  1. The Stanley bins are the best! Everything, including boots, bucket, supplies, etc. fits perfectly with a little room to spare! -------------- AND you can get a sweet custom nametag for it on the Legion boards! ----------------
  2. Terrell, you are absolutely the best and do our Legion proud! It's an honor to own one of your masterworks! Thank you for your contribution to our passion! I salute you!
  3. ATA = AWESOME!
  4. Thoroughly confused........
  5. Stay away from the superglues. Not forgiving and impossible to remove if needed. I have already within just a few months of building my armor have had several small instances where something needed to be moved, adjusted or changed and none of this would have been possible had I used superglue. Stay with the E6000. Super strong when cured and easy to remove cleanly when needed. On another note. I have seen plenty of folks glue the elastic directly on the plastic but after having a few straps overstretch and pretty much lose some of their elasticity, I have to say that with snap plates and snaps on the elastic, replacing the worn straps is a breeze and doesn't risk damaging the armor. Just my 2 cents.
  6. The Trooper who boards the Falcon to lend a hand is the "Hero" suit that Luke wears. That one has a grappling hook on the belt so it doesn't use the TD. Just thought I'd chime in there!
  7. Wonderful job guys! I'm honored to have my troop picked for the TOTM! As usual, this newsletter is chock full o' awesomeness!!! Congrats also go to Frank for Trooper of the Month!!!
  8. Ha! Mathias! You beat me to it!
  9. Looks like a fiberglass recast of an AP helmet or something. Since it's in the UK it's possible an RS or TM although I don't remember the bump being so prominent in those two makers. Overall, why would anyone want a fiberglass bucket? It's gotta weigh a ton and be really hot! Also it's way overpriced. Ebay=stay away!
  10. What do you guys think about doing this after the lid has been completed? I just painted mine black inside because I ended up in a rush to finish before ComicCon here in July. I want to re-do the helmet and remove the heinous hard hat liner I have in there and replace it with some great padding I found on the Legion boards. But before I put it in I was thinking of re-spraying it with plasti-dip. I LOVE the way the inside looks with the plasti-dip spray, it just looks like what I'd imagine a "real" lid might look! The padding I bought will really add to that effect Do you think it would be more difficult to achieve now? I'm just paranoid that I'll ruin the lid. Would I have to remove the black paint inside so the Plasti-Dip spray will grip or do you guys think just a light sandpaper job on it would be sufficient? Sorry to hijack the thread but it seemed relevant here.
  11. I can't remember what it was but I do know it's detailed in the instructions, if you still have them. I'm not home, but can look them up later for you if needed.
  12. I got this set up from one of Sparrow's threads, it works most of the time, but lately I've been having some problems with it intermittently cutting out. Seems to be a good set up though and it doesn't interfere with motion or look bulky or anything. When it works it's awesome! --------------
  13. Here are some pics of mine. I loosely mounted them on velcro on the mic bumps inside as well. I can adjust the positioning as I need to. Then I ran the wire along the inside of the bottom to the rear. In these particular pictures I also have a wireless velcroed in the back, but it's rarely in lately. Hope this helps ------------
  14. Forgive me Vern for I have sinned!
  15. Count me in for 1 set when the run for the rest of us begins!
  16. Someone needs to post that on his Facebook wall!
  17. Sorry Mathias, it was just easier to format because I was in a rush. Very excited about these!!

  20. Loving the upgrades! This place just gets better and better!
  21. Ahhhh, I do see that! I didn't read the other blogs about this, only the ones I was immediately attached to. It seems another very typical case of the press (bloggers included) who try to oversimplify for the sake of brevity. It would've been only a matter of a sentence or two to clarify it further and mention us on those other blogs. Also, the fact that they called Brian (the MWG GPRO and Legion PRO) the Legion Leader is another example of their ineptitude and lack of research. Well, cest la vie! Sorry to get sensitive about it, I did see it at like 1 AM and was just compelled to address it without doing the proper research into what I was writing about!(hmmm......something these bloggers should've and could've done just as easily!) I am so damn proud of my Detachment and Garrison for doing this! It was such an honor just to be there and be a part of the day! Hmmm....do I smell an FISD "Katie"patch run for this one in the near future?
  22. Great job everyone! The certificates look amazing! I want mine too! Bravo to Damian! Can't wait till they're ready! Just for the record, I feel the need to address Tom's disappointment about the Katie's armor event. As a MWG member who was at the troop and a truly proud member and attaché of the FISD. I personally don't feel that we the FISD were "left out" in any way. First of all, the FISD is prominently mentioned in the first lines of the post on the front page of the MWG site. Second, we are also clearly mentioned on Katie's mothers blog about the day. If you read the blog, during Steve Gaza's speech when he presented the armor to Katie, he talked about what the detachment is, who we are, and mentioned us by name as well as making it clear to her that it was all of us who made it happen for her. And lastly, the FISD is clearly written in huge bold golden letters right at the top of the inner lid of Katie's bin along with the names of every FISD and Legion member who donated. Here's the lid: So I believe that we were all adequately appreciated here for our contributions to her armor. Just my 2cents on the matter.
