  1. Rogue One prison transport the TK's are pretty dirty There's also an opportunity to finish the Remnant TK CRL, with swapping out a helmet and boots and a little more weathering
  2. Personally I would ask WTF for a replacement, this type of bubbling/orange peel is usually from too much heat in the vac form process, some other WFT builds have had similar issues with other parts of the armor. If you don't get a replacement it may be a good idea to add some stiffening behind, just in case, the thigs can hit your cod when bending and moving.
  3. Looks like your shoulder straps are sitting up, you can add elastic which may help them or heat and bend (hot water bath most use) Posterior is pushing outwards on the side, V tabs can help this You could also fille the gap between the thigh ridges, Sugru or ABS paste is normally used Having longer legs I added some velcro to the top front of my boots and inside the shins to raise them a little, cuts down the open black area at the knees. Obviously calves are open too With a heat gun (with practice ) or oven you bend strips of ABS plastic into the shape of a V, only glue one side and the other remains free to allow movement when you bend. Just helps stop the butt plate from pushing back from the back plate.
  4. I would drop your thighs a little. Also looks like your sniper plate is angled backwards and getting stuck under your thigh, depends how it is glued but sometimes you can add foam behind to help push it forward. You have a big gap between the chest and shoulders, also looks too high on your left side. Bicep is just poking out you may want to increase the gap at the elbows which would allow the biceps to come up a little. Belt needs to come up a little and be straight Note the shoulder/chest gaps Chest is sitting too low at the front, shoulder straps should be glued at the front, also need to go over the backplate. You have quite a gap on your sides, you could add a shim between the ab/kidney. Knee ammo strip appears to have the wrong rivet, should be a cap rivet not a pop rivet, also needs to be painted white. You have excess material on the belt you could trim. Detonator could come down a little more on the belt, also rotate so we can see the O detail. Here you can see how hight the shoulder bell is. Also a big gap at your neck, you may want to try to reduce the padding in your helmet.
  5. Looking forward to seeing the progress, good luck
  6. Yes OT troopers have the static burst were as the First Order troopers do not, lines are also different. Many of us use our own lines, I use the Icomm unit with an Aker amp for OT trooper and a standard Aker amp for FO trooper. I also use a mini mp3 to play loops of background sounds occasionally, as sometimes swap to a preset player with remove switches. For my TK I use and Icomm and an Aker amp. I use 2 relay remotes to activate start/stop and select, once the remote is stripped they are only a little larger than a CR2032 battery they fit nicely into gloves, with a loop of elastic glued to them so they stay on the fingers. 10. No CRL for this costume as yet as nobody has built one, Spec Ops does have Cal and Kreel so no doubt they would look after other members of taskforce 99. There are some armor pieces which will need some rework to obtain this look. Info on new CRL's https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLGuide Good luck

  12. Again I'm not a @Deployment Officer Team so you could wait for a response from them, but my thoughts 1. Posterior plate currently has one snap. I'm going to install the second, but am worried the first is somewhat in the middle of where the two should go. Would you place it behind the first one or closer to the opening (cod piece?). I'm leaning towards behind and assume it won't be visible. Is there a spacing recommendation? I agree and I'd put the other behind, you could always trim a little material from the front if they are deemed too far back. 2. Shoulder Bridge table - I know it's recommended to remove the tabs at the rear if possible, but I've got quite broad shoulders and they won't otherwise reach. Would that get a pass? (provided they're squared up and sitting correctly). Only recommended so that's not an issue, BUT the placement on the backplate should be central, either some tighter elastic to hold them or I would remove from the front, reposition so they sit straighter (over a box works for me) and reglue. 3 - My Han snap - It's not perfectly in the corner of the chest plate. I don't want to damage the armour by moving it. I assume there would be some indentation. How much leeway do we have on that? (This is Centurion level, but I thought I should check now, while everyone is being so helpful!) I feel like a shim would look worse than the snap being 3-4mm to the left. This one has come up a few times for centurion, recently here in this EI application, If you did remove (which shouldn't be too hard) you would need to fill with ABS paste, sand and polish so that should also take care of any imprint. Yours is quite a distance from the edge and I doubt it would pass for L3, I'll add a few references. How to make ABS paste You would also need to add some shims on the sides between the Ab and Kidney which would also need filling with ABS paste, sanding and polishing as you can only have one join on the sides: OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Any gap between the abdomen and kidney armor is no more than 1/2" (12.5mm) wide. Any shims used to achieve this effect are of a similar material and color as the abdomen and kidney armor. Shims fit flush and seams are allowed. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Abdominal and Kidney Plate align horizontally at top. A single visible seam line is present.
