  1. You'll be lucky to find templates, I've seen some pepakura builds on the RPF, maybe have a look there http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=247443
  2. I heat up the plates so the snap is flush with the plate http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/20893-how-to-recess-press-studs/?hl=recess Couple of different ways here too http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/20999-howto-make-snap-plates-3-different-ways/?hl=snaps
  3. I spray mine with a heavy silver base, then 2 coats of satin black, once dry I use steel wool and scuff through the black in places the blaster would be held and get scrapped. For the sight I use a brass base and the same process. After that I apply a couple coats of satin clear and once dried I add a couple of coats of gloss black to the handle.
  4. Normally find them on ebay or Amazon, type in E-11 blaster in the search
  5. Disney stores used to stock the E-11's, I found most of mine on eBay, one of the few times I'll use ebay for costuming
  6. When I found myself waiting for armor and without funds I started a few blaster builds, most of the materials I managed to pick up either free or really cheaply, lots of plans to follow here and on MEPD. Couple of my builds have links in my signature.
  7. A Hasbro and doopy kit will give you basic approval as well as level 2 with a few mods, but for level 3 Centurion you would need either a scratch build or a full resin kit.
  8. Lots of members from Canada jump on the forums here so I'm sure someone will chime in. Have you tried registering on their forum? http://501st.ca/forum/ Also the GML may be able to help you, email contact here: [email protected]
  9. You could contact AM direct I believe he sells spares
  10. Clint's kit is Anovos same as mine. Yes no doubt there will be higher levels added to the costume at some stage but for the moment we all build to how the CRL's are currently. The CRL's are updated frequently with many costumes, what was approvable a few years ago may not be now, like FX, it happens, nobody can tell what new info or details will become available so who knows what will happen in the future All you can do is like many others, build to how the CRL reads now.
  11. I remember when this was completed in 12 hours a few years back Great work everyone who donated
  12. Why not contact a few of the armor makers to see what they provide, I know having dealt with ATA that he supplies sandtrooper pieces. Vetted armor makers are in that getting started thread for a reason
  13. Easily enough to do and several versions Mine Clint's Lots of info can be found here http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/34166-first-order-stormtrooper-resources/
  14. I've just found them on eBay, RUN ----------
  15. I'd personally stay away from anyone not listed in the vetted armor maker section. If the name is not easy to search for and find here on FISD then I think you get your answer There are quite a few makers that sell Stormtrooper armor and also sandy versions, you can purchase extras too, you can buy a Stormtrooper kit and ask for extra pieces for sandtrooper if you want to change over later. If you are looking for a Sandy kit do some research on MEPD http://forum.mepd.net
  16. Compression shirt and pants works great for me, keeps me cool in summer and warm in winter and cost $20
  17. Hello and welcome aboard
  18. Great report Danny, thanks for sharing
  19. Looking forward to the progress
  20. Have a look in the Getting Started section some great info on vetted armor makers there
  21. Fibreglass resin can be messy, I'd try to do small amounts, you can apply several layers which would help keep the heat down as the resin can get hot while curing. Wouldn't hurt to do some tests first if you haven't used it before. I would just reinforce the area behind the cracks and not do any trimming, make sure you rough the surfaces with some sandpaper so the resin can grip to it better. Some of the guys had success just using glue and strips of plastic so that may be an easier option for you.
  22. A few of our members here have experienced cracks, seems to be common. Some have repaired adding pieces of ABS behind the cracks, either gluing with and epoxy glue or E6000, some have added fibreglass resin and matting for strength.
  23. As Randy suggested tape the pieces together first and try for fit, you can overlap them, make sure you can trim to the minimum and they still fit, if not work out how much space you need to leave before trimming
  24. May be worth a look https://www.wholesalehalloweencostumes.com/products/star-wars-episode-vii-kids-storm-trooper-2-piece-helmet?gclid=Cj0KEQiAhs3DBRDmu-rVkuif0N8BEiQAWuUJryS2KUunVlt1sX4-I62u594Pcc3o8GSGSdUlio0hQ98aAnxp8P8HAQ&code=googlepla&CAWELAID=530008550000310225&s_kwcid=AL!4259!3!102355546492!!!g!196664084005!&ef_id=WDJlFwAABDzmmK-D:20170110001321:s
  25. Just be careful buying a second hand approved suit, details have changed over the years for basic approval so what may have been approvable once may need changes for current approval specs.
