  1. I still just don't understand how they can send those people out there in that gear that so poorly defines an ICONIC character from a now DISNEY owned franchise. It boggles my mind.
  2. You will always need extra glue - never a bad thing to have;)
  3. Power cylinders shipped! Should have pic updated in the next 4-5 days!! Wahoo!!
  4. I purchased an average guy sized already done RS kit- as I'm an "average sized guy". It is amazing- perfectly assembled- but the mid section ab and kidney didn't line up right when I squeezed it around me- and for some odd reason, I couldn't close the shins in the back. I don't have huge legs at all While your right horseman- "it is a one click and ya got it" even if you are perfect size- something (probably many things) will need adjusting. If you haven't don't any research, and just want to "buy a storm trooper costume" you will have no idea where to start. That's what rubies and Jedi robe banks on. When I first started and had no idea- I first looked at them and To the untrained eye- those kits looked darn good! Now- the second I see one I can immediately pick apart everything that is so terribly wrong with them
  5. From personal experience and a common consensus of those on the boards here- the only way you will have a build that will fit you correctly, and that you will be happy with is to do the research and build it yourself. I was in he same position as you- and my wife talked me into doing the work. I'm so glad I did. I learned a ton along he way- met a lot of awesome people and truly have a build that fits me perfectly and I'm proud of. I've also bought a full RS kit that was from someone around my dimensions- and it's no where near as comfortable, or eye appealing as the one I built. Do the research and build it- you'll thank me later
  6. Thanks you ALL for such awesome feedback the whole way through my build and and the suggestions mentioned above. In my almost 17 months completing this build- I did so with Centurion in mind and I'm glad to know I'm not far away!! All of the suggestions are simple fixes and I completely agree that they will only add to the screen accuracy of my build. I've already ordered my power cells- and will have bells, back plate trimming, TD screw paint, and traps finished TODAY! I'll post the pics as soon as my cells come in- in the meantime- thanks again! Centurion here I come! Ty
  7. Good catch on the thigh. True story- worked to get that garter perfectly even before the pics were taken. Right before pics were shot- my 7 year old, 2 year old and 3 month old all decided at the same time the world was ending. I spent more time running back and forth solving crisis- than standing still to take pics. At least I know now I'm ready for my first troop this morning!! The thigh was really the only thing that shifted a little nothing else came undone or unsnapped
  8. Hi there, I'd like to request EIB status for my NE ANH TK Stunt build. Thank you for the review- and as others before me I welcome any and all thoughts, suggestions or feedback! 9. Here's just some of the story-
  10. I saw it on the chive earlier. Amazing-
  11. Just like me and maxsteele- never thought I'd finish, and used your threads for so much of my research.. Glad to see all 3 of us finish up the NE build!!
  12. I usually don't chime in on these type posts, but feel the urge . At 35 years old, with 3 kids myself and a professional job- I can completely understand where you are coming from. To the fact that In the past year and a half while I finished my first TK build, I was reluctant to tell anyone what I was doing. As if dropping the $700 for the armor kit wasn't bad enough, I now found myself at about $1200 in total equipment purchased and tools...(now finding that isn't so bad after all) - but really started asking.... All of this for a costume? Then I came back to why I started in the first place.. Many before me have said it...but being a LIFELONG Star Wars fan, specifically stormtroopers..I knew one day I would build one. And after my first troop..seeing the small kids smile, and walk up slowly to me to give a high five then look back to their parents...and they both have the biggest smile on their faces..I knew I was doing something special. For both them...AND ME. BE PROUD, this is a fun hobby and it truly makes a difference.. The people we see tell us so.
  13. Yep- gonna knock that out before I snap photos for EIB - thanks!

  15. Hi all!! I'm PROUD TO INTRODUCE--- the newly approved member of the Tampa Bay Garrison, TK- 55239 reporting for Duty!!!
  16. Well - the time has come!! I submitted my application tonight for my local garrison (the Tampa Bay squad) and with any luck will be trooping soon- here are the final pics of my build --- Any and all feedback is appreciated!!
  17. So I'm playing with the foam padding inserts, and have read through the threads around using the military helmet padding- and even the hard hat liner. Do you guys have any insight from troops as to which seems to work best for both comfort and holding the bucket still on your head?
  18. Thanks all! Next question- (open to anyone who cares to answer) How snug should the bucket be when putting it on? As of right now- I can only put the helmet on by turning it sideways. And even then- it's a tight fit on. Should it be that way?
  19. Hi all- used pencil width as my guide and re placed my tube stripes. They now sit higher on the cheek- they look more in line with the cannon pics
  20. Thanks all for the feedback! I will post updated pics shortly. I'll use the second set I have and move em up-
  21. Do mine seem ok- or are they to low? I don't see anything on the requirements that state they wouldn't be ?
