  1. Nothing better than BBB's, looking forward to seeing your build progress, remember research is the key and measure twice and cut once, good luck
  2. Image is very small so hard to make out much detail, looking good, hopefully you will be an approved trooper very soon
  3. Hello and welcome, Getting Started section will help you on your way. Also check out this thread, very informative Research is the key to this hobby so you have a bit of reading ahead of you
  4. Halloween clonetrooper
  5. Thin light lens and no mesh Starwars.com has some great info and history Many add the mesh so younglings can't see inside the helmet, helps with he illusion. A lot of people change out the lens for this reason too. FYI stunt helmet
  6. I have found in case you go too heavy you can use a heat gun and it will help the hammer effect, this also used to work on wrinkle finish and flock paint, all can be finicky to apply
  7. Nice work. You may want to try to move your tube stripes, if they are stickers you can apply some tape over the top then gently lift the corners with a knife while pulling the top tape. If they are painted that's a little harder L2 and above Ideally, the tube stripes are positioned approximately a pencil width from the side of the cheek. Note the hovi insides and rim are white Some frown references for when paint that area. Special note: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area.
  8. Hello and welcome
  9. Have a read of this thread, recent updates have been made
  10. Ultimately it's your GML (garrison membership liaison) who will approve or deny your costume so I would check with him/her. Using the "search" function and there are some older threads in regards to Jedirobe, you would have to check with current CRL requirements as there have been updates over the last few years.
  11. Yes the forum only allows a small amount of attachments this is why many of us (if not most) use free online image hosts, upload your photos there then paste the link into your posts.
  12. Image is only showing as a thumbnail
  13. Using images may be a little easier than the document attachment as they are only showing quite small for me. Use a free online image host, upload your images then copy the links back to the forum post. I don't think I've seen any 3D file for helmet that has been just right and don't think one has been approved. That being said it's your GML that would approve/deny your application so perhaps involve him/her in to the conversation.
  14. Gallery section for mobility cuts
  15. Looking good, just a couple of picky things, more for higher levels You may want to extend the bicep elastic from the shoulder bells, the hooks are pulling the bottom elastic down on an angle while the elastic under the bells is pulling the biceps upwards, this would also allow you to reduce some of the dark area at your elbow and wrist. I find it really useful having a full length mirror handy as my photographer doesn't look at everything I do. Note your thigh gaps differs, one is almost touching your cod, left shin off center to thigh cover ridge too. Should bell gap next to shoulder straps appears a little different on both sides, no issues you adjusting these between photos. V angle gap on the sides. Also drop box not quite at the end of the plastic belt section. Again adjustments between photos can help Lastly backplate not centered so your shoulder straps are not sitting right. Here you can see the bicep hook pulling down the elastic shoulder bell straps again. Note the gaps at your elbows different on back photo. You could also fill the gaps between the lower thigh ridges. Lastly your shin heights at the back don't align across the top properly, outsides higher than insides. And make sure you use a contrasting background, your GML/GWL will thank you as it makes it easier for editing your photos (also for EIB) Good luck with approval.
  16. What someone wants to pay, you don't see these very often, I'd suggest heading over to MEPD as they have the packs which use the radios
  17. Also for anyone looking keep an eye on your local FB sales groups as well as local for sale/trade/markets, I have found a few mannequins quite cheaply from stores closing down or updating their mannequins, can save quite a few $'s
  18. I normally find gaffa tape on at least one trooper, TROS was a perfect example of gaffa tape usage, again I don't know why they just don't glue the thighs shut, it's such a common issue.
  19. I still don't know why they don't just glue the thighs shut, or use gaffa tape
  20. One of my mannequin's has the toes removed, you don't notice once boots are on. Haven't had the issue with fingers or thumb as most hands are removeable, I add these last once the forearms are on.
  21. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the EI ranks and Expert Infantry Honor gallery
  22. Congratulations on the new youngling addtion
  23. Hello and welcome aboard, research is the key, good luck
  24. Try these links Flickr Imgur
  25. Yes the "new company" (cough, cough that just happens to have some Anovos employees in upper management) is off to an ok start. Some have had some shipping hiccups, some have received a less than perfect item (me) or a completely different color replacement (me again) BUT for the most part so far the FOTK kits appear to be in stock and shipped without too much of a delay. If only they would adjust their molds to make a few pieces a little more screen accurate, who knows, there "experts" may guide them that way. Glad to see your BBB photo and looking forward to seeing the build progress