  13. Could also be a good opportunity to create more than one CRL, build the base and then variants. Base Shock Desert (or what ever this is ) Pilot
  14. Hello and welcome, there is no current CRL being developed for the Bad Batch TK as yet or it's versions, as with any CRL we need someone to finish a costume, supply edited images of the costume, screen references and help with the text creation. We did have someone who started some work on a base TK but has not updated in a while Some info from wiki: Rear shot I came across on my travels Like clone trooper armor, TK stormtrooper armor was comprised of white armor plates worn over a black body glove. Its most contrasting feature was the helmet. Repurposed from the cancelled design for Phase III clone trooper armor, it contained a single visor with two lenses, forgoing the Mandalorian-derived T-shaped visors of clone trooper helmets. It also contained a raised ridge that ran from directly above the visor to the back of the helmet. The standard-issue weapon of TK stormtroopers was the DC-15A blaster carbine.[1] Similar to the clone troopers immediately following the formation of the Empire, most TK armor used identical white plating, forgoing custom insignias, colors, and attachments. Some exceptions existed, such as how TK shock troopers were denoted by red markings on their armor, as well as red pauldrons.[23] Some TK stormtroopers stationed on the planet of Lau utilized brown armored ponchos and black goggles over the visors of their helmets.[26]

Dee, Asia, and Ayden ( Vince’s wife and children) have shared the following message on Vince’s Facebook page: ā€œOur family is at a complete loss for words. Vince’s sudden passing has deeply affected us all. We know that many of you are also feeling this heartache and disbelief. Please know that you are in our thoughts as well. We encourage you to lean on one another during this time. For now, we kindly ask for time and space to process and grieve privately, and request that there be no social media posts for the time being. Thank you to everyone who loved, knew, and supported Vince. Dee, Asia, and Ayden" We ask that you respect their need for privacy during this incredibly difficult time. As requested, please refrain from posting anything on social media. Condolences to his family, friends, garrison and squad "Buckets Off" Greetings troopers, We are now past the half way mark in this term and we've managed to do quite a bit, despite the unusual start. Just making the last newsletter @Sly11 was able to announce the first ever Imperial Armored Commando, @Sithtrooper02. This month they have taken it further by passing Level 2 clearance: Expert Infantry! The fact they passed with no comments is a huge testament to the amount of work they put in building an excellent suit that does us all proud. If you would like to join the ranks of the Imperial Commandos you wouldn't go wrong by checking out their build here: Hopefully most of you should have received you racing shirts and are wearing them with pride. If you have not had yours or have yet to pay your shipping costs, please make sure you check in on the sales thread as there have been updates for those affected. With Unquestioned Loyalty Chris Pearson TK-10991 "themaninthesuitcase" Detachment Leader Greetings fellow members, I'd like to thank our Detachment merch officer Jame Silvius (jsilvius) TK-12953, for the huge amount of effort he has put in so far this term. For those who have helmed or assisted in a merch run, you will know just how much work that involves. It's crazy really as you need to keep full records of all transactions, tracking of shipments, packing and sending, fixing discrepancies, sort issues, this list seems endless. That's just helming the run. It doesn't take into account the other duties of the DMBO. James drives discussions in staff on merch ideas, comes up with ideas for designs, juggles our slots and when to use them, plus schedule the full term for timing of release, closures, special events, not to forget the back and forth between multiple vendors trying to get us the best pricing etc., etc., etc. Next time you jump in on one of our awesome merch runs, please take a second to thank James for all his efforts, it's a big job with a Det of our size, and he does it all for the love and our motto Troopers helping troopers. Thank you James for all you do, brining the membership extremely trade worthy and exciting merch. Big job brother and you do it so well. Imperial AttachĆ© patch Imperial AttachĆ© Rocker Imperial AttachĆ© Outstanding Achievement Award With Unquestioned Loyalty Jonatan Ɩstling TK-23592 "Nairy" AttachĆ© Ambassador Master Armorer Program - 2024 Relaunch FISD has many wonderful programs to help members build and submit costumes for our detachment, whether it be a classic Stormtrooper, a First Order Stormtrooper, or even one of the new Imperial Armored Commandos. While our Expect Infantry and Centurion programs get most of the attention, FISD staff wants to relaunch the Armorer Program (Currently called the Master Armorer Program). What is the Armorer Program you ask? Well, it is a program designed to recognize those troopers that go above and beyond to assist themselves and others in getting costumes built, submitted, and approved. One of the goals of all the detachments in the 501st Legion is to help members build and submit costumes that meet and hopefully exceed the minimum requirements of the Legion’s CRLs. Currently the Master Armorer program has the requirement of helping a minimum of 5 members achieve Expert Infantry status. The member must have spent at least 30min physically helping another member with cutting, gluing, sizing, etc, just because they want to help (no money exchanged). The definition of an armorer is ā€œa maker, supplier, or repairer of weapons or armorā€. So while we certainly love the feedback that members provide to others on the forums, and the extra steps some do by having video calls to help walk people through issues with their builds, this program requires hands on work. The new program will have the same physical help requirement, but we are going to move from a ā€œwinsā€ system, (where a win was help an individual for 30 min or more) to a points system, and we aren’t limiting it to only Expert Infantry builds. While we are pushing the Advance to 1500 to try and achieve 1500 Expert Infantry members, we recognize that the goal of the detachment is to get FISD members build, submitted, and approved. So we will be awarding points for Basic builds as well. Currently there are 3 levels of the award, FISD Armorer, FISD Senior Armorer and FISD Master Armorer. The new program will add a 4th level at the beginning called the Apprentice Armorer. The point scale will be as follows. 