  1. That would have been cool, I have found some cheap similar ones from China, only $8 each so I am trying a couple of different ones, but seem post from China comes by Yak
  2. You don't have to use magnets but they are great for reaching areas that clamps don't get too. I used a combination of clamps, magnets and masking tape, the tape you can wrap right around pieces like arms and legs. I have 30 rare earth magnets 3/4 x 3/8 and I still could have done with more
  3. I would take a little more, mine is 4 1/2 inches, then 1/2 inch between that and the end caps. Just watch the side trimming of your bucket, I think from memory you need to leave more on one side, think it was the left, when you put it all together you will see what I mean. I aligned the pieces by measuring from the peak of the cheek traps to the dimple of the ear screw. The bucket does sit off set so it will look weird when you first look at it
  4. Two coats of satin clear applied, now on hold until the scope gets here before I can finish the holster.
  5. I would suggest the plastic piece is not formed properly around the armor, may need some heat, if it has any spring in it then it will pop off what ever you use
  6. I use a contact adhesive, you coat both pieces, let get tacky then put them together, not sure what the name of it would be in your neck of the woods. On may arms and in my bucket I glued Velcro on to the foam so I can remove it if I want to wash them, has worked great so far, had a really sweaty troop
  7. I think you will find it's a combination of the trim as well as the ear covering most of the gap. Ears do cover a great deal of the sides, so I would look at fitting them and see how you go. If you still have a gap you could put a strip of abs in between the top and side, that will bring that section inwards more, good luck
  8. From what I have seen of other AP builds that is pretty normal for their sniper plates, my ATA was a little off so I clamped both sides tightly then applied some heat across the back of the plate and then gave it a twist, came out better. Also just a not the ends of the plate should not tapper as you have in the photo they should be cut straight (up and down)
  9. Good luck with approval, been watching your build for a while, cross fingers
  10. Was just going to say lift those thighs up a little, oh and straighten that belt lol, should be an easy pass, good luck
  11. In Aus I got mine from a haberdashery shop, they use it as chair padding comes in a square and is yellow in colour, good hunting
  12. Also goo remover and buffing polish can help
  13. Another coat of black applied. Started on a holster, found some nice reference photos over at the French 501st Garrison. I had never noticed this holster in ANH so it was quite interesting, especially as the SE-14R wouldn't fit in an E-11 holster.
  14. Can depend on how much bend you have in your plastic section, you may need to heat it a little and form it to your armor, that would take some stress out of it. Some snaps are pretty weak, you can squash them slightly with pliers, may be worth a try before going for a complete overhaul
  15. Looks good but you should either fill in the other teeth recesses or heat and push them flat, Hero lids do not have the extra teeth recesses
  16. Looking good keep up the great work
  17. Two coats of silver, now on to some satin black
  18. Congrats and welcome to the ranks trooper
  19. Thank you Phil, I am sure over the next few troops I can get some more scuffing on the boots
  20. Managed to get a coat of silver on, will need a few days to dry pretty cold and wet here at the moment
  21. Or you could modify one of the helmets and have a Hero and a Stunt
  22. I have mine in the same place, I did find having to plug the helmet mic after I put the helmet on was too much of a pain, I now use the head mic and slip the helmet on afterwards, see how you go
  23. So excited you were, two threads you made LOL. looking good
  24. Love the cheesey grin , looking good
  25. There are a few more here
