  1. Yeah, i think I'll need one of those! Count me in!
  2. I think the majority here are focused on creating more screen accurate armor (canon) as opposed to "idealized" options. There weren't any lights on the originals, so we don't generally add them here. Also, I don't think you would be able to gain acceptance to the 501st (I'd have to check the CRL) for that costume, and you definitely would be ineligible for EIB/Centurion with add ons like that. You could always go HWT or Sandy and make your backpack light up (make sounds, etc) if you're set on adding lights.
  3. The 6th one holding the calendar is epic! I love the sign in the background that says "ARMOR"! How cool is that! Thanks for posting!
  4. Well Paul if your offering..........I'll take one off of your hands! You know.......just tryin' to help out, I am an attaché you know. "Troopers Helpin' Troopers y'all! GOD I love swag!
  5. I suppose I'll just wait it out. Thanks Mathias! Now I'm just itching for those bad a** EIB/Centurion patches and rockers! Maybe Santa will do a run before Xmas! Mmmmmm.........merch..........:-D
  6. Well how different is the new design? I've waited this long, it's no biggie to wait a bit longer I suppose. Any timeframe for them yet? If it's gonna be like forever or something, then I'll take the old one but no sweat otherwise. Thanks man!
  7. I know there are a lot of disturbances in the force lately but is there any light on the horizon for getting certificates made for those of us that have achieved EIB and Centurion? I love the way they look and I'd really like to get mine so I can frame them. I understand if there's a delay, I've seen the staff postings but wasn't sure if there was any resolution yet on who was going to do these. Thanks guys, I really appreciate it!
  8. Where on the Legion website, I can't find them. Link anyone? EDIT: Forget it......found em......
  9. If anyone need correct split rivets, let me know. I bought a bag of 100 for the 6 that I needed. Just PM me. I got chu! An attache's job is never done!
  10. Good luck trooper! You have friends here and I'm sure things will look up eventually. List here and I'm sure you'll have plenty of folks willing to purchase from you right away. As soon as things look up, we'll all be here to help you get rolling again! Remember our motto: "Troopers Helping Troopers!" Also check your local garrison (Bloodfin comes to mind), there are many troopers and 501st members in your area that might be able to take it off of your hands too!
  11. ATA is definitely worth the wait! 18 weeks though! Wow!
  12. You can get the shoulder bell decals through Trooperbay. I just picked up a set last week.
  13. I have the Darth Vader from this exact era. They were released late in the year in 1977, and I may be wrong, but I've heard that the reason that the stamping on these really early ones is hand etched, not stamped is because apparently they were first runs that were produced in a rush from Don Post to meet the holiday demands. I'd really like to find out the exact deal on these someday. Star Wars helmets.com is a little weak on the Don Post lids. My Darth was the very first Star Wars item I ever received Christmas 1977 when I was 7years old, before the addition took over and I still have it to this day. I just recently shined it up with some Novus, and it doesn't look half bad on the shelf! This is before I shined it up last week. I need to heat bend the cap because it warped from many years in an attic through high school and college.
  14. WOW!! Holy Moly! Trooper of the month! I'm speechless! That truly ROCKS!!! Thanks so much guys! You made my year! It's really an honor to be a part of the FISD (AND the MWG/501st!) and I appreciate all of the help and guidance I've received here! When I first made the decision to build a TK last October this was the second place I haunted beside the 501st webpage. I used all of the info here to put the initial "to buy" list together and contact/decide on which kit to get. I then continued to obsess over the site looking at builds and EIB/Centurion standards to plan and execute my own build. (GOD I'm glad I didn't buy that Jedi-Robe stuff!) At first, I honestly thought that centurion was the standard everyone goes with in mind when they build a kit, so I was just trying to make sure I did the best job I could so I could get basic approval from the FISD staff. I never thought it was anything special, just the standard. I thought you needed to be centurion before you could apply for 501st membership! I think if you go into it with the idea that a basic build IS a Centurion build, it isn't really hard to do. I do see how many troopers may not go that route if they have an older kit or something, but if you're getting that new ATA kit, why not? It really is super simple to just figure the rivets, gloves, blaster, etc into your build plan. In fact, you can even see in my early posts on what I was purchasing when I was building up my supplies that just getting the rubber hand guards and latex plates, painted looking decals, and buying Trooperbay's detail accessories among other things was really not a big deal. But I digress, enough of my attaché ramblings ! I'm a bit into the role! Well, thanks again, especially Eric! I LOVE the pic you chose with the guitar! It's funny to me that you even found it! I think it was only posted on my band's FB page! Ha! That pic is going to be my computer backdrop for the rest of the year! You guys are the BEST and I am honored to know you all, and I look forward to living the motto "Trooper Helping Troopers" for a long time to come!
  15. Get the EastBay. Very satisfied. And cheap!
  16. Don't forget to use what Brent did above in the picture and use a metal weight or something as an anvil and cover it with some cardboard. You'll need something to pound against and you'll need to protect the plastic from scratching or damage, so don't smash it against a concrete floor with no protection for the armor
  17. You can also use a cleaned wire coat hanger wrapped around a 5A drumstick. The diameter of the drumstick fits perfectly with the coil inside the Doopy's barrel. Check my build for the details! Use the reference photos listed above for the spacing between coils and color. Good luck!
  18. OK Mathias, I got the rivets in the mail today but I have a problem. The brads I originally put in left indentations in the plastic so when I put the smaller rivets in place you can see the mark around it. I don't know if I can live with that on my clean shiny TK. I may have to save em for when I upgrade to the TM kit I want. Any suggestions for cleaning it up? I'll change it if it can be done cleanly. Here, check it: Bag O' Rivets: Here's the mark it left: With the rivet: I don't know, what do you guys think? Now, to package my leftover rivets to promote accuracy and the FISD throughout the Legion! Everyone gets 7! Muahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!
