  1. Talking of eBay finds not sure who is parting with this but looks like a good one to be had: ------------
  2. I used a grey primer followed by a mat spray. Just get a screw driver and pop the lens out from the inside (pushing inside to out) if you put the driver at the very edge of the lens it will come out no problem and will fit back in too easily on a push fit. That will give you a lovely finish.
  3. Fantastic build have enjoyed reading all about it, and the stand is perfect forget the MR type plaques etc let the blaster do the talking.
  4. My God your a mentalist! This stuff is insane... Please Sir can I have some more!
  5. I'm drooling, the MR Fett Balster and my own sterling e-11 are the only props I've on display in my house. Can't wait to see what else you've done.
  6. I see in the background of one of the pics a mouse droid please say you got some shots of the cylinders Where there any other props like the Macrobinoculars used by Luke in Star Wars, if so would you have got some shots of those
  7. SNAP! I've virtually the same collection, though my Hasbro is an old 1970's model with folding stock and squeely noise
  8. Quintessentially the best film ever made... Awesome
  9. Hi Sergiu, Not sure quite how it will work with the plastic bracket but if you look at my build you may get some inspiration? Regards
  10. Really is looking nice, love the paint finish, it looks like it suits the sterling well
  11. Brilliant... Your a little thin to be a stormtrooper!
  12. Really liking what I've read here, this will look lovely when your finished. A couple of things I'd recommend though for anyone who follows your build, issue that you should drill all your holes on the cylinder chasis before you make any bends. That way you can be sure your alignment is correct. Simply placing the plate on a wooden block is good to help with this, and means you can clamp it down too. If you place your rail etc in a vice to form a bend as long as this is done as close as possible, and you use a heavy implement applying even pressure also means that you don't need to score the metal before bending. In doing this though make sure you protect the surface of the metal you put into the vice.
  13. Will be watching with great interest, good luck with the rest of the build you cannot beat the feeling of achievement when your done.
  14. I know they're not acceptable but I have to say I quite like the sanitised look of the CE
  15. Could this be a first: My E-11 taken from my new Sony camera with 3D (I've got no way of knowing if it works as I believe it will only appear truly in 3D through a 3D TV - I guess I better get saving) Enjoy!
  16. How did you detach it (the sight)? Your thought are in line with my thinking on the rail which is why I have a thinner one (two actually).
  17. I love how you did the rail it does look much like the screen shots. Are they actually attached at any point, or is it some how sprung and self holding? Can you post a couple of shots from above? I think I'm going to be watching your build with quite a high degree of interest already
  18. I think that is a very good observation, had not seen this before. I think too (and I'm sure this will please Vern - we debated this over a fair bit I recall) I think these shots do show that the scope rail is in fact slightly wider than I had suggested.
  19. No problem at all, I'm only happy to pass on what I can as many of the guys here, Vern, Jesse, Mathias, Dennis to name a few, did for me its these guys who really know their stuff on here IMO. The first rail the wider one and one of the smaller ones I have drilled at the end. I plan to tap the sight so I can fix the rail securely possibly with an Alan bolt: The second of the smaller rails I've not had to, I don't hang it upside down though either (it will move, due to the weight). I wish in part I'd not drilled the larger rail, it fits incredibly snug, and with the bend holding it in place at the front, it can actually hold upside down. The thinner rails bend causes it to spring so has to be secured. Here are a couple of shots with one of the M38 (no7) scopes this one is the 1942 model. I think its better suited to the Hengstler. I'm going to make myself another bracket when I can spare the time between new projects.
  20. No the track holds it self in. Its longer than the length of the holes so when its bent at the ends (the ends do need a slight taper on them to do this) and placed into the vents. It holds itself in place like a spring. A tip I got from a kind member here on the forum some while ago.
  21. And now in Black... I'm getting a new Camera this week so I'll try and get some pictures posted of this thing in 3D
  22. Well its been a while but after a really long period of time, and better later than never, I've finally started to paint the scope rails and counter parts tomorrow if the weather holds they'll get their first coat of black
