  1. If you want to contact Deckard it's better to email him (as opposed to PM), since he's not on the boards all that often.
  2. Really?!? Are you kidding me?
  3. Any idea on how one would acquire a copy? Or do I just need to watch eBay, craigslist, etc.
  4. This issue is being addressed by the FISD staff and will handle any actions as a result. In the meantime, keep these discussions civil and on-topic.
  5. Agreed, that is a sweet trooper - I'd love to see it in person one day.
  6. Recasting aside, you're better off with what you already have. And I agree with Alex - it looks like a chopped up Rubies Supreme. At $900 a set (Rubies Supreme retails for $900 - coincidence?), a horrendously overpriced one at that.
  7. Yep, I really like the idea of an animated gif.
  8. I keep my head straight and put the helmet on with the face to the right. Once it's all the way down, I screw it into place. Nice photo - always enjoy looking at TM armor in action.
  9. Looks like a safe place to start. Always better to trim less at first, then trim more if need be after assessing the form & fit. Here's an idea: You could trim the sides so that the chest/back just touch, similar to what the ab/kidney pieces should do. I'm seriously considering the idea of trimming my soon-to-be ordered AM kit in that manner. Granted, it's not screen-accurate, but I kind of like the idea of being completely encased in armor and not having my ribs exposed.
  10. Wow, the MRCE ear-bump mod is taking it to the next level. Did you somehow modify the MRCE ear cap, or replace it entirely? One nit - it looks like the ribbed shoulder strap on the right side is really sticking up in the back. I understand that for screen-accuracy it's supposed to float, but can you use a heat gun (or boiling water) to reshape it, adding more of a curve to it so that it lies more on top of the back piece? Good looking kit you have there. Not a lot of dual-EIBs, in fact I only know of one.
  11. Congratulations, Vern, and kudos for having the perseverance to get the mods done and approved.
  12. Thanks for the warm welcome, all. Although I won't pretend I could hope to fill Tony's shoes (like I told Paul - the world needs more people like him), I plan to do my best to help maintain the welcoming atmosphere of this forum. The FISD has become my favorite online hangout, thanks to the GREAT people here, and I'm honored that our DL believes I have something to contribute. Troopers Helping Troopers sums this place up nicely. Carry on, troopers. I'll be watching.
  13. Ah, now I understand. Like Shiv said, it's a judgement call depending on your physique. The ANH promo shot from Stukatrooper's photo library may help give you some idea of how far back to trim the chest and back pieces. It's the last pic in the set. http://www.flickr.com/photos/stukatrooper/...57606249339988/
  14. I believe AM was sculpted specifically to incorporate longer sides for larger-waisted troopers. The thinking was it's better to have the smaller guys trim away the extra plastic than to force the bigger guys to add shims. Ideally the ab & kidney pieces should just touch at the middle of your side, so it looks like you'll need to trim both. As I recall they should be attached with a piece of black fabric and 3 rivets on each side. The idea is to form a clamshell on one side of your body. If you take a look at some of the TM builds done by the UKG crew, you'll see what I'm talking about.
  15. At least the weapons hanging on his wall are pretty cool.
  16. TK was my first - and I'll always have a clean white TK sitting in my armor bin as my primary costume. However, nowadays it seems like clones are the way to go. Especially for the high-profile LFL-sponsored events. I have a 501st Ep 3 clone sitting in my basement that someday I'll actually finish up and start trooping with. Also have an Imperial Officer, for those times when I actually want to be able to sit down, go to the bathroom, etc.
  17. The Venn diagram is GREAT!
  18. Ditto. I love both franchises, but for different reasons.
  19. I was just wondering a day or so ago why you hadn't yet submitted. It's not like there was ever a question on whether or not you'd qualify. Like Joey said, the process of actually applying is in your case almost a mere formality. I am curious about why you chose to attach your holster at four points, i.e. Hero style, as opposed to the two-attachment stunt style. I know why I did it - I wanted the added strength of the extra attach points, especially when my E-11 is holstered. I love the rotating photo, BTW. How'd you do it?
  20. http://www.sci-fire.com/
  21. Are you 501st-approved yet? You can't be EIB-approved until you at least have a Legion TK number.
  22. Happy New Year from Fremont Street in chilly (~45 F) Las Vegas!
