  1. Just take your time & don't rush the trimming. Like they said, you can always cut more, but adding sucks.
  2. Good luck in your "hunt for the right armor". Your height and weight will probably give you many options. You are probably one of the lucky one who won't need to shim your sides.
  3. Like Ingrid said, AP or ATA are some of the smaller kits that require less trimming. You might want to check out those. With a little persistance & a lot of trimming, you can get ready to troop before you know it! I'm 5'6'' and I didn't have to trim much off my ATA at all.
  4. I just picked one up at DragonCon too. I must say, its very nice. Perfect for those who troop as Jedi. Very sturdy, loud, and bright!
  5. I didn't know much about forum screen names when I joined the Legion, so I just lazily used my Yahoo name & decided to keep it that across all the boards so people could recognize me. BJ-What friends call me. Savage-My last name. 7-like the character, Fred VII, from the old GI Joe comics. Which ended up being cool that I ended up in Squad 7 of the FLG.
  6. I made one into a "troopable" helmet & it wasn't too hard to do, but if I could do it over again, I would have just used a kit from ATA, or AP. Its a nice helmet, but after a while, you tend to notice the little differences that make it stand out from a more screen-accurate helmet. It's definitely not bad though.
  7. I've cleaned mine with a damp rag & air dried. Nothing major. As hot as it gets in Florida, I've only really did this a few times.
  8. White all the way. To each their own, for different reasons, & thats cool with me, but they were left white in the movies.
  9. Man, I wish I had your problem. I'va always had stuff be too long for me. LOL...
  10. The look on his face is like "man! Thats an ugly helmet!" LOL!
  11. I am super happy that I'm able to go! You guys have no idea! LOL
  12. Just beautiful! Gives me chills to look at them! Interesting to spot velcro on the bicep too.
  13. It seems with all the best prop makers, unless, you see a thread saying "armor boxed & ready to go", expect to wait for a pretty good while. I know thats not very reassuring, but I'd rather wait for a long time & get some good armor, than get some not-so-good armor really fast.
  14. I'd definitely keep that as a historical piece. Its cool for that reason alone. Probably not worth trying to make approvable. Do you think it would stand up to trooping? I'd think it would be kinda fragile, being so old.
  15. I think the Sith armor yor are talking about might end up being approved by the Rebel Legion. I dunno. I'm sure it will end up being one or the other, if not both eventually.
  16. He also makes screen accurate Biker Scout gloves, if anybody is looking for them. Really good guy.
  17. Build armor, drink beer, repeat. LOL. Actually, what Brian said is more productive.
  18. I have mine set up like Hunterhwt said, leaving a small gap between the lens marerial and the eye opening. This usually lets moet of the hot air escape, so I stay fog-free.
