  3. Troop Report: (FIFO) Families Fun Day. Location: Rockingham. (Gary Holland Centre) Date: 6th June 2018. Time: 10am – 1pm. Landscape/weather: Indoors. Troopers: 1. TS93373 – Schnitzel - Jarrod 2. TK85421 – gmrhodes13 – Glen, 3. TK59226 – Jezzapm – Jerry. Wranglers: Report: Troopers Jezza and Q arrived at the meet point at 9:15 as requested and met Trooper Schnitzel as he had also just arrived. We proceeded to the change area that had been used last year and dropped of our bags before having a quick look round and then deciding to go for coffee at the close by Dome. After coffee we headed back to change, upon arriving back we were directed to a new change area which had much more space, it was the (women’s change room). After changing it was out to the hall to mingle with the crowds of people, but alas it seemed that the crowds had stayed in bed as it was only 9 deg. After a while the crowd did start to come and have a look at the stalls and meet with the other FIFO families so we started to have some photos with the kids young and old. We also handed out quite a lot of wrist bands. As we were situated next to the door, which was open, when the time came for the Rockingham Lions to fire up the BBQ it wasn’t long before we had the smell of sausage sizzle and onions in our helmets so we made a decision that we would go and get a sausage in a roll and then take a break. After the break it was back out for more photo’s and a bit more mingling before kiting down and having one more sausage before we left. Charity: N/A injuries: Nil. Armour repairs: Nil. Happy people: Many. Unhappy people: One little girl who when we all looked at her became upset. Mission status: Complete. Report by: Jezza. (Jerry)
  4. Contact your garrison membership liaison, once you have a costume completed your GML will post it up to the legion membership team for review.
  5. I have used a portable electric heater before and had it running for a couple of hours to warm up the garage, it helped a lot in the cold weather. I would suggest some heat source or you could end up with runs and a dull finish.

Some of us were tired and achy, and others were feeling refreshed, but we were all excited for the day to come. Throughout the day, the empire and rebellion worked together manning our backdrops for anyone to take photos again. Our wranglers eagerly rattled their tins, and we're ready to help and answer any questions they were asked. Chewbacca had a good feast on some fried porg, entertaining our troopers and the public. Throughout the day we took turns wandering around the convention - making sure to keep an eye out for any pesky rebels - and resting up our sore feet in between. By the end of the day, we were feeling exhausted but happy, packed everything up, and said our farewells. It was a straightforward day, and an enjoyable end to the convention. CHARITY: $1450 Sunday, $1050 on Saturday, $2500 total. INJURIES: Many sore feet and achy body parts HAPPY PEOPLE: Everyone! UNHAPPY PEOPLE: What are these? MISSION STATUS: Complete. REPORT BY: Luke - IC36367

We moved into the main convention area to finish our area and do a few tweaks. Time to entertainment the hoards as troopers swapped between trooping, wrangling and shaking angry fists at golden rod and fuzzball for stealing the show again. Daryl did an awesome job shaking tins/golden dog as did all our tin rattlers. There was a few great statue scares from various troopers throughout the day. It was an awesome day and I personally had a blast. CHARITY: Guide Dogs INJURIES: Usual aches and pains but no injuries ARMOR REPAIRS: Glenn - Fett79 split his flight suit from back to sack HAPPY PEOPLE: Everyone UNHAPPY PEOPLE: a few timid younglings and the usual scared patrons MISSION STATUS: complete REPORT BY: PLUNK
  12. I used some contact sheet, not sure what it’s called in US but it’s thin plastic sticky backed sheeting used for covering school books. Just used a hole punch to get the circle, stuck a piece around each button, painted thin coat of white first to prevent colour bleed under any edges, then applied two thin coats of the grey and blue. I find my hands aren’t as steady as they used to be to freehand
  13. I have my elastic loops sewn to the bridge elastic, no chance of it moving
  14. For items I absolutely need to carry at some times I have a small zip bag I can attach inside my thigh armour, it’s thin and will allow phone, cards and such. Bare in mind I do have thin legs so plenty of room in the thigh area. I know others have a bag which has a neck strap and will fit behind the chest area. i do have a removable cap which has elastic on the inside of my TD but decided not to use as I’ve heard TD’s can be taken occasionally. Really it’s up to available space and how quickly you need to access what you are carrying Most of the time wranglers help carry our valuables and such so if you have one handy that’s your best bet.
