  1. Congrats Andrew- awesome finished product and it fits your like a glove! Welcome to the ranks
  2. I taped mine off- and used silly putty to fill the teeth holes. Worked great
  3. I guess it's not necessary- but I cut a small square from an old t-shirt and doused in in superglue and laid it on the inside of the helmet / mic tip area. Just for simple extra reinforcement. Worked well for my peace of mind
  4. Super glad to be part of the FISD- congrats to all and I really think Snaps said it well - were here to help you make this the best costuming and build environment it can be
  5. I'll definitely be there, being in Tampa I should make a few of the weekends
  6. Haven't tried it.. But my fear would be if your hand shook and you messed up- there's no going back (that I know of). At least with paints theres mineral spirits to clean up any boo boos
  7. Kind of tough to see the depth from the angle the pic is taken. Maybe post one from the front?
  8. Great thread btw- I was in bands most all the way through high school and my fav band then and still now (and mostly my influence to music) was the Beatles. But of course to be different - I merged their worldly sounds with the grunge era and mimicked Nirvana. A lot lol. Most people don't know that before Nirvana was Nirvana - they were PencapChew. Even have a rare song titled it. So virtually anything I do online is hat or some derivation. 510 is my birthday (may 10)
  9. Looking really good so far! Your sides are lining up nicely - and the chest/codpiece looks like it's fitting well. I thing maybe your sniper plate will "untuck" from your thigh once you secure the back , but if it doesn't a little foam in the front of the shin helped me. Also- it looks like both of your forearms are rocked out to the sides- are they connected yet?
  10. Yep- I had mis labeled my bells thumbprint is on the left
  11. I think those guide marks are good for the finished ear. The problem with STARTING by trimming to there is if you over cut anything your leaving very little to work with. I would just start by trimming the round piece first and fitting it where you want in the notch of the faceplate to the back. Once you get that lined up- start taking little by little off of the ear curve until you've got a nice fit. Work your way DOWN to that cut point - don't start there
  12. Very nice clean build. - I'll go on a limb and say should be a no brainier! Good luck!!
  13. Looking great! Love the boiling water trick. Worked like magic
  14. Hahahah! I might just buy to so it can be destroyed , and put out of its misery lol
  15. So just got done gluing down the elastic to he inner part of the bell.. Once dry- I'll let ya know how it worked! Thanks again all-
  16. I'm gonna give the direct glue method a try and leave the snap on the shoulder bridge. That seems like it should do the trick
