  1. Do they sell them locally in stores, our order only? That one place is the only spot I've had a problem -- SO FAR
  2. The heavy duty snaps from Joanns- the same that I used in the rest of my build- just that when I lift my arm- it pulls directly downward on the snap causing it to pop off
  3. Lol- great suggestion. I spent last few days racking my brain coming up with some really complex solutions- when something so simple was right there- THANKS
  4. Hey all - just a quick question here - I have what I consider to be the "traditional" strapping method to attach my shoulder bells to the shoulder straps. I have a small 1" piece of black elastic that has snaps on both ends- one connecting to my shoulder strap before- the other end connecting to the inside of the top of the bell. You can see it here: The problem I'm having is that when I raise my arms, the snaps at the top of the bells almost always come unsnapped- leaving my bells to fall. Does anyone have any suggestions or other strapping methods that have worked better?? Thanks!
  5. For someone who, as you put it "sucks" at hand painting-- WOW- nice work! Just shows that even if your not the best at detail work, a little time an patience can work wonders. Well done- looking great
  6. For the helmet- Just my recommendation of course, but I suggest using screws to secure the faceplate to the cap and back. This way you can EASILY remove it if you ever need to make interior adjustments. Rivets can be removed but typically require a hammer to "pop" out the rivet.. And that would scare me waaaaaayyyy more Take a look at page 8 of my build for how I connected the two just for an idea of what I'm talking about http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/24285-New-NE-build-Tampa-Fl
  7. -22 Celsius for a troop!? Now that's a trooper for ya! Nice build! Looking sharp. I like your strap system, the snap buckles seem like they would make suiting up very consistent and simple each time. Other than the aforementioned suggestions, that right forearm seems rather larger on your arm, compared to the left. Almost like its wanting to slip down and fall onto your wrist. Your sniper plate looks like it tucked itself under your left thigh in the first few pics. A simple fix for that is a foam pad e6000 glued to the inner shin- pushing that shin out a little. Just a few suggestions- Good luck with your approval!
  8. Looking good! May want to square out the teeth a little more, the square lines should follow the contour of the frown. A little less "Twinkie" shaped-
  9. Was looking forward to seeing this one go for Centurion! Great build and good luck!
  10. Looks really good - I got a little lazy and less brave on mine. Left the top of my kidney without a return. Your post made me feel brave enough to maybe try it nice work!
  11. I'm certainly not throwing any names out there, but when I started my build the only place I knew for my research was the FISD family. It wasn't until looking for my 501'st approval that I was pointed to my local garrison- when my approval was complete- and I signed up for my first troop I was met with a lot of disdain for the the FISD group. I mentioned shooting for EIB and Centurion and a few other TKs here locally snickered and made light of "trying to impress anyone in "that group". It certainly hasn't been my experience here - but Steve your absolutely right on. There are some false perceptions and I experienced it first hand.
  12. Mine is still pending - but I only put it in yesteray
  13. Guess I might be looking in the wrong spot - but where is the membership database , or your profile data. I'm on the 501 main boards/ but just not seeing it
  14. I'd stay away until we actually have some solid footage from the movie to build from.. This may be WAY off when it comes to details
  15. Hooray!!! Thanks guys- coming from the "big brown box" - to being accepted to the ranks of Centurion is definitely a proud moment for me. When I first stared my trek to becoming a TK- I had no idea what level of detail was put into this- and it was a super fun process- I'll be doing it again shortly with some armor for my kids #ADDICTED Steve- as for the back traps... Those ARE decals- and they came with the NE bucket. I'm going to try and use some grey paint to even out the vent lines, but I fear that the grey from the decal and the grey paint won't mesh perfectly and I'll end up taking them off.. Then I can paint them like the rest. My anxiety of painting that large area has decreased- having built confidence in the other areas
  16. Ty Murphy 55239 Centurion Letter Please and thank you !!
  17. I'll add the black paint as soon as I get home and post updated pic of TD screws. Easy fix
  18. Easy fix with the Velcro. I originally used it because it wasn't visible and I really didn't want to glue snaps on my armor. If you notice on my belt- I have the snaps there ready to go- I just never added to my ab. I guess I could if needed - but lowering he industrial Velcro keeps it from ever rearing its ugly head again lol. (If ya look back to my EIB- it's not visible there). As for the kidney- it was a fit thing to look good and balanced. The NE armor was a little big on me- and leaving the kidney as is made my back pieces look way out of proportion.

  20. See how the bottom of the chest - bends in- to add depth? You leave that return on some pieces- shave some of it off- or remove it all together-
  21. Not really - if ya look at your armor (having not been trimmed yet) there should be a 90• degree bend on some of the armor. Look at the bottom of the chest plate for example - were it turns in- that's the return. Here's a pic--
