  1. Funny thing, that's exactly my first planned mold for my vac form machine when it's complete. I'm 6'3" and the darn shins are just not working for me. I've shimmed them but that's not going to be a long term solution. Maybe I can make a shin worth looking at. I've got a big pile of fresh cut ABS waiting for me. Keep you posted. -John
  2. Hey Dave, Hope to seen you back on duty soon. Take Care. -John
  3. Man. I'm missing out. I just polished off a tiny bowl of raisin bran.
  4. Hey Jez, That's a first class job. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Nice looking blaster.
  11. Another busy weekend and only minor progress on the fun stuff. I welded on the top brackets for the frame clamps. Hopefully tomorrow I can finish them up. They look like they are going to work perfect.
  12. I sent him an email a few weeks ago. Still no response. I've got some of his info here. I think I'm going to try to contact him. I'll let you guys know if he's ok. -John
  13. I haven't done much trooping yet but I already have a great memory. Have you ever been disemboweled by a six year old with a light saber? very memorable.
  14. It's been a crazy couple of weeks. Things have been coming apart at the seems around my place. My monster house is trying to eat me. I finally got it under control for a few minutes and was able to get back to the Vac form table today. Here's this weeks progress. I hinged the frame to the table and the two halfs of the frame together. Next up I'll be welding on the latches for holding frame and working on the platen. -John
  15. How about a hobby iron to go along with the heat gun?
  16. Cool! After cleaning duty report to bay 94 for the weapons test.
  17. I found these very helpful. utility knife with sharp blades. (Much better than an exacto for scoring long straight cuts.) Wear gloves. sanding block for cleaning up the edges. Fabric tape measure. Novus polish.
  18. Pretty funny.
  19. That is ridiculous. The school system has lost it's brains. The ironic thing is we expect them to teach our kids. I have a little 5 year old grandson that was in kindergarten last year. His best friend at school brought a little rifle from a star wars action figure to class. Can you believe the teacher freaked out and sent the little guy to the principle. His punishment for bringing a gun to school was suspension for 3 days. WTH! When I was in school I was on the rifle team. We had a firing range at the school. They taught hunter safety too. I'm afraid the world went insane when we weren't looking. Some call what we do escapism. When I hear stuff like this I have to agree with them. Yes, we are escaping from insanity.
  20. Hey Scott, Welcome.
  21. Getting them in the ol blind spot. Good point. I guess budget cuts removed the HUD that previous troopers enjoyed.
