  1. This application is under review and currently in consultation. It's not going to be bad news but the decision with affect future applicants and set a president. I "should " be ok for a hero to be cleared with none hero hand guards if Han and Luke wore both types in the film, the film is reference and these guys were prominent lead characters, unlike Mr No Stripes. I therefore don't think That we should insist on hero hand plates and the CRL doesn't insist upon it. . This then leads onto a decision to be Made about grappling hooks and comm units on a hero belt. I like them, but they are not compulsory. They fall into the catagory of optional extras. The CRL states that the trooper should not have both a TD and hook and com link at the same time. A decision will come shortly.
  2. £6000 sterling Or $9500 used http://www.propstore.com/product/star-wars-ep-iv-a-new-hope/full-size-don-post-stormtrooper-replica-statue/ What do you think?
  3. I'm really sorry but I can't EIB clear this without some work. Please get your front main ammo belt correctly mounted. It's far too low at present. The top of your ammo belt should be just below your AB buttons. Get a tighter top half of your undersuit please. Besides the armpits, it is very baggy round the elbows. I can clear your blaster but not that holster yet I'm afraid. As a bare minimum you need to thin down that holster retaining strap. Please get your hand plates to sit on your hand or wait for the latex upgrades. This then leads me onto getting the armour to fit you. I guess the previous trooper that you got the armour from was a bit bigger than you. Your shins are way to big on your legs, can you pull them in a bit at the rear and trim off the excess plastic? If you can do this to improve your look then I can consider letting the bottoms of your thighs stay that wide in proportion to your knee width. Once again, sorry for the damming news, especially after a number of congratulatory messages. It's not easy giving out bad news as the DO. I am aware that some people either get on with improvements and pass their EIB and some people get upset and throw their applications away. I hope that you keep with the program and make the recommended improvements to your armour.
  4. Hi Travis, I really like your look. It's a clean build, it fits you nicely. I have a couple of nit picks that are not show stoppers. These are your shoulder bell gaps. On your EIB and centurion application, Your first front pic shows a large right gap. The left side is perfect. The newly submitted picture, shows the right gap the same but the left gap a bit bigger hence they look more balanced. The black stripes on your helmet are a touch thick. You may be able to address this by running a fine brush stroke of grey alongside them to tidy them up. And finally, again not a show stopper, but you have not hollowed out the front sight on your Doopydoos blaster. Are you planning to kit up again for more pics wearing your grappling hook and com link?
  5. Body filler is unlikely to adhere to a plastic helmet. Do you ask the question in reference to a Fibreglass lid? Either way, it would be best if you submit pictures of your helmet so we can see what you are referring to.
  6. I can't read every thread and every post on FISD so if you guys have a question you can always PM me. I only noticed your thread as the long term Stormtrooper expert Firebladejedi has commented on the thread. I won't fail your applications if you cut your cod. However... don't cut your cod. Every armour I have seen where someone tampers with the cod ends up looking awful. I look for form fitting armour in your EIB and centurion builds. The armour has to fit you and have appropriate sized cover strips. Or your armour will be failed via the improper armour construction route. Good luck with your builds.
  7. No faults found. Congratulations Expert Infantryman I will fill in your paperwork and assign your EIB rank and badge later
  8. Thank you for making the changes and supplying the extra pictures. I love applicants with a positive attitude to improve their armour. Congratulations Centurion. I will fill in your paperwork to assign your rank and badge later. Well done trooper Hope to see you in Essen
  9. The correct TD hardware is actually black head self tapping screws. But pop rivets are acceptable.
  10. This indeed is a nice build. I'm glad the crotch rivet has been pointed out and replaced. If you can trim off the excess plastic on either side of your shoulder straps then I am prepared to overlook the positioning of your "Han" snap positioning on the top right hand side of your Armour. Can I also see a ruler next to your torso and crotch rivets. I am not insisting that they are split rivets but I would like to continue the good work of the previous DO and am looking for the correct size and shape. Without a scale verification, they look quite large. Please prove me wrong. Can I also see some clearer pics of your blaster please? Thank you.
  11. The button colours look good and correct now. Can I take a moment to thank you for your positive outlook about the comments given about your Armour and praise to you for wanting to address them. You Are a super example to any aspiring EIB or centurion troopers. This is what the program is all about.

  14. I've looked over this application again today. I am aware that you are out attending to the AB button colours and the Hasbro blaster holes. I have mentioned the cover strip widths that you have used before and I am afraid to say that I cannot EIB clear this with your cover strips as they are. The forearm and bicep cover strips need to be narrower than those used on the shins and thighs. The width of cover strips used, should be in proportion to your body size. The width of cover strips either used on the forearms and biceps or shins and calves should remain the same width throughout, with only a few mm difference. In general your armour looks good, but I cannot clear these cover strips as they are as they fall into the improper armour construction category. I would encourage you to please attend to the cover strip widths.
  15. Centurion approved. Congratulations for sticking with the program and for making the modifications that you have done.
  16. Ok. I'm inclined to approve your centurion application request now. Congrats trooper.
  17. Your left rear shin overlap ... Which way is it going? It looks wrong in the above submission pic, but you can take a pic of it on its own to show how it opens.
  18. I would diagonally cut off those bits that you are referring too. Cut the armour so it is comfortable for you and so that the shape flows. You have assembled the armour as lined up at the bottom where it can be seen. The parts by your armpits will not be seen.
  19. Update progress spotted. Waiting shim seam to be finished and submitted. Looking good trooper
  20. I have started constructing a new set of NE armour for a fellow UKG friend. I missed attending an armour party last Sunday where he was measured up. The armour was rough trimmed by Steve Weir (SW1) UKG and FISD armourer and Gary Hailes (89batman) UKG CO. My apologies if anyone else contributed as I wasn't there for this part. The rough trimmed armour, taped together with Gaffa tape was delivered to my place of work. I started by making and cutting 10 * 25mm cover strips for the thighs and shins. That's three for the thighs and two for the shins. The front of the thighs have an additional inner strip with which to mount the snap fasteners. 8 * 15mm cover strips were made for the biceps and forearms. I usually start with the thighs. Here are the fronts. I've left the tops log for the owner to trim them either flat or to their own mark. Rear of thighs Thigh fastener inner strip In place Shins Front shin Rear shin with cover strip Left shin knee plate going on, glued and clamped Forearms No return edge at the hand ends Biceps All closed armour parts now constructed.
  21. I refer you to the ANH TK colour reference chart. You will need a little bit of French Blue, over the dark midnight blue.
  22. Those bracket things... Are to glue into your helmet bowl, To support the supplied helmet liner.
  23. I'm a little concerned about the mismatched cover strip widths used here though. Can you explain why you appear to have some 15-20mm on forearms and biceps in some places then a few 25mm And some extremely wides on the rear of your shins? I'd like to understand your logic here please.
