  1. Great pictures and sum up of the troop, Diana!! It would deserve a topic in the "Field Training Exercise" section of the forum: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/13-field-training-exercises/ And btw, Ralph Mcquarrie made the general design of the Stormtrooper helmet, but Liz Moore sculpted it
  2. Looks really gorgeous. Congrats!! But i think you will need to work a bit on those forearm return edges. There's still some extra material that shouldn't be there: And just a suggestion, you're quite tall so i think you could drop those biceps from under your shoulder bells a bit, it should ease your movements. And btw, those biceps look quite wide, might be a good thing to size them down one of these days
  3. Then, it might just be me. I was under the impression it was too narrow
  4. For less than 20$ power cylinders, result is excellent! Congrats, this is impressive.
  5. What you need is to measure the socket on the female half, with callipers for example, and then find a male half with a matching Stud eyelet to fit in the female socket. Most likely the RS snaps should be around 12-12,5mm ones which means you're looking for a 7mm stud eyelet (the 12mm isn't the inside socket measurement, it's the full diameter). The site you link have good snap but i think it only sells in mass and not to particular, but the snaps in my first post should be what you're looking for. The female half is 12mm so the stud eyelet should be 7mm.
  6. Indeed, you're right... Oh well, you look so nice i would approve you right away! It might worth dropping Steve (aka Gazmosis) a little PM about his opinion and if he would approve you or not.
  7. 50 days, really?!? Why does it take you so long?
  8. I'm impressed . I guess it's the benefit from living in the UK! And thanks for the keyword "Prym". I had already heard of "Capica" but it doesn't return any good results when searching for it, but "Prym" does. I found a lot of excellent results in a bunch of minutes with this keyword.
  9. Don't worry, i know . Your official evaluations are excellent, keep on like that Steve!!
  10. Looks fantastic! Your thighs look a bit roomy though especially at the top, but apart from that it's really top notch Why not applying for at least EIB with it?
  11. Perfect opening for this thread A Replica cannot go without snaps that have a similar look than the original Neweys used. The RS and TM armors are provided with some very nice snaps which are very close to what the Neweys looked but when I asked, people (ok, Locitus in fact) couldn’t give me a brand name or a link to what they use, so i looked for it on the Bay this WE. It’s something I really don’t like to do as I suck in scouting eBay and usually never find what I’m looking for, but this time I’ve found some snaps that look pretty decent for me. For my research I used the pics of the original Newey kindly provided by Chris (aka voice in the crowd): And here’s what I’ve found, choosing the “silver†or "Gun metal" and “12,5mm†options: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15-30-Sets-Snap-Fasteners-Press-Studs-Poppers-Sewing-Buttons-Leather-Craft-/171002550841 With the press-tool: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30-x12mm-Poppers-Snap-Fastener-Press-Stud-Repair-Kit-w-Tool-Sewing-Leather-Craft-/180943860953?pt=UK_Crafts_Sewing_Supplies_MJ&hash=item2a211834d9 I haven’t bought some so I don’t have them in hand to check the measurements, but from the pictures it looks like they’re 1mm off from the original. Well, this is not that much and they have a fairly good resemblance. So what do you guys think about them? Close enough or not? Also, let’s put things clear, those snaps are good to affix the belt to the ab plate (even though there are lots of unsnapped belts on the film), or to snap the back to the chest plate, but I doubt they would do the job for a fully snap strapped armor, so if you don’t want to use brackets and want to use these snaps to strap your armor, do it at your own risk. But as we’re in the Replica section brackets are obviously a must.
  12. Don't be afraid to go really heavy on those U-shaped elastics if you want a good dye. Soak them !
  13. That thread should be a very wise reading while waiting for the armor if you haven't already checked it: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/25919-dianas-rs-props-build-anh-stunt/
  14. Yes, it needs to be higher, from the bottom to the top. Here's a link: http://trooperbay.com/stormtrooper-helmet-brow-trim/
  15. You should fit the chest and back with your neckseal on. Apart from that the fit looks great. I know it's certainely too late but you could also glue the shoulder bridges directely to the Back plate and put snaps only at the front. I personnaly never use the snaps on my back plate, they're kind of useless in the end.
  16. Fine job, well done! I would change this brow trim though. It's very narrow compared to original ones. Those are stickers
  17. Thoses gaps are... non-existent, i really thought they were bigger . And if you absolutely want to fill those gaps, why not using the cement RS provided, or ABS past? The issue is that these solutions can be kind of messy (unless you're very meticulous or have some polish), so by trying to fix a problem you could in fact create another one. And don't be too worry using the x-acto trick to remove the e6000, if your hand is light enough you won't score the ABS, and even if, it shouldn't be noticeable.
  18. I don't know and doubt that removing the return edge from the bottom of the shoulder bell would help, but shortening the strap from the shoulder bell to the shoulder bridge is a good idea. And if it's not enough, you can try to glue your strap or snap on backward of the molded ridge: I'm not 100% sure but it should help. Forearm return edge entirely removed:
  19. Indeed, but looking small! Here's a tutorial about how to properly post a picture on the forum: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/5-howto-post-images-on-the-forums/
  20. Congratulations, and i gotta say that the THG Blasters look really wonderful! They're in rubber, so trooping proof, i think they give you the choice of the scope, they should ship internationally, and the accuracy is really high. They deserve more advertising
  21. That's... massive
  22. There's no rules going against buckles if you prefer them. As long as the strapping holds well, and they aren't noticeable from the outside, it should be fine.
  23. Sometimes, those gaps happen because of the use of inner stripes. In fact the inner strip is glued on the sides but the glue along the middle didn't hold, making difficult to lay the outer cover strip flat against the surface and creating gaps along the seams. So perhaps making one last try with the e6000 but with having removed the inner strips before?
