"Buckets Off" Condolences to his garrison, family and friends "Buckets Off" The 1500 unquestioned loyalty! Greetings fellow members, It is with heavy heart we mourn the loss of a fellow trooper, ex staff member, and friend to so many across Legion. The detachment offers its sincere condolences to TK14057 Marcus Dohring's family, friends and garrison members. Buckets off. CRL Workflow Update The Rebels animated series Stormtrooper CRL has undergone a minor update to now include the Chimera insignia on the pauldron. It was also brought to my attention this CRL had no synopsis, so this has also been rectified. Synopsis: Stormtroopers were the foot soldiers of the Galactic Empire, tasked with enforcing order throughout the galaxy. They wore armor similar to that of the clone troopers of the Old Republic and were considered the spiritual successors to the clone army. Stormtroopers under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn had the ability to wear the Chimera insignia, as seen in the animated series Rebels. This appeared on the pauldron showing absolute dedication to their commander. Fun News Private Collectors original screen identified Hero Stormtrooper armour has come up for auction. It's great to see this almost complete set, (images available in the Gallery section of our forums), and some lucky/wealthy collector will become the new owner in less than 30 days time. Looks like the current bidding is at $200,000, and it could well go for far more that that given the extreme rarity of Hero armour, especially a near complete set such as this. LFL have some of the Luke hero armour in their archives, but that seems to be missing the limbs, or at least matched to that set. That leaves one other know set out there in the wild of private collections. Now if i can just get that Lotto win, I'd be in with a chance lol!! Ultimately, we all hope it goes to a good home and someone gets to truly enjoy it. This is that same kit several years back now. Gino from EFX was able to make molds off the inside of this kit, every part, but sadly they never released the actual product for sale. To this day Gino is the only one with a full ABS pulled set from this beautiful masterpiece. Looks like some yellowing has occurred since the below image was taken back circa 2013. If you are lucky to get to a SW Celebration, he's has had his set on display a few times. More Fun News: A little while ago, I started a discussion with fellow staff on creating some FISDcentric screen savers or backgrounds for our members to access offering another fun way to represent your favorite detachment on lap tops and PC's There are future plans to include mobile device formats as well. TK23592 Nairy jumped at the chance and put together some truly awesome and fun designs. Today we are releasing the first of a series of these backgrounds, available to all members, so keep an eye on the Announcement section of the forums where these will be permanently housed and ready for use. More Merch To Look Forward To: As we close out on some awesome FISD merch runs, there is another in the wind. You would have seen pre interest threads recently, so be prepared for the official run in the near future. As always, if you don't want to miss out, visit the forums at least once a month to see what is going down. James has done an outstanding job of creating loads of notice for each and every merch run this term with interest threads and pre interest threads running for at least a month each time. We still manage to have members miss out even with big lead ups and runs that are open for a month plus, so please head my sage advice and come visit the forums so you don't miss a run. With Unquestioned Loyalty Andrew Franke TK-11469 "Sly11" Detachment Leader Greetings Troopers! Thank you to everyone for the kind words and support, I appreciate all of you. I very much enjoy being your MBO, and look forward to getting more exciting merch out to you this term. The FISD Pin run is complete. All the pins (that were completely paid for) have shipped. There are still a few members that haven't paid for shipping, please contact me if you haven't received your pins. The FISD small and large shield patches have been submitted to Legion/LFL for approval. Once we get the approval the run will open with the troopers that submitted to the interest form. The FISD shield stickers are still available! They will be available until the end of the legion year, so roughly February 2024. Our continued thanks to Tony and Assassin Graphics for doing this for use. You can find more info on the thread here. With Unquestioned Loyalty Caleb Mask TK-73692 "MaskedVengeance" Attache Ambassador The FISD Master Armorer program is an optional, detachment only incentive award to recognize individuals who have directly helped another 501st stormtrooper to achieve Expert Infantry status. Some people spend countless hours helping others, and want to reward their results as well as incentivizing new people to help as well. To register a “win” in the program, the assistance must have provided hands-on help trimming, building, and/or fitting of said armor for the person who was awarded Expert Infantry status. More information can be found here Want to setup a "Fire Team? the Fire Team program is completely optional, and is intended to help form a common identity and spirit of camaraderie among 501st Legion Stormtroopers in the same geographic area/garrison that troop together. Fire Teams are not officially recognized by the 501st Legion nor the FISD, although they will be able to access a Fire Team sub-forum on the detachment website. You can find more information here. For those interested here is the original discussion on the creation of Fire teams here With Unquestioned Loyalty Mark Ryner TK-4584 "captsafe66" Fire Team Relations So what exactly are and levels? These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! You can find more information on the programs here. For those unaware it is possible to achieve extra awards at Expert Infantry for each additional version costume you have approved, additional awards are not issued with another Expert Infantry number (you are only issued 1 Expert Infantry number) but you will see a star above the award on your profile and the thread title will show [APPROVED] 2nd, [APPROVED] 3rd, [APPROVED] 4th and so on. Multiple EIB award recipients and info here NOTE If you are approved with a "2nd Version" of a particular costume that you are already approved with you do not receive an additional award, there is only 1 award issued for each costume version ie: only 1 x Hero, 1 x Stunt, 1 x HWT, 1 x ESB, 1 x TFA and so on. If you have a second/additional version costume approved you will see "2nd Version" and [APPROVED] added to the thread title, no additional profile stars (more info on profile awards here) For those of you who have a particular issue (or issues) before or after submitting for Expert Infantry / Centurion level approval, in order to get you an answer faster you can now privately contact the entire Deployment Officer team at one time! Questions about fitting, repairs, CRL standards/requirements or anything pertaining to reaching Levels 2 and 3 are not only welcomed, but encouraged. Keep in mind that no question is too small, and that your queries will only be seen by the D.O. Staff. 