  1. Hi there, Can we have your height and canvas belt maker listed please? I'm guessing your about 6'2" from these pics, is that close? The following wont affect Your EIB application. Whilst you can get away with the black knee gaps the big gaps around your elbows Do draw attention. I would lengthen the straps on you're biceps and drop them down further. I would move the forearms closer to your elbows, both moves would lessen the black elbow gap. Good luck trooper.
  2. Your blaster needs a bit of work. Your canvas belt also isn't sitting right, ie, high at back then tapering down. Also, I'd like to see a picture of your canvas belt in relation to your main ammo belt corner tapers. I was just checking on the width of that canvas belt.
  3. Can you please show a tape measure against the length of your thermal detonator? It looks very long. Your canvas belt looks as wide as your ammo belt, it is supposed to close to the width of your ammo belt between the tapers. Does your belt have a plastic insert inside of it? I suppose you have to do, what you have to do in order to form fit this armour to your body size, but your shims are the biggest I've ever seen, like to the rear of your thighs and biceps. Your shoulder bells do need bringing in as already mentioned, but I guess they are going to have trouble bring brought in over your widened biceps. Your nearly there, just a few tweaks needed.
  4. I think Troopermaster prefers the Angelus paint. Try searching on a few painting posts and form your own opinion from the info available. The Tarrago kit includes acetone, and the dye and costs about £7 from eBay.
  5. I am a fan of the white Tarrago dye. This actually dyes the leather white, rather than painting on top of the shoe. I've done 3 pairs this way. The dye doesn't work on the elasticated fabric part. You need fabric paint for that. Then normal white shoe whitener after that for top ups.
  6. Your EIB build is looking good. To smarten it up even more, I'd consider the following 3 things. 1. Your black lines on the tear traps look a little wide. 2. Holster length looks a touch long 3. The rear of your left shin is not being pulled in tightly. Good luck trooper
  7. I can see that you have done plenty of research before you started. I can see that your am organised person. I'm sure that you will build a centurion grade armour. Good luck trooper.
  8. Wow. What a comprehensive build thread list. Well done. I can see that your initial thoroughness and research will mean that your build thread will be worth following. Good luck trooper.
  9. The neck seal is also a separate item compared to the under suit. The one or two piece under suits are to cover your body, arms and legs.
  10. As a few people have already mentioned... As E6000 glue dries to rubber compound, you can indeed rub off the excess with simply your finger. What I wanted to add to the post is as follows. If you have put too much glue under a join, such as a coverstrip, when it is clamped down with spring clamps or earth magnets, then sometimes excess glue squeezes out under the join. You can also gather thus with your finger, and wipe the excess off while it is wet. If you leave it to dry, then you can run a scapel or craft knife down the join, then pull off or rub off the excess dried glue. E6000 really is a fantastic construction glue to work with.
  11. Well spotted about the tube stripes. They do appear to be lacking in the curve shape. Hmmm
  12. It's a good start.
  13. Hi Ruck, You probably can't send it back now from the US to UK. If you can, then great, if not then let's move on. JR constructed armour won't be form fitted to your frame. It's a generic build. Try it on at some point, after your return negotiations are finished and see how well it fits you. With black armour and a black undersuit, you will get away with more than a poor fitting white TK. Be prepared to undo some of their construction and to re do it where required. I'm sure you will get there in the end. Good luck also.
  14. Hi Boomstick, welcome to the FISD. If you need any help, please ask. My advice to you, If your not in a rush.... Is to get the full Doopydoos resin E11 blaster kit. It's about £40 only. It's an easy build and there are many reference pics and tutorials to follow. You will learn loads of skills during the build and pickup loads of info along the was about stormtroopers. The finished blaster could be worth more than double what you paid for it once complete. Once you've built this relatively cheap blaster, you will know if you have the construction skills and confidence to tackle a full suit. The RS suit is a good choice. Good luck.
  15. To address your flared out butt plate, you could opt for the heat bending method or ... You could attach snaps and poppers to join the butt plate to your rear kidney plate. This may hold your butt plate flares in.
  16. Hi Dave, your wife did a good job of painting your helmet there. I have 3 comments to make about your AB ammo belt. 1. It's a touch low, it should be only just below your AB buttons. 2. The belt is too wide, compared to your main AB front ammo packs, the corner tapers should come in to meet your belt width. 3. The belt has too much excess length at the rear behind your TD. Your shoulder bells are nice and close to your shoulder ribs at the top, but I'm not sure why they sit so far from your biceps in these pictures. I was wondering if either your biceps are a bit wide, or if the shoulder bell elastics are a bit loose. For an ANH look, they don't slip inside each other as expected. Besides the overall belt width in AB belt no2, the other comments should not affect your EIB application. Good luck trooper.
  17. I forgot to mention that your white elastic straps for your shoulder bridges are in the wrong place. They need to tie down the ribbed straps to your backplate. Easy fix.
  18. Your drop box placement looks fine. I've referred here a TK1650 Billhag diagram. Your armour is a nice fit on you, I see that you've opted for the movie accurate type look here. Your helmet tube stripes are a tiny bit, further out than the general folk follow at the aerator end, but they still look good. My only bug bear here is the holster length and the width of the tan straps. I'm very surprised that this is a RS holster. I'll leave the final say so to the DO. Good luck
  19. I remember being like you at the start. I was quiet and listened and learnt from the troopers around you. The UKG ethos is as follows, We don't just dress up as a stormtrooper, We become a stormtrooper. We have to get into character and act as if we have just come from the Death Star. Here are some examples that you may be after. Q. Wow, that's a fantastic suit, where did you get it from? A. It's standard imperial issue from the Death Star. Q. Is that a real gun? A. Yes sir, this is a real blaster. Q. Can I hold your gun? A, no sir, we are not permitted to hand over live weapons to the public. Q. Where's Darth Vader? A. He's on the Death Star. We are an advance scout party that have been sent on ahead. Q. What's your name? A. TK3796 sir Q. Is it hot in there? A. No sir, this is a fully air conditioned suit. With a bit of experience behind you, you will turn this around from reactive questions and answers to you starting the questions. Checking ID Carrying out stop and search Arresting people Etc. Have fun, stay in character
  20. You should be ok with split rivets for your knee pack, especially for an EIB application.
  21. Hi Chinti, I think that it's going to be fair to say that your project of becoming a stormtrooper will disappoint you if you rush this and don't do your research. The choice between AP and NE shouldn't be based on whether one armour type is trimmed or not. The two armour types are designed for totally different sized and shape people. Depending on your height and body size is a better decision between the brands. Then choose how accurate or good you wish to look. What's the cosplay for? Do you want to be a stormtrooper? Or a goofy person in a ill fitting stormtrooper suit. The decision is ultimately yours. I recommend that you browse through the EIB and Centurion application threads. You will see all the armour brands in the application titles. Pictures of each brand with body stats and size in the first post with pictures. You can see all the components used there too with brand types.
  22. Great idea. Show us some pics
