  1. I don't think the lipstick is canon but I might be wrong, I'll have to check the reference library! LOL!! Awesome troop guys!!!!
  2. I got this set up from one of Sparrow's threads, it works most of the time, but lately I've been having some problems with it intermittently cutting out. Seems to be a good set up though and it doesn't interfere with motion or look bulky or anything. When it works it's awesome! --------------
  3. Here are some pics of mine. I loosely mounted them on velcro on the mic bumps inside as well. I can adjust the positioning as I need to. Then I ran the wire along the inside of the bottom to the rear. In these particular pictures I also have a wireless velcroed in the back, but it's rarely in lately. Hope this helps ------------
  4. Someone needs to post that on his Facebook wall!
  5. Sorry Mathias, it was just easier to format because I was in a rush. Very excited about these!!
  6. Loving the upgrades! This place just gets better and better!
  7. Ahhhh, I do see that! I didn't read the other blogs about this, only the ones I was immediately attached to. It seems another very typical case of the press (bloggers included) who try to oversimplify for the sake of brevity. It would've been only a matter of a sentence or two to clarify it further and mention us on those other blogs. Also, the fact that they called Brian (the MWG GPRO and Legion PRO) the Legion Leader is another example of their ineptitude and lack of research. Well, cest la vie! Sorry to get sensitive about it, I did see it at like 1 AM and was just compelled to address it without doing the proper research into what I was writing about!(hmmm......something these bloggers should've and could've done just as easily!) I am so damn proud of my Detachment and Garrison for doing this! It was such an honor just to be there and be a part of the day! Hmmm....do I smell an FISD "Katie"patch run for this one in the near future?
  8. Great job everyone! The certificates look amazing! I want mine too! Bravo to Damian! Can't wait till they're ready! Just for the record, I feel the need to address Tom's disappointment about the Katie's armor event. As a MWG member who was at the troop and a truly proud member and attachƃĀ© of the FISD. I personally don't feel that we the FISD were "left out" in any way. First of all, the FISD is prominently mentioned in the first lines of the post on the front page of the MWG site. Second, we are also clearly mentioned on Katie's mothers blog about the day. If you read the blog, during Steve Gaza's speech when he presented the armor to Katie, he talked about what the detachment is, who we are, and mentioned us by name as well as making it clear to her that it was all of us who made it happen for her. And lastly, the FISD is clearly written in huge bold golden letters right at the top of the inner lid of Katie's bin along with the names of every FISD and Legion member who donated. Here's the lid: So I believe that we were all adequately appreciated here for our contributions to her armor. Just my 2cents on the matter.
  9. I like the Memorex wireless system, iComm static burst module and the 12w Aker amp (although the 10w is plenty). both available through TK products' Jim Sauter here on the boards. I got the memorex for like $19 on ebay, the Aker on eBay for somewhere around $40 (for the 10w or $50 for the 12w) and the iComm is around $100 from Jim directly by responding to the pinned thread in the For Sale section here. I've had mixed results with the combo but overall it works great! Here are all of the components: ---------------
  10. Check the main 501st Legion website. All abbreviations are listed near the middle of the page.
  11. I chose not to do the upgrade they're rolling out today. I couldn't figure out how to use the new interface to copy the url here so I chose the option for the old version of the site. Maybe the problem your having has something to to with the new look and possibly the site is going down sporadically. Personally, I don't think I like the new design.
  12. I use a travel neck wallet for a bit of cash, credit card, ID and my iPhone. It all fits in really flat and unobtrusive behind the ab piece. I keep the rest of my valuables locked in my Stanley bin which has key locks on the hasps and padlock holes. As far as a phone while trooping, It's such a pain to even get it out and use it, especially with the rubber gloves on. I need to remove my forearms just to get em off, so I just forget it altogether. Also, I've found that I'm having such a great time I don't want to be bothered by a phone call anyway. It can wait. Good luck with your build!
  13. Bottom line. It's resin, which is brittle. It will almost surely break if dropped, handled wrong or just generally mishandled. Don't get me wrong, with epoxy as glue, a few coats of thick textured rustoleum and a clear coat it feels pretty solid. But as an example of the fragility, Gazmosis handed his off to a kid once and the minute he had it in his hands the kid broke the selector switch. I am very careful not to let anyone else hold it and I never have it holstered (just swings around too much, even my hyperfirm does, but why would you holster it anyway?). Overall though, for general trooping and just holding it for pics it should last forever. If you want durability get a hyperfim from Lewis. Absolutely amazing looking and pretty much indestructible. When I got mine I must've dropped it a hundred times just because I liked the rubbery thud it made. Can't break those! Good luck! Doopys on the bottom, hyperfirm on top, they're actually exactly the same size, the bottom one is just closer, optical illusion! ---------
  14. ATA is another great choice, although I've heard his wait is pretty long right now too. Send SuperTrooper a PM and inquire!
  15. Such an awesome experience to be a part of! Great work team!
  16. I'll let Gaza post all of the details and the better pics but I snagged a couple of group shots of us from the MWG site to give you guys a preview. What an amazing day!: --------------
  17. Such an awesome troop!!! I can't wait to see the pics! I'm so glad I got to be a part of it!
  18. Leave your forearms attached and hanging from your biceps until you are done. It'll give you more freedom in your arms to make any last minute adjustments.
