  1. Here's those pics I promised. A couple of Guys from the Golden Gate Garrison. I attempted to introduce myself and asked them if they ever came by the FISD but all the questions made them nervous. They probably couldn't hear me very well under their helmets anyway. The next day we went over to the Letterman Digital Arts Center to hang out with Yoda. This is were Licensing, ILM and Lucas Arts live now. Then up to the Big Rock Ranch down the road from Sky Walker Ranch. Licensing used to live here. Not sure what's going on there now but I have seen pictures of Dave Filoni out in front of this facility. Maybe that's were he's working these days. We spent the morning hiking the hills behind Big Rock. Then went down to geek out around the front gate of Sky Walker Ranch. Overall it was a fun weekend and a funny movie. If you get a chance to go see it, I highly recommend it. You'll laugh your a$$ off.
  2. Well we hit the road, rumbled with some Trekies and a couple of snow storms. Stormed the ranch and saw the movie. What a blast. I thought it was great fun. I absolutely loved the movie. Can't wait to see it again. We met up with some guys from the Golden Gate Garrison and the Rebel Legion that were trooping the movie. I'll post some pictures when I get home tonight.
  3. Have you guys run into this kind of trouble before? God forbid anybody messes with me while I'm trooping. Something might happen that gets me kicked out of the legion. Not in front of the kids though. Might have to drag them into an alley.
  4. Hey! I just got mine. These are nice voice amps. Really good quality. I like the fact that they are 9 volt. Nice and compact. I highly recommend it. Get em while they're cheap.
  5. Finally! I got the show time info. Reserved a hotel room for the weekend and bought my movie tickets. Road Trip!
  6. Any idea where in SF you're heading? I'm having trouble locating movie times and locations.
  7. Hey Guys, do any of you have any big events planned for the Fanboys opening night? Looks like I'm going to have to load up the party bus and head for San Francisco.
  8. HA HA! You're the first person I've ever ran into that did the same thing. Thanks for reigniting my memory of the tape change. Those old tape decks would make a big clunk when the tape ran out. Then the noisy fast flip in the dark. I wish I still had them. It would be a blast to hear the audience again after all these years.
  9. Those old horror movies are good. Really takes me back to my childhood. Pre Star Wars. King Kong, Frankenstein, etc. Speaking of classics, how about Silent Running and some of the old Planet of the Apes movies and just about any Ray Harryhausen monster movie.
  10. Well Thayne pretty much covered my list. I agree with Darrel about the original Blade Runner. the only thing I might add is Last Man Standing and the Indiana Jones movies.
  11. Great tip. I just bought one to try out. Can't beat the price.
  12. That's really cool. Thanks for sharing. I used to love buying Starlog. I'm pretty sure my first issue was after Star Wars came out. It was immediately dissected and hung on my wall so all the best pages could be seen at once. Somewhere I have a picture of my SW magazine wall. I'd sit there staring at all the pictures and listening to the cassette recording I made of the movie after sneaking my tape deck into the theater. I must have listened to that tape a thousand times. I can still hear that audience in my head every time I watch Ep4. I can't even remember the last time I saw a movie where everyone was so excited. Clapping, cheering and yelling at Darth Vader all the way through. Fun times.
  13. I don't know what I'd do without the Force Cast. Listening to those guys is like having a Star Wars beer party with your best buds every week. They really make me laugh.
  14. Hey Thayne, I don't have much planned this weekend except getting over a dumb cold. Sounds like tomorrow I might have to go shovel some of that snow. What doesn't fall on your head as rain will be piling up in my driveway. Today I got in an hour of Force Unleashed and listened to the Force Cast. Worked on the E11 a bit while watching clone wars recorded from Friday. Besides the cold it's been a good Star Wars weekend.
  15. Cool. Thanks for the info. I'll have to grab some of that to mess around with.
  16. HA HA HA "not an ordinary thermos for you but the extra best thermos you can buy with vinyl and stripes and a cup built right in I'm picking out a thermos for you and maybe a barometer too and what else can I buy so on me you'll rely a rear end thermometer too "
  17. Those are great. Reminds me of a costume party I went to. My friend was Chewy and I was Vader. The costumes weren't great but we sure had fun.
  18. Sintra, that's a PVC foam board? Do you seal it with anything special after you shape it?
  19. You do great work Tony. Thanks for sharing your project.
  20. You nailed it! What a feeling. I've really gone through a lot of those dual emotions while wearing my armor. The last new one was at Halloween. Confirmation from the trick or treaters parents that I was a dork and their kid screaming bloody murder when I came at her with candy. Emotion: "Ohmygawd! I'm a dork and Crap! I'm terrorizing a kid!" It's been a liberating experience. Armor's looking good Phil.
  21. Nice work Thomas. What did you scratch build them out of? They look great.
  22. Boba was in a cartoon segment. The only present was an anti viral agent for the Talisman virus. Kinda funny. Check out the segment: Boba Christmas Special segment 1st time I've seen it since 1978. Check out 3PO's neck. gasp!