8. Looking good, not always easy to pick things that may be out of place, I find a full length mirror helps. A couple of things, not sure what is going on with the holster straps, loops should go over the fabric belt. You could add some V tabs to stop your posterior from being pushed backwards. Tabs on the sides should help the kidney not to overlap your abdomen, or some foam behind to stop it being squashed together. With a heat gun you bend strips of ABS plastic into the shape of a V, only glue one side and the other remains free to allow movement when you bend. Just helps stop the butt plate from pushing back from the back plate. Helmet is sitting up a little high, see if you can reduce the padding. Detonator could be rotated downwards so the O detail can be seen more clearly. Shoulder straps could come down a bit on the backplate, they are sticking up a little. Also try to use a plain contrasting background, it makes it easier for your GML (me) to edit your approval photos Background guide here I think you could lower your biceps a little, this would close the gaps on your elbows, but in saying that you should be ok for basic approval as they are (I know a guy) Drop box should align with the end of the plastic belt. Also add some white paint to your ab/kidney rivets (can't see your thigh ammos strip but rivets should also be painted white in case they aren't). Looks like you may be missing some rivets from your abdomen? Looking forward to seeing your application photos soon, here's the guide on how to apply from our forum
  9. Nice work, came out a treat, however I would try to bring the angles of the sides of the pauldron down a little, they appear to be angling upwards. May need to add weathering to higher levels as the game model appears to be weathered
  10. This may help, all of the strapping is glued to the armor it does not get glued to your undersuit. Most use snaps and elastic but some use Velcro. Armor can get quite sweaty so I give it a wipe down with warm soapy water.
  11. Congratulations and welcome to the ranks trooper. You should be ok to remove more from the forearms to allow you to reach your shoulder straps. You could however apply for EIB and Centurion first then make any modifications, if you had been thinking about the higher levels.
  12. I know a few members with old pairs of glasses who remove the arms then use elastic to keep them on, gives you a touch more space to play with. Also note some helmets are bigger than others so take that into consideration when purchasing
  13. 14. There has not been a CRL made for this costume (animated version), someone has to build one first, supply all images needed and also help with the text of the CRL. There is a concept trooper which is similar https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_concept You can find a list of FISD CRL Costumes here https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL Info on creation costume CRL's here https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLGuide Lando started work on 3D printing one but has not finished as yet, his build is here

  16. Great to hear, hopefully we will see you approved in the not-too-distant future. FYI you can post pre approval photos for feedback here https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/193-request-tk-pre-approval/ Best way to take your photos (your GWL with thank you) inside with decent light on a blank background (a different color to your armor/undersuit) https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/52503-action-photo-background/ Also having a long mirror to see any issues, you can't always count on your photographer to know what should be what and where. Good luck
  17. Hi David there are a few things standing out, some strapping hanging out over the armor in some places, just under chest, over thigh and over kidney on the rear. Your shoulder elastic is being pulled a lot and can be seen outside of the shoulder straps. You could try rotating the shoulder bells to close some of that gap. I would try to even out the gaps on your arms, biceps could come down a lot more. Belt too high over ab buttons Kidney plate sticking out on the sides, adding tabs behind can help Thigh and shin cover strips are quite large, we suggest adding larger to the rear as it's not seen as much, entirely up to your GML if they are acceptable. Boots will only cover basic approval due to the stitching. You may want to see if you can bring your abdomen up a little, it will give you more room at the top of the thighs. No neck seal or detonator which no doubt you know
  18. Nice work, you could trim the pointed area from the top, may cause a nice armor bite/pinch when moving
  19. A better look at the bump and indent in the eyes From memory I think this is the only one I've seen of the undersuit, but there have been others over the years with a lot of images rarely seen.
  20. I had a feeling I would wake up to an explanation from a certain blaster expert , many thanks for the explanation. What this investigation has shown is that there was some E-11's seen onscreen with no T-tracks on either side due to the light coming through the barrel, perhaps this option may be looked at for a future CRL update. Thanks again Sergiu
  21. It really depends how it will sit once everything is strapped together on you and you have shoulder straps attached. I found my chest to abdomen straps were a little loose as the chest kept lifting over the abdomen so I doubled up elastic so it was tighter. I actually added adjustable straps too so I could get it sitting just right.

  23. Here's another "Live" version, this one with missing T-track on the right and no additional T-track on the left side, no lug either, this would probably explain light coming through. No T-Track weathering This one does have the scope lug No OFF on magazine end plate Description Original screen used hero E-11 Stormtrooper Blaster from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. (TCF, 1977) The E-11 blaster is the standard weapon of the Imperial Stormtroopers due to its compact design and formidable firepower. This screen used blaster is one of the "live" weapons used during the filming of Star Wars. Bapty & Co., the legendary British movie weapon makers/suppliers, based this weapon on a British Sterling submachine gun which was dressed for the studio. Loaded with blank ammunition during filming, it produced realistic smoke and recoil effects when fired, making the actors look as though they were actually firing laser bolts. Following the weapon's use in Star Wars, Bapty removed the studio dressing t-shaped polymer "vent fins" spanning the length of the barrel as well as the scope and scope rail. A vintage replacement scope was fitted with a replicated rail and vent fins returning the weapon to its screen appearance. Measures 19.5 in. long. Comes with the original deactivation certificate issued to Bapty when the weapon was rendered non-firing. A rare piece of original Star Wars screen used weaponry. SOLD ON JUN 29, 2016 FOR: $28,800.00
