or pulls at that point probably because there is a temperature difference between the plastic touching the buck on top and the plastic that hasn't lost as much heat. I can think of a lot of reasons for this. An extremely cold buck, a sticky buck (more talcum powder to allow the plastic to move on the surface), Thicker plastic that won't lose it's heat so fast as it touches the buck or quicker vacuum application. Interesting problem to solve. I hope you get it worked out with the vendor Sarah.
  5. I'll be there. Still trying to figure out how I can get my gear there. The aiorline charges extra for every little thing now.
  6. Happy Birthday Paul!
  7. You guys are cool.
  8. Nice job. There's not enough Stormtoopers on TV.
  9. Working......what's new.

  10. Trying to stretch the shin like that without destroying it might be tough. Unless you just need to change it's shape just a bit. I've tried the boiling water trick but didn't have much luck with it. ABS becomes pliable near 350 deg. Boiling water is around 200 deg. depending on elevation. The heat gun blows at around 450 deg. I've heard of guys putting parts in the oven set at 350 deg. for just a couple of minutes to warm them up. Either way be careful and wear gloves. I made a slump mold like this to form my side shims. Worked pretty good. Not sure I'd try it with a whole shin unless I had a form to lay it over.
  11. That second one is a little fishy. Are you sure it's coming from his hands?
  12. Looking great Steven. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on finishing your armour.
  13. Ole Speedy's looking good. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Awesome! Now you are a color sander. Works on your car too. Thanks for posting this. I've certainly suffered from these bad paint jobs. Next time I'll have enough guts to give it a try.
  15. Resurrecting my old nearly dead topic. I can't believe it's been over a year since I last posted in this thread?!!! What a hell of a year. I feel like I just climbed out of a washing machine after the spin cycle. Anyway, the vac form table is finally complete. A little bit of fine tuning to the hold frame and some solvent through the oil less vac pump and I'll be forming. Fully armed and operational 220 volt oven
  16. Terell, you are awesome.
  17. Good job! Selling your stuff is always the best compliment to your work.
  18. 4, 5, 6, 3, 2, 1. It really depends on how you look at it. Ep 4 had the biggest impact on my 11 year old brain. Nothing beats the summer of 77. In a different way the anticipation leading up to ESB and then finally seeing it was an amazing experience. I relived a lot of that before Ep1 but it was a bit of a let down in the theater. Probably because we had such huge expectations. I first realized that Ep1 wasn't working when I looked over at my wife who was sound asleep in the theater.
  19. I can visualize the old guy in overalls with the 6 inch paint brush painting them in Ainsworth's back yard. "When your done with those space helmets don't forget to finish the fence."
  20. Alright! Finally get to see an AM. Looking great so far.
  21. That's just wrong. Next he'll be resin casting the Rubies. LOL! My first car was a 74 Ford Pinto. Yeah, what a chick magnet. LOL!
  22. Bonnie, LOL. What would a Hutt trooper look like? Gotta go draw that. LOL!
