  1. Resurrecting my old nearly dead topic. I can't believe it's been over a year since I last posted in this thread?!!! What a hell of a year. I feel like I just climbed out of a washing machine after the spin cycle. Anyway, the vac form table is finally complete. A little bit of fine tuning to the hold frame and some solvent through the oil less vac pump and I'll be forming. Fully armed and operational 220 volt oven
  2. Good job! Selling your stuff is always the best compliment to your work.
  3. 4, 5, 6, 3, 2, 1. It really depends on how you look at it. Ep 4 had the biggest impact on my 11 year old brain. Nothing beats the summer of 77. In a different way the anticipation leading up to ESB and then finally seeing it was an amazing experience. I relived a lot of that before Ep1 but it was a bit of a let down in the theater. Probably because we had such huge expectations. I first realized that Ep1 wasn't working when I looked over at my wife who was sound asleep in the theater.
  4. I can visualize the old guy in overalls with the 6 inch paint brush painting them in Ainsworth's back yard. "When your done with those space helmets don't forget to finish the fence."
  5. That's just wrong. Next he'll be resin casting the Rubies. LOL! My first car was a 74 Ford Pinto. Yeah, what a chick magnet. LOL!
  6. Bonnie, LOL. What would a Hutt trooper look like? Gotta go draw that. LOL!
  7. Shoot. I'd go but the speeder is in the shop. It's a little too far for the dew back. Have a Happy Birthday anyway. I'll drink the beer from here.
  8. That guy is on it. Matt did an Awesome job. I would have loved to see the lenses usable. Note on the efx, It looks similar to the MRCE on one side but it is not idealized like the MRCE. It's completely asymmetrical like the original helmets. Kinda crooked and funky. It's made out of fiberglass so it's very heavy. Here's a pic of mine before I started working on it. It's sitting next to my MRCE. Notice the taller teeth, more accurate ears and the temple indentations are more accurate. I better get busy.
  9. LOL! I've got to send this link to my Scottish friend at work. He talks just like that. I can't understand him half the time.
  10. I'm thankful that I can support my family in this cruddy economy. I'm thankful that my Wife didn't die of the swine flu she had during the holiday. I'm especially thankful for the corn dog and the pop tart I had for thanksgiving dinner.
  11. Welcome back Steve. I've been out of the loop too. Just too darn busy these days. Twice the work for half the pay these days.
  12. Couldn't find any meaningful numbers either. Ended up using my Wifes cell phone number. 8776. I've got so many numbers in my head it was helpful to recycle one of them.
  13. That really looks like a fun troop. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Polystyrene in a mixable resin would be awesome. Does such a thing exist? I'm going to find out. All my resin is based on urethayne.
  15. 16 gauge mild steel is pretty easy to work with. I used a jewelers saw, files, hammer and a vise.
  16. Cool! Are they Urethane? Do they seem brittle when you cut the eyes out?
  17. I was issued my TK number in just a couple of days. It took 2 and a half months to hear back from my Garrison about my armor. Even after checking in weekly with them. Turns out my email address got listed as spam in their filters. They never got any of my whining emails and then eventually forgot about me. I think they were hoping that I would just go away. After a giant email barrage on them with multiple emails accounts and having to send my pictures to them again they informed me that I had been approved 10 days after I applied. Crazy communication breakdown. I would have gone over an knocked on their door but I live 8 hours from them. I'm stranded on an outer rim world. Makes it tough sometimes. Hang in there.
