  1. I've seen these! Those are pretty serious! You know it's awesome when it's got cupholders!
  2. OOHH OOHHH!! I can't wait to get mine! It's a "B" grade but that just stands for BADA**!! Nice!
  3. They are really awesome and worth every penny!
  4. I just wanted to congratulate Steve Gaza "Gazmosis" on receiving Trooper of the Month for the Midwest Garrison! You can't find a better TK or a more giving human being, and all around excellent example of what being in the 501st is about! If he's not leading the charge building a custom mini TK for a little girl who was bullied or raising enormous amounts for charities like breast cancer, he's helping other TK's or going above and beyond helping with the organization of troops! In fact, I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for the encouragement and support of this MWG member! Congrats Steve, you are an asset and an incredibly positive role model for all of us here on the FISD, MWG and the 501st Legion! Cheers my friend! Check out the page: http://www.midwestgarrison.com
  5. Darn you Steve! You beat me to it! Lol! I had to upload my photo!
  6. This is the bin most legion members use. I love mine and you can get a fancy personalized plaque to replace the stanley logo! Here's a link to the bin: -------------
  7. Just checking in on this one. I'm sure you guys are plenty busy, but I was wondering if there was any progress on these?
  8. I used a plastic circle template to pencil out the circles then just filled em in. You did an amazing job for freehand! I wouldn't have trusted myself!
  9. Many use the Aker amp with an iComm static burst. That's what I use and it works for me!
  10. I can't play drums in my armor (but I sooo want to!).
  11. Wow! What an awesome troop! My son Zen was diagnosed with a Wilm's tumor in June of 2010 and following his treatments, Make-A-Wish was gracious enough to send us to Disney World that following March. While we were there we stayed at the Give Kids The World Village and I just cannot say enough about how amazing that place is and how much I, and my whole family appreciated the love and support we received there! My kids, their mother and grandparents returned last year to visit and volunteer for a day and I really wish my armor had been complete and I could've gone and trooped there with them! Kudos to you guys for going there and giving back to the community like that! I loved looking at your pics and reminiscing on our time there! Everything there is so much fun and just amazing! We especially loved the Ice Cream Shop and the game room! Thank you for your generosity and love for such a wonderful place! Great job guys!!!!
  12. I thought he meant that he was using the webbing for the snap plates. Yes, Mathias is right, use only elastic for the connections between pieces but personally I preferred using webbing snap plates instead of the ABS method, much more flexible in the tight spots and I've not had any problems with them at all. Also, use white webbing for the shoulder straps.
  13. Dritz is the way I went and they worked fine, a downside is that it's difficult to use pop rivets to secure them (such as on your belt or directly on the armor) as the opening is a bit too large for the rivet. Another downside is the price at 7.99 + for 7 sets it is a bit much. You can buy the other kind by the 100 on ebay or from Tandy. In retrospect, I wish I'd done that because I spent a fortune as you'll need about 60 or so to complete your armor. As far as the nylon webbing, ask someone there to direct you. I couldn't find it either and it ends up its not near the elastic. Good luck!
  14. PayPal sent from a fellow MWG member! Go Katie! Maybe Troopermaster will make an exception and make a kit for her! Fingers crossed! Thanks go to Tom for posting this and supporting!
  15. I'm in the Northside of Chicago near Wrigley. PM me if you need some help. Signing up for the MWG boards would be a good idea.
  16. I saw this on Reddit and the animator commented. He said it was just a test that he was sending to some friends for critiques and somehow it was leaked and went viral. He said it's better than his first try but it still was a work in progress. I do not think there are any plans for a real release anytime soon, so we should just keep our fingers crossed that he makes more of this in the future. I'll try to find the original comments and post em here for you guys. It looks so awesome though!
  17. Sorry forgot to address these: 1. I have read about using just velcro and the snap method for securing the armor. Which do you think is best? Go snaps for sure! 2. When and where should I get a belt and boots from? I looked at tkboots for the boots, any thoughts? Belts: Sales threads here, Trooperbay or make your own. Boots: TKBoots all the way! 4. Last question, do need to get extra abs plastic for the coverstrips, snap attatchments, etc.? If so where should I get it from, I haven't seen it anywhere and I have been looking. You probably won't need it as I understand most armor makers supply you with enough for your build. I know firsthand that ATA supplies 2 sheets which pretty much covered everything I needed. Good Luck!
  18. You'll need 7 8mm brass split rivets and 2 8mm-10mm brass cap rivets. You can find these on eBay. These are for Centurion standards but you might as well just get it out of the way when you first do your build instead of having to replace them later if you decide to apply for centurion. There are a few threads here that have lists of things people get together while waiting for the armor. Just look around. Here's mine, I pretty much used everything listed with very little extra stuff left over. I upgraded lots of parts so you can ignore those but all of the upgrades really were worth it. It's all gathered from reading posts and getting recommendations constantly on here for over several months: http://www.whitearmo...l=&fromsearch=1 I went a little overboard and aimed for Centurion while I was building so you can probably leave a few of the frills out here and there. Don't forget your E-11 and holster!
  19. I can't for the life of me figure out how to add an image like a banner into my signature area. How exactly does one accomplish this?
