  1. Dare you to leave it till the 25th. Think you can do it ?
  2. Cracks me up but you can just tell the ROTJ variant came from the 80s
  3. Did you notice also on the Cylinders on the Y-wing shot the screw threads protrude by quite some way. Its a bit of a shame this detail isn't seen else where, perhaps it would aid in working from where they came? Just wondering if these were sandwiched in another chassis, could they have been stacked, another reason why they may have had many?
  4. Some people have really good eyes, to have spotted this in the first place. On the other picture Andy, I think there is a second Hengstler on the other side of the pilot in summitry too.
  5. Interestingly it looks like the gray metal (Hengstler)? Looking forward to seeing what you've done with the cylinders, looking very nice so far. The caps are interesting what did you end up using there?
  6. Made a little progress today, and things are beginning to take shape quite nicely now:
  7. No I spoke to Joerg his dad actually made them up, but I requested he left the cylinders off. I had wanted a cut out piece at the back but he was unable to do that so I went with the three drill hole configuration. They probably need slight adjustment of about 1/2mm which I'll try and do over the weekend just to help the ends pass through nicely. I think that I'll also trim the wires at the back too, right down to the ends. Another thing I need to address is how they'll attach. I had assumed the material would be magnetic so I was surprised to find that it was not. I'll glue the magnets to the base. One question I have is where would the coils attach I thought I'd read somewhere that it wasn't necessarily into the cylinders themselves?
  8. Well its been a while but my build is now under steam once again. A huge thank you to Mathias (Locitus) for putting me in touch with Joerg at Blastech Armory. Joerg made me the basic cylinders, and as you can see I've just got to do the final adjustments to get this finished. I think you'll agree they wicked, and I simply cannot wait to get these attached to my Sterling. A little adjustment needed here... My other arrival today...
  9. Looking forward to seeing your build progress up here soon Mike.
  10. Also in Germany you've now got Blastech knocking out wicked replicas to with moving stock etc. Another feature the MR simply doesn't have.
  11. Dressed I think they'd look really spot on. What Jesse has done really does make a difference. Were kind of blessed in the UK as you can own a deactivation for the price of one of these on the Bay. Andy is offering a deactivation in the sales area now for I think ƂĀ£290 and on eBay UK current there is an MR at auction for ƂĀ£330. It just doesn't make sense why people will pay that kind of price for one.
  12. There a deactivated sterling on eBay.com fully dressed I saw t'other day.
  13. Wish I read the responses earlier... two trips to Aldi in ond day!!
  14. E-11 all the way. The sterling is an awesome looking bit of kit, and is fantastically engineered, but I'd definitely go the whole distance. I totally love mine
  15. Mathias I got some of these in readiness for my power cells. They're pretty strong a couple of these should hold it well if your looking for a way to do that.
  16. Totally love Lego and think this is just great, out next year.
  17. Mathias thanks for the link am pressing ahead with an order for a set of the cylinders, been waiting on Russ for far too long.
  18. Click the banner below, will take you to RS props shop
  19. If you stick that number in google all you get is the shoe size of a host of different brands all a 10. I don't see this significance?
