  1. Looking forward to seeing one of these kits in the not to distant future. How are you finding the thickness of plastic once pulled. Also the line in the cod is that a two piece separation to allow the plugs to be removed?
  2. I'm wondering how much weight would be lost if the main pipe section was cut out and PVC pipe inserted, like the screen used TLJ
  3. I think it was already pointed out but just in case most of us use an free online image host, upload and copy the links back to your post, unfortunately the forum only allows a certain amount of sized photos to be added to any one post, Imgur is the way to go
  4. Nice and clean, can we see what's behind the ab plate
  5. Looking good trooper, nothing stands out for basic approval. Just watch the overlap of your belt closure. Also right shin back a little too overlapped. Helmet could come down at the back as can see inside, perhaps tilt your head upwards Good luck and hope to see you approved very soon
  6. Looks like you have some large coverstrips, normally these are @15mm wide (unless you need more room) Bicep elastic is normally glued and a little lower
  7. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks, you can request higher access here
  8. Hello and welcome aboard, here is a great thread full of helpful info which may help you on your way.
  9. Quite a big project looking forward to seeing the progress. FYI using the "direct link" or link with image tag ie: .jpg, .png and so on, you images should show
  10. You will need to add all of your images separately to your post not just a link to a folder Upload to Imgur and either copy and paste the "direct link" of each of your images and post directly into your thread. If on computer just right click on each Imgur image, copy and paste into your thread. 4: Upload high-resolution photos of front, back & both sides of yourself in full armor as well as detail photos displaying compliance with all Expert Infantryman items. Pleaser do not forget to include a well lit action shot in front of a plain background. You will also need to provide an action photo as these are needed for the Expert Infantry Honor Gallery
  11. Attachments are difficult on this forum, someone with admin access would have to remove for you. Strike that, I see you are using Imgur, just copy all of the image links separately into your posts This is one of the reasons many use a free online image host such as Imgur to upload their images and copy links into posts here. A nice how to

  13. Nice work, keep it up trooper
  14. Unfortunately that thread was moved and archived as the images are no longer active.
  15. Hello and welcome aboard, beautiful photo, look forward to seeing some BBB photos from you soon

  17. A tighter elastic may help, I have my snaps on the inner side of the elastic (most add it on the outside) so there is more elastic that has to be pulled by the shoulder straps. You can also find industrial elastic which is stronger and doesn't give as much. Glue will definitely help keep those drop boxes straight, you can see how far forward the drop box is in this image.
  18. UPDATE 11th August 2022 Good to see some are getting their emails that kits are shipping and I really hope they've done a good job, I still can't get a response to my pauldron issues, no returned shipping organised, is it really this hard #feelslikeanovostome #noemailresponse I would just say to those receiving kits to have a good look at what you receive, take a look back through this thread as many issues have been mentioned between what we have seen in their images and what the CRL's require, especially those of you going for higher level approval. Let's hope we start seeing some BBB photos soon
  19. Awful, all dressed up and no-one to show, that kills Nice work trooper, good luck with approval. A couple of things for higher levels, you cold removed (cut down) the large rear cover strip tab . Just watch your shoulder strap elastic appears to be pulling out a bit Also watch your drop box positioning, should align with the end of the plastic belt, a couple of drops of E6000 can help them stay in position.
  20. Some use tape as a guide, of course you can find it can bleed under the masking tape, painting a little grey first could help or use Frog tape it is good for stopping bleed. You can also go over with a permanent marker just to tidy up
  21. Great to hear all is going well for you trooper, a good addition is strengthening strips behind the brackets. Also some remove the elastic from the original brackets and add snaps and elastic behind, this takes any trooping strain off the brackets while keeping the original appearance
  22. Great to see, just a couple of things, try to take either in shade or indoors, not half in the sun And you may need one of these
  23. Very close now

  25. Carefully. Plastic has a stage where it is very pliable BUT if you get it too hot you can loose it's shape. As I said a lot of armor doesn't need much or any heat, adding a little heat to the back of the shins you can use your hands to fold the coversrip ridge so it closes better. Using a hot water bath (of a heat gun for those experienced) does take some practice so definitely practice on off cuts first. If you read through those links you will notice some had made forming blocks of wood to help keep the shape, most don't need to do this it's mainly height issues. As Mario said don't worry too much about heat yet, you have a long way to go
