  1. Unless they change tactics I think you'll find the tier 1 offering will be 1200 with a plastic helmet. 1800 with a fiberglass selfdestructing prone helmet. For kits. 2000 and 2600 for built kits.
  2. I just looked and hit menu gloves and no password needed.
  3. Case in point: if you'd asked, we wouldn't have let you buy a rubies costume. Save you 600.00. Is that worth a little flak?
  4. So. Examples help. How do you know they are 501st members? Are they calling overpriced costumes overpriced? Bad work bad? Scoundrels scoundrels? A spade a spade? People have the right to express an opinion . a personal opinion. Not in costume and not an official 501st opinion. "That won't pass inspection." Is a nice military term for "that's garbage don't buy it / wear it/ sell it." I think you'll find that many 501st members are guarded. And trying to keep people from wasting thousands of dollars on ...fecal matter. So I am curious what has been said to you, under what circumstances, and where.
  5. Treat everyone how you want to be treated on your first day, or first date.
  6. Nothing is approved out of the box. It has to look correct. It has to fit properly. I've seen a suit out of the Philippines that looks good. I've seen online crap...that's crap. The prices are less than the licensed supplier. The amount of work should be the same.
  7. When you move your hand around does it still appear that the stitching is real?
  8. I think he means the fake snap on the right hand side not the crotxh rivet? But yes the snap is a centurion thing. I just had it put on from day one to hold the armour closed.
  9. I've used all sorts of plastics for rc models and other fabrication. I don't dispute hips as good at all. I'm more interested in his worries that it's hips vs abs for the longevity of the shatterpoints of the armour, and more concerned about a recast suit...was it direct from anovos or bought from someone else?
  10. I did say usually. I didn't say hips because the op didn't mention hips.
  11. Styrene doesn't usually vacuform well. It's too brittle. Easy way tell is cut a strip and bend it. Abs bends and turns white. Polystyrene will shatter and crumble. Abs is a form of styrene.
  12. Get a photo bucket account and upload there then just post the links here.
  13. Because an NDA is signed when you buy it and these are marketing kit prices not retail kits so not public. If you are a 501st member this shouldn't be a problem. If you aren't and you buy a retail kit again it won't matter because there will be threads for retail kits. If you want 501st access get a imperial crewman costume and join. Cheapest way.
  14. Thanks everyone who poked and prodded me to finish. It's an honour to be the first EI and Centurion in the Capital City Garrison and I hope I can help push others along the same path.
  15. Thanks Sly Here are the pics requested: hovi tips : D-Ring thermal detail in a conversation before submitting pics Steve told me that rivets were fine. screws are certainly more screen accurate, like wire loops and ribbon to attach armour together, and decals vs paint, but rivets and screws both acceptable. my suits seen 46 troops ...about 110 hours...since january...i'm surprised its not in death trooper state yet. i've got my bucket in res now and will clean up the black not that i've got a hood and fan set up. thanks!
  16. That's the policy at my college campus as well. No tk on Oct 30 for me I guess.
  17. We're trooping specific events and can wear whatever we want. But they'll know its us. If I walk into a movie theatre in full tk load out...I expect a sudden lead allergic reaction.
  18. ...just leave weapons at home. Unless it's an official troop and then still no weapons.
  19. The threads hold the white onto the black. I used small surgical scissors and cut each loop.
  20. I'd take two sets. Pre curved would be even better.
