TK-10666 Requesting ANH stunt Centurion Status [89] [NE]
FunkyTrigger replied to Redforce's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hi Anthony, I've watched your centurion application come in, and I've watched you make some recommended tweaks and changes. It's nice to see an NE armour appear on the centurion application thread. Again this is a first. Both the EIB and Centurion awards have a visual appeal aspect that needs to be considered in order to be given the grade. This visual appeal is something that can never be accurately described in the CRL. It is possible for an application to hit all the CRL check boxes but still fail on its visual appeal. I am quite a stickler for armour to be form fitted for the wearer. I have reviewed your armour a number of times and am happy to grant you the centurion award. There are two improvements that you could make (not easily) to make this armour appear better. These are to taper in the bottoms of your thighs. And to taper in the bottom of your biceps. In your case, these will not affect your award. Whilst your NE shoulder bells are a touch large, they do have a nicer shape than the AM predecessor and do not spoil your look. I wish to warn any NE armour applicants that follow on to ensure that they form fit their armour to suit their body frames and that you will be judged on how the armour fits you. Congratulations Centurion. -
You need to fill in a proper EIB application as per everyone else and I'm sure you are guaranteed the award. If I had time today then I was thinking of copying and pasting your centurion app and changing the words for you but I never had time. The EIB applications stay here for eternity and for everyone's viewing pleasure, therefore the application should be done correctly and formally with the correct text and pictures showing.

I won't be denying centurion over the knee plate alignment. -

Hi Tom, I have consulted with a group of centurions and the results are as follows. We are clearing your blaster. We need to see a close up of your Hovi mics tips, and we don't want to see the speakers in them. You can either remove them for the application, or use better mesh, or put standard hovis in. We need to see a close up of your thigh ammo pack. Make sure you are using close to 8mm split rivets or cap rivets that look correct from the outside. Your nearly there, please make the recommended changes and the centurion award is soon to follow. -

Hi Jason, As you are so tall and wearing one of the smallest armour brands the black gaps tend to be over emphasised at your knees and elbows. Whilst I can live with the knee gaps, (and there is not a lot you can do about them) I would like to see you attempt to reduce your elbow gaps please. Can you extend the shoulder bell to bicep strap a bit to drop the bicep some more. And add a bicep to forearm strap to bring the forearm closer to your elbow and off your wrists. Try centering the forearm armour between your wrist and elbow. You at 6'2", are one of the few people where the Darman holster doesn't look to long. However, you could trim a touch off the bottom. All else is looking good for EIB. Can we just see the forearm adjustment? Your forearms shouldn't look so large when they are closer to the bicep. -
I need new guys for the critique triage now as I cannot say what I want to say freely as the DO. Please study and learn as we are on the lookout for new armourers

Hi Antonio, this is the first NE EIB application that I remember seeing. I must say that it looks pretty good. I am impressed with your EIB build here, I have no fault comments to give. I like your functional AB closure rivets that you have made there. You are EIB approved Well done. Can you post up which Action shot of your 3 you would like used as your EIB roll of honour picture. -

Hi Tom I am currently reviewing your application for Centurion status. It is a good standard and form fitting build that we like to see. Can I ask you to look into a few areas please. You front crotch piece has the wrong fitting in it. Can you change this out for a stud. You are missing a second snap in the lower butt plate area Can I see a picture of your bicep straps? Can you look into why your knee plate is not aligned correctly with the shin tops please. If you have used E6000, you may be able to align it a bit higher, especially as one side appears lower than the other side. I will take advice on your microphones that you have inserted into your Hovi Mics and get back to you. I will also consult regarding your nice but non standard blaster mods. In the mean time, you have a couple of easy adjustments to make. -
Thank you guys and thank you Mathias.

modifications on ANH armor, need advice

If you are short and need to shorten your thighs in order to walk, then I guess this is what you have to do. It is possible to add a return edge again with a modeling iron. Please do not over cut your thighs and make them silly short. Maintain the small black gaps. The Stormtrooper suit does not give everyone maximum mobility. -
Hi Tom. I think you are nearly there as you appear to tick all the EIB boxes. I have a couple of questions / suggestions that may help with your overall look. Do you have a blaster d ring pic? Your holster appears quite long, I can see that you have shortened the hanging straps. Can you show a picture of the blaster holstered? If there is a lot of excess material below the muzzle, you could shorten the bottom length of the holster. Who is the maker of the holster? Do you have any strapping in your forearms? I ask this as your right forearm appears to be sitting on your wrist and is leaving a larger gap at the elbow area than the other side. Are you ok walking around in this armour? I know that you are a short trooper, but the leg gaps look very tight at the front. I was wondering if your thighs were able to be pulled up another inch?

You can use a liner or foam inside your helmet. Whatever you prefer. -

When you split the cod from the front AB panel, you need to ensure that this cannot be seen. This is usually covered by the belt. -

The extra stitching seam on the boots is also unacceptable. Your GML may have cleared you at basic level with those boots but I don't think it's going to be possible at EIB. Sorry. -

You also appear to have 6 AB panel to kidney plate rivets on both sides of your armour. They should only be present on your left hand side. May I also ask, what material you have used as your shim, between your AB and kidney? -

Hi Dimo, In my honest opinion, your armour needs some tidying up. It is not of a tidy construction and a few items need correcting. To start you off, have a look at these areas, Your right rear shin is closing the wrong way. Closed seams should face the inside of your legs and not be seen from the outside. Your boots have additional seams on them that detract away from the originals. The TD clips are too narrow. The 6 AB to kidney rivets are much larger in diameter than they should be. The shoulder straps have been glued down with excess glue showing. I am sure that some additional comments will come in about the helmet and tube stripes. -
Great thread