5 points - Apprentice Armorer 10 points - Armorer 20 points - Senior Armorer 30 points - Master Armorer The Armorer candidate would earn points based on what level the member costume they assisted with achieved. If you help with a basic build, you get 1 point, if you help with a EIB build you get 2 points. So a person to basic you get a point, help them again to get their EIB earning another 2 to a total of 3. The thought again here is that we want to help build as many stormtroopers as possible. If you love building armorer and love helping fellow members get their costumes built, then this is the program you’ve been searching for. We look forward to awarding more members with this award as we know how much we all love Troopers helping Troopers. More information can be found here Armorer Rocker Patches Rocker patches are now available for the Armorer Program, there is currently just the one patch, and members are eligible to receive two of them once they reach Level 2, "Armorer". More information can be found here Want to setup a "Fire Team? the Fire Team program is completely optional, and is intended to help form a common identity and spirit of camaraderie among 501st Legion Stormtroopers in the same geographic area/garrison that troop together. Fire Teams are not officially recognized by the 501st Legion nor the FISD, although they will be able to access a Fire Team sub-forum on the detachment website. You can find more information here. For those interested here is the original discussion on the creation of Fire teams here With Unquestioned Loyalty Mark Ryner TK-4584 "captsafe66" Fire Team Relations So what exactly are and levels? These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! You can find more information on the programs here. For those unaware it is possible to achieve extra awards at Expert Infantry for each additional version costume you have approved, additional awards are not issued with another Expert Infantry number (you are only issued 1 Expert Infantry number) but you will see a star above the award on your profile and the thread title will show [APPROVED] 2nd, [APPROVED] 3rd, [APPROVED] 4th and so on. Multiple EIB award recipients and info here NOTE If you are approved with a "2nd Version" of a particular costume that you are already approved with you do not receive an additional award, there is only 1 award issued for each costume version ie: only 1 x Hero, 1 x Stunt, 1 x HWT, 1 x ESB, 1 x TFA and so on. If you have a second/additional version costume approved you will see "2nd Version" and [APPROVED] added to the thread title, no additional profile stars (more info on profile awards here) For those of you who have a particular issue (or issues) before or after submitting for Expert Infantry / Centurion level approval, in order to get you an answer faster you can now privately contact the entire Deployment Officer team at one time! Questions about fitting, repairs, CRL standards/requirements or anything pertaining to reaching Levels 2 and 3 are not only welcomed, but encouraged. Keep in mind that no question is too small, and that your queries will only be seen by the D.O. Staff. We are here to help in any way we can, so please feel free to send us a message by clicking on this link: @Deployment Officer Team and we will get back to you A.S.A.P.! The 1500 unquestioned loyalty! 18. Hello and welcome to the forum. There is quite a lot of info in the FOBG (first order battle group) https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/188-captain-phasma-tfa-and-tlj/ but also on the Facebook group which may be of help https://www.facebook.com/groups/1654472361474254 One supplier was Jim Tripon Jimmiroquai, he has a build thread on RPF, unfortunately the forum won't allow a direct link, here is the address and other links in his thread There are differences between the TFA and TLJ so make sure you read both CRL's (costume reference library) before deciding. I've not seen any full files for Phasma but again check out the Facebook group.
  19. Please read the instructions in the first post you need to add a link to your legion membership profile
  20. As Andrew posted it's the @Deployment Officer Team who will look after higher level approval so I will defer to them, hopefully they will be along soon. Reference of the button cover, some makers have these with a molded/vac formed ridge around the outside, sanding the back flush improves the look and they lay flatter on the belt. *EDIT* From an EI application Looking at your ABS belt, the buttons covers, (sides and center), seems to be a bit thick . you may want to remove some edge to make then flatter . 21. I use cheap snaps from Aliexpress and had no issues with them so far, definitely try a small quantity first to make sure there are no issues with them before purchasing large amounts. Also try to purchase from the same manufacturer, there can be minor size differences from one maker to another. You can also use a Philips head screwdriver to split the snap post to give a better hold, less likely to come apart. Depending on the length of the snap post you could also double over the elastic, stops them pulling through. I found the two piece hand tools give a better spread and lock compared to using pliers but whatever works for you. I also suggest double snaps on some areas which take some strain, in the event you may have a snap fail at least you have a spare so you can keep going, had this happen once with a shoulder snap.
  22. Thoughts and prayers to you and your garrison, family and friends. Buckets off.
  23. There have not been much in the way of accurate files, this one has seen at least one person approved in the legion https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/art/other/star-wars-tlj-storm-trooperhelmet-chest-shoulder-armour-ep8
  24. Coming along nicely
  25. Congratulations trooper and welcome to Expert Infantry and the EI Honor Gallery
