TK ANH Stunt by CloseTheBlastDoor
gmrhodes13 replied to CloseTheBlastDoor's topic in ANH Build Threads
Nice work, I would however just touch up a little in the corners, a trick for nice straight lines is finish with a permanent marker, you have better control than a brush You may as well add your rank paint now, while the paint is handy "Last or second to last is what's seen on original helmets. If second to last, only on one ear, never both." This is a non official ranking system, it was made quite some years ago but it's a bit of fun to have a look at. -
Most have been using a fabric, some use tape "On the RO helmet the tube stripes are completely cut out and for the screen used helmets, they were backed with blue painters’ tape." Reference
-
A good tip is to wrap some painters tape (masking tape) around pieces while testing for fit. There are no guidelines of how much shin sits over the boot, many trim both sides to match as well as trim for comfort, you don't want them rubbing on your ankle when moving around. On occasion some give a hot water bath to get the pieces to sit together better, makes adding the rear cover strip a little easier.

Screen references are always the better source and of course the CRL https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/category/24-anh-tk-reference/ https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt -
HOWTO: Super clean helmet electronics/interior build
gmrhodes13 replied to kamikaze's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
Firstly I'd say make sure everything will fit in your helmet, some helmets are very small and only need a small amount of padding inside, especially on top of your head, I have a 5mm piece of foam in mine. Also note you have to turn your helmet to the side, get over your nose then turn straight, you have to remember this when adding electronics. I only use 2 fans, separate switches and most of the time using one is enough, 2 for sweaty hot troops, 4 is a little overkill in my mind. I don't have anything else in my helmet as I have neck issues so weight is an issue. I used hearing assist once and removed it, picked up too much background noise in a busy convention, but others like them Many are using the 5V usb battery packs these days, you can get quite thin ones, just depends how much you want to control and for how long. The AA battery shown could be an external mod for the Icomm unit, many of us make this mod rather than changing out the inner battery when it dies, mod is here Or it's to power something else, there's plenty of these threads on the forums for inner electronics so would pay to research more before committing to one design. Here's another setup Tony @ukswrathsupplies a few things for the helmets Like a lot of others I prefer having electronics in my chest, Icomm static burst and Aker am, you can use a wired or wireless mic with these. Also check out Tramp on FB https://www.facebook.com/trooperamp/ -
Hello and welcome Brandon, here's a tutorial on adding images to a post, you need to either use the "direct link" or the file with the extension .jpg, .png or .gif Trying to fix what you have will take some effort and I'd suggest reaching out to troopers locally who may be able to help. I have seen a few people add shims/wedges but it would also need filling with ABS paste, sanding and polishing, a few threads may be of help

Hello and welcome to the forum. Best way to get feedback on your build is to make a build thread, here is the best place to post it https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/266-cpt-enoch-build-threads/ Good luck with your build
-
Congratulations and welcome to the ranks trooper, when it comes to adding image links try to use the "direct link" option or the file with the file extension on the end of the link ie: .jpg, .png, .gif Tutorial for adding image links

Normally use the "direct link" or link with .jpg (or .png) on the end, need the file extension on the link Not sure if you have had a read of this tutorial

BlueBantha's Tall (6'2") MTK Kit Build
gmrhodes13 replied to bluebantha's topic in ANH Build Threads
I don't think you will have any issues with the black you have showing. Been a while since I've seen much on Hero helmets, RS Props, TM (Troopermaster) and SDS (Shepperton Design Studios) do kits, one thing to bare in mind is color match, there can be a big difference in color from maker to maker, even a makers own supply can change color from year to year depending on the supplier. You can find the makers contact info here -

Screen references Just remember you put the helmet on sideways until it's over your nose then twist straight. Also the bigger the opening the easier it is for younglings to look up and see your face -
BlueBantha's Tall (6'2") MTK Kit Build

Looking better, ears look great, a couple of things you have to watch when wearing and taking photos is pieces moving, you may notice your shoulder straps are sitting on top of the elastic in this shot. Your right shoulder is sitting up over your shoulder, see the gap between. TK clips not completely down on belt, you could open them up at the top a little if they are too tight. Belt could be trimmed a little more You also have quite a bit of room between the helmet and your backplate, perhaps adjust the padding or tilt the helmet more backwards Comparisons helmet gaps Now in this photo you can see the belt is almost covering your bottom ab button Also here you see it is straight on the sides, they will normally angle upwards towards the back because of the kidney plate slope. And be careful when lifting your arms so the sides don't shift Brow trim is a little short but I would think you should pass base approval Comparisons Belt boxes are just a little off, not sure if I mentioned the belt corners before, for L3 The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt. Differences between ANH S, H and ESB, a helmet and a few other items and you can do all three https://drive.google.com/file/d/10tEVteIreh6AHMogW010cuH_Bf8TBfU6/view Overall looking pretty good for base approval and a few tweaks for L2 and L3 -
Saw some post on FB @ May, I think you will find many of the soft good suppliers have their hands full with work and family, being better weather for a lot of them, I have no doubt he's still trying to get through orders and I've not heard anything negative at this stage.

Well as long as your GML is happy, if you do want to revisit them at any time remember to close any gaps you need to sand the areas which are touching, also adding the notch to the top of the ear help them to sit flusher on the faceplate -

GML (garrison membership liaison) you would find through your local garrison, you can search here https://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.php. Once you have found your closest unit click on Roster of Unit Members Costumes, command staff are listed there. -

Your GML will either deny or accept your ears for basic level, for higher levels I think you will need to trim the tops of the ears as they are quite thick As you can see from these images -
