TK 26640 reporting for duty
T-Jay replied to Brynhyfryd's topic in Newly Approved Members - Sound Off!
Hi Warren, welcome aboard. -
The potos indicate, this Anovos E-11 kit has a good quality. Being a TK, I would though not go for it because of the following reasons: No ring at the end cap, no charging handle, no selector switch, no muzzle screws, no clearing stripe on the inner bolt and no ejector at the magazine well. However, it surely is a good base kit for a Sandtrooper's Bapty build - especially because of the chopped receiver tube, type of magazine (open) and the shape of the trigger guard. Just my 2 cents.

Congratulations and welcome to the team, Colin.

Sorry but I am located in Germany, not the UK. Wish I could help though... I would give Tony's idea a try and look for the screen accurate poppers.

I can not access to the run of celebration Chicago patches

Hi Luis, maybe that is because you need 501st access first. You can request it here with your TK ID. -

Good luck Jennifer. Looking good. -
I guess he did not receive the confirmation email from FISD?!?! Same happened to me recently and I was locked out. Still getting no emails from FISD...

Great start Matt. Everything looks well organized. Good luck with this build.

What the heehaw am I doing wrong?! (A DD pipe dream)

Absolutely! The only thing I would suggest is to turn around that top cover on the magazine. The hole belongs to the other side. -

Good job, Jakob. You seem to have a very good printer. I expected a lot more texture on the surface but this looks smooth and clean. -
To avoid the turn-around time from DoopyDoo's you can also get their full resin kit from me. I always have some in stock (only opened for an inventory check, so I guarantee no missing parts). This would make even more sense, in case you want to use the opportunity and grab a Completion Set, optionally with finished scope rail and/or Hengstler counter. Hm, sounds like an advertisement, but I just wanted you to know your blaster options. And resin is not that bad for trooping, most TKs I know are using resin blasters.

That looks much more accurate than the resin piece from the DoopyDoo's kit. Are you going to add the wing stubs on the outsides? -
Gun Rack for Blasters with some modifications
T-Jay replied to T-Jay's topic in General Weapons Discussion
@CableGuy, @Thumpy~ and @giskard8 Thank you guys, I really appreciate your words. It was time to finally fill this cabinet with something. Good idea Dave. Now with all the things inside, the cabinet appears darker and makes it harder to look at the interior. I already thought about LED lights but had totally forgotten the internal grid. It is still in my basement. Will have a look and try to incorporate it in the future. Thanks for reminding me of that. -
Just wanted to mention an issue, that surely many users had: When writing a new comment, the soft-buttons for 'Insert other media' and 'Submit Reply' are so close to each other, you can easily hit the wrong one. No big deal if only type text, but really annoying if you want to add photos and suddenly your comment went live. Idea: move the 'Submit Reply' button to the opposite side or add a pop up window 'Are you sure you want to post this now?' (or something like this). Just an idea, as I have no clue about webpages and how difficult this is. I love the FISD so just wanted to suggest something to improve the page a little bit.

That was a good one.

Would a diagonal placement work? Or what about hiding it in that gap between scope, counter and receiver tube?

Gun Rack for Blasters with some modifications
T-Jay replied to T-Jay's topic in General Weapons Discussion
Okay, here are some close ups of the stands after equipping them with E-11 blasters. Below is the small fat stand. And here the slim wide one (looks better in my opinion). The top view shows the different dimensions and positions on the base: While one stand was meant to sit on the bottom of the large cabinet, the second stand required a shelf to rest on. Another MDF board seemed a bit simple to me, so I added two drawers, which I had found at work and painted them. These are perfect for smaller things like scopes and my counters. And this is what it now looks like with everything in there: Enjoy your weekend. -
Gun Rack for Blasters with some modifications
T-Jay replied to T-Jay's topic in General Weapons Discussion
Thanks for the kind words, Joseph. Hm, not that easy as all these weapons have absolutely different dimensions. First thing in my mind is a wall mounted type of rack, where you can hang your blasters vertically. But then, it would need some sort of lock or barrier to prevent dropping them. Give me some time to think about it. If I come around with a useful idea, I will send you a PM. -

To pick up another design idea from the original blaster rack, I found the exact same two circuit boards again and cut them to size. -

Update #08 - Equipping the cabinet Since the installation of the blaster rack inside that steel cabinet, I thought about ways to fill it with Star Wars stuff. The LEGO collection was too big and looked wrong there, but the good thing on this cabinet is the flexibilty. Number and position of shelves can be changed at any time to meet future requirements. During the last years I came across different blaster stands here on FISD with individual styles and always wanted to build some myself. Apart from this, that would be something much more suitable for this cabinet. I thought about two blaster stands with a design based on the existing gun rack. So here is what I did.
