New NE build Tampa Fl
The5thHorseman replied to Pencap510's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
This tutorial might help you to properly linking your pics for your thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/5-howto-post-images-on-the-forums/ About the butt plate, see Maxsteel's thread about my opinion if you're interested For the shoulder bells, perhaps you wear them reversed. There is no clear right way to wear them, but to me there's one which makes them closing better in the front. I find that they close better when the more rounded side is facing the front, like the trooper below: -
Ok, don't throw me rocks but if the butt plate flares like that, it's just because it is how the original butt plate that RS has and that NE recast is. You can also see it on few screencaps from the film: You can either heat bend it if it really hurts you but you can also leave it as it. Once all geared up, with the thighs on, and the holster it is less noticeable.

Really?! I never thought it would be that powerful! And if you loose or swap for a softer spring, would it still hit the cocking channel that hard? In the end you should be able to disassemble your blaster pretty easily as you have mostly original parts? So if ever you want to upgade it in the future it should be possible.

I won't affect approval or EIB, but it will probably for Centurion. -

Well it's sometimes difficult to describe precisely something with just few words. In this case i assum that the CRL can be misleading and should specify that the bottom rivet shouldn't be placed on the cod section, which is right under the abdominal section and only delimited by a raised line. Following the CRL is a good beginning but refering to original pics is also primordial: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26886-split-rivet-placement/ -
Damn, i wouldn't want to be the one who have to paint this totally amazing future e-11!! Pressure to possibly mess with this beauty would be too much for me Will you add an inner barrel? I feel like with all the work you've done so far, you can't go without

Unfortunately you did a common mistake with the split rivets placement. Have a look at this topic, from post #229 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24804-maxsteeles-new-ne-armor-build/page-12 -
Split rivets placement is wrong, don't set them that way. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26886-split-rivet-placement/ You should also trim the top of the junction between the ab and kydney so the line becomes straight.

EIB/Centurion Standards
The5thHorseman replied to I'm Batman's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
The thing for me is that defining the Replica level seems very difficult to me. How deep in the accuracy should we ask in order to obtain the Replica level? I mean it's not only using brackets... The stormtrooper armor is very well known and with the amazing thread about some of the original strapping used for the armors on the film compiled and posted by Locitus, can we allow a "Replica" which wouldn't use it. Because all the armors just cannot be built with this stuff, as most of all are very vintage and therefore extremely rare and difficult to find, especially if you're outside the UK. And if not used is it still a Replica? Should we make Tiers inside the Replica level...? Then only few armor makers could compete for this award, RS, CfO, and TM, (and one of these days eFX i guess). I've personnaly nothing against that but i'm sure it would be frustrating for some. -

EIB/Centurion Standards

I wonder if people making a Replica would really look for an award? Perhaps just a "Show-off" section would be enough, easier to establish and really cool -
Any EIB Deathtroopers yet?
The5thHorseman replied to stormtrooperguy's topic in FISD Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) Requirements
I don't see any reasons why the Death Troopers wouldn't be able to submit for EIB and Centurion, like any Extended Universe armors. Why the CRL would had been written if it was useless? I think there's no EIB death trooper yet because it's a rather uncommon costume. Would worth a kudos -
EIB/Centurion Standards
The5thHorseman replied to I'm Batman's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I think we have had some really good submissions lately. Between Tehcaveman, zoekoner, WideAMG, PreD, TK-5906, Dogliani, SorenM, etc... there have been some excellent armors submitted. So i don't really see what you're complaining about. And also don't confound EIB with Centurion. The level of exigence is way different between both. As Centurion isn't aiming to be a perfect Replica. -
In fact no guns in the film had electronics. Only the Stunt guns (the Bapty ones i guess) had a physical firing system making nose and smoke. And in addition i have absolutely no knowledge in electronics, so it makes two good reasons for me to not like it .

I'm no expert with Han's specific armor, but it would be nice if you had the same biceps hooks combinaison he had: Also i think Han wears a combinaison of both Alternative and Standard Handguards. To be confirmed, but the "Photo References" section is closed at the moment i'm writing this and i'm lazy finding a pic and uploading it.

The side rivets are the same than the crotch rivet; brass split rivets 8mm head. Just leave the crotch rivet unpainted unlike the side rivets. The ammo pack rivets aren't supposed to be split rivets, even though they're accepted. They're should be CAP rivets (or Speed rivets) with a 7mm head. The two snaps on the butt plate are male snap. Ubber accurate would be Newey size size 4 studs

Lower Leg Help! Skinny ankles, big feet
The5thHorseman replied to Brewski's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
That gap is perfectly fine. This is just how the shins are. And that's why it's required for the shins to close inward, so that gap is almost never noticeable when fully equipped. People usually don't put their head between your legs -
Though i think you have what it needs for EIB , Centurion will require few adjustements. The way you trimmed your ab buttons seems wrong, they should be flat and then glued to the armor: Your ammo thigh rivets will need to be removed, swapped for proper rivets (CAP or split rivets), and then relocated to the thigh bottom ridges: I would also lengthen your shoulder straps and tighten the ab/kydney straps in order to close the gap you have between your kydney and back plates. And of course i would add a strap between your biceps and forearms to prevent any elbow gaps when your arms are at side. it's also great to prevent them from twisting or pinching: You will also need a cocking lever on your blaster

Full resin E-11 from DoopyDoo's with some modifications
The5thHorseman replied to T-Jay's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Looks like the perfect timing between the blaster build and the armor!! Is the armor all built by Paul too, or is it just the helmet? And i gotta say that the inner bolt looks completely different now with the washes. That blaster is an absolute piece of art! Frohe Ostern to you too
