  1. Wow. Really cool! Would love to see more pics!
  2. With"FX" and "Halloween" both in the title, there's no need to keep reading it's description.
  3. I tried to find the black ankle boots too, for another project. Like Brian said, they are really expensive, and hard to find in the right size. I imagine it would really be a pain to keep dying them. I already have to repaint my hand guards after almost every troop. lol... I love my TK boots! You can't go wrong with those.
  4. You mean Reserve Pilot. And don't buy a regular military flight suit. Those were approved in the past, but accurate Imperial ones are required now. MonCal is on about every forum if you search for him. Just shoot him a PM. Oh, and he's definitely not the same guy as Mr. Bojangles. If anybody wants to do a "cheap" costume, there are ways to keep costs down, but like any costume, cheap usually goes hand in hand with poor quallity. New costumers, as well as seasoned ones, should always ask lots of questions before spending money or wasting their time on something that won't get approved, or will have to be heavily altered. With crewman costumes, a lot of the price depends on boots. Accurate jackboots are almost as hard to find these days as officer's riding boots. If anyone is interested in doing a Crewman (what the Reserve Pilot was copied from), or the Mechanical Crewman, check out www.imperialofficer.com for all the details.
  5. I believe when they were filming that scene, Luke is supposed to draw his blaster. As we all know, doing such (especially with one hand) can be awkward, so they gave him a little extra anchoring to help him out there.
  6. Saw this on Face Book this morning. Phil is a squad mate & it seems no one has heard from him. If anybody knows where he might be, or has heard from him, please let the police know. Our prayers are with him and his family.
  7. Nah, nothing got trimmed off of it. I wish I could just trim myself. lol...
  8. I was thinking of going for Centurion, when one obvious problem presented itself.....no matter how much I suck in my gut, my side gaps will not meet. I'm a half inch shy on each side. I have ATA & I really don't want to use shims for such a small gap. Would it be wise to replace just the kidney plate with a larger one? RT possibly? Anyone else done that? All advice is welcome
  9. Looks pretty good, man. I think your belt is a bit long. The end of it shouldn't go past the TD.
  10. We've got a few more Squad 7 troopers lined up! Look for their threads to pop up soon.
  11. Biceps are fine, gloves are fine. The rubber ones are for centurion A bit of the brown part of your suspenders is showing. The 3rd ear screw at the base of the helmet doesn't look right. It looks like a philips head, not a flat head. Armor & weapon look great. All other detals look fine to me. I believe you need a bucket-off pic.
  12. Good luck with your mods. I'm sure, with enough effort, it will pay off in the end.
  13. I just use dish soap and warm water, but I'm sure there are much better ways, as mentioned, to stay shiny.
  14. Just take your time & don't rush the trimming. Like they said, you can always cut more, but adding sucks.
  15. Snaps.
  16. Good luck in your "hunt for the right armor". Your height and weight will probably give you many options. You are probably one of the lucky one who won't need to shim your sides.
  17. Like Ingrid said, AP or ATA are some of the smaller kits that require less trimming. You might want to check out those. With a little persistance & a lot of trimming, you can get ready to troop before you know it! I'm 5'6'' and I didn't have to trim much off my ATA at all.
  18. I just picked one up at DragonCon too. I must say, its very nice. Perfect for those who troop as Jedi. Very sturdy, loud, and bright!
  19. I didn't know much about forum screen names when I joined the Legion, so I just lazily used my Yahoo name & decided to keep it that across all the boards so people could recognize me. BJ-What friends call me. Savage-My last name. 7-like the character, Fred VII, from the old GI Joe comics. Which ended up being cool that I ended up in Squad 7 of the FLG.
  20. Very cool! See ya soon, Ingrid!
  21. Happy Birthday, Dude!
  22. I made one into a "troopable" helmet & it wasn't too hard to do, but if I could do it over again, I would have just used a kit from ATA, or AP. Its a nice helmet, but after a while, you tend to notice the little differences that make it stand out from a more screen-accurate helmet. It's definitely not bad though.
  23. I've cleaned mine with a damp rag & air dried. Nothing major. As hot as it gets in Florida, I've only really did this a few times.
  24. White all the way. To each their own, for different reasons, & thats cool with me, but they were left white in the movies.
