  1. Very nice.
  2. Assuming you can get the requisite number of troopers, it sounds like establishing a squad within the BG is the way to go. The Florida Garrison is subdivided into several squads, you might want to talk to them for some practical advice.
  3. Congratulations! Leaving the military after a long career can be a pretty jarring transition, but having a sweet job definitely helps. As does a nice, steady retirement check (or as many vets call it - your retainer fee from Uncle Sam ) Like T. said, will you be staying in Japan? What will you be doing with NG? Have you been assigned to any cool projects?
  4. I'm sure one of our expert E-11 builders can help you with that. But first, how about heading on over to New Member Introductions and telling us a bit about yourself?
  5. Sorry to hear it, but totally understandable. You've always been a great guy to buy from. I hope everything settles out soon.
  6. It looks like you nailed it perfectly. Great job with all the extra ANH Stunt details (1 attachment on each holster strap, latex hand plates, painted boots, etc.)
  7. There's a guy in my garrison who owns an auto body repair shop. When he's not fixing cars, he uses his painting chamber to paint costume parts. The results are absolutely AMAZING!
  8. That's definitely FX armor, as such it's made out of ABS. Helmet looks like an AP. Is that Tony M.'s old set? Whomever you bought it from was well on their way to EIB, I see they've already incorporated the EIB-required mods. They even threw in a better-than-FX set of handplates.
  9. Hi Gina! Welcome to the wonderful, plastic-goodness of white armor. Posting some pics of your newly-acquired rig would help us to positively identify it, and with that, what kind of plastic.
  10. You must have a tiny head. I can't even get a bare AP on my head without a mighty struggle.
  11. Some "then" vs "now" photos would be good.
  12. Well said and I totally agree. In addition, awarding these to current staff members can create the perception of favoritism/cronyism.
  13. It's pretty amazing how such a small thing as changing the buttons can make such a big difference.
  14. Agree on the suit, excellent job getting it fitted to you, especially on the thighs. 501st acceptance should be a foregone conclusion. Ryan, the silver mylar strips is an FX-thing, and shouldn't be there anyway. You don't see them on other kits, and you won't see them present in any ANH reference photos.
  15. Another well-executed TM. Need closeup pics of the blaster and helmet.
  16. Agreed. Carrie Fisher sure was good-looking back then.
  17. I don't see why you couldn't, althought depending on your garrison you wouldn't be allowed to wear it at certain events. I also doubt you'd get a special designation, you'd simply be a well-accesorized TK. I have a TK lightsaber that I wear at cons. Most other events I keep it at home, since a lightsaber-wielding stormtrooper tends to confuse everyone except EU-familiar fans.
  18. Glad to see you here Rob, and thanks for giving us bigger guys a great option! Looking forward to seeing comparison pics of the new bucket.
  19. I'm really looking forward to seeing how that comes out.
  20. Welcome. RT-Mod is slightly larger than FX in terms of both length and girth. It was specifically sculpted with bigger guys in mind. There's a thread here somewhere with some RT vs FX comparison photos. Regardless, you'll have to accept that at your height you'll have more undersuit showing than someone who is closer to screen-accurate height (around 5'10"). Typical problem among taller troopers, myself included. Best to avoid the FX bucket, it's still Legion-accepted but is quickly falling out of favor.
  21. Holy crap! I would LOVE to do something like this! The odds of me being able to pull it off are slim to none, but a guy can dream.
  22. Maybe she goes both ways.
  23. I can help you out with both the lenses and tusks. Check our garrison board for details.
