  1. ohhhhh the bloated pain....Ham...Dressing....peach cobbler.....if only there was room for some pecan pie...*BBBBUUUUURRRRrrrrrrrrrrrppppp* *runs back to the kitchen for pie*
  2. I <3 Stunt helmets!
  3. Well you did a great job!
  4. Awesome build!!! Go get your gold challenge coin! I always wondered what happened to that stock!
  5. Thats great news Mike!
  6. Lookin' top notch there Kevin! Fear not on the blaster. I have completed all the greeblies and the Imperial Cog grip, scope and counter are enroute to my house as we speak! The final CS E-11 will be at your house before Christmas!
  7. PM sent Mark! I can make them in the stunt flat lens variety. Since the material I use has been tempered they wont soften up in order to make bubble lens unfortunately so I'm still researching how to make the bubble variety. I defintely think you should gloss black the SDS! The 501st approved colors for Shadow Stormtrooper tube stripes are blue or dark gray. BUT Scott M. makes a killer set of chrome tubestripes that look totally phenominal. I say chome for the win!!!
  8. The destruction of that guys helmet is probably the best thing that could have happened to him. We should console him by introducing him to TE2.
  9. Swap em out for Vader Daves buttons. They are inexpensive and high quality. Its really the way to go.
  10. Ain't that the truth.
  11. Bring the chest plate down a bit and do something to keep the chest plate from riding up above the abdomen plate. I'd say your almost there tho! It looks like you did a great job on the thighs.
  12. I'm actually tempted to get this kit after the new year and attmpt a ROTJ Elite.
  13. my thoughts would be to make a styrofoam calf to slip around the rod, combine that with some padding in the calf piece and it should be good to go. I'd like to be a part of this if it becomes a project.
  14. I know, and I was in total agreement. Touché
  15. Quoted for truth Ive built 2 CAP helmets and I'm totally impressed with his quality. He has mad skills with a vacformer enabling him to pull the faceplate in a whopping .125 guage HIPS. No thin spots and never a split under the chin. Such a thick faceplate is not offered by any other helmet maker.
  16. slide a razor blade under the edge and peel them off one by one. Then use Mr Clean magic eraser on the adhesive marks till they are all gone. Then apply your new decals. Let the adhesive cure over night and then use Novus on those areas till the white is all shiney again. Its requires a bit of elbow grease but the results are worth it.
  17. Basically is like this. It looks like its worth $80. Are you willing to take an $80 gamble? If you are, then smile and be merry if you like what you recieve. If you dont like what you recieve then you wont have any excuse to gripe. Buying a meatsock really isnt supporting recasting as stated earlier since your purchase will not incite Mr. Meatsock to start pulling helmets again. Now lets talk about your plans for this helmet. You want to make a TX out of a Sand trooper helmet. You will have to do a crap ton of surface prep before you repaint it. A little fact about gloss glack paint...IT SHOWS EVERYTHING. So you are gonna take a notoriously crap helmet that has prolly been beat all to hell and paint it black....good luck.
  18. That sounds like sound advice there
  19. I tell them to leave me alone unless they REALLY want to know what its for. You gotta keep a straight face to pull that one off.
  20. Another thing you can do is separate the cod and abdomen plate and trim about an inch off the top of the cod and then reattach it to the abdomen. That would raise the cod piece up higher and not push the abdomen part higher under your chest plate. The belt will cover the seam and still mantain the proper shape of the codpiece. What is it about having a codpiece discussion with a girl that just seems wierd. EDIT** After rewatching that video, dont do what I just mentioned, I dont think that would look right, prolly best to trim and sand or pad the offending areas.
  21. I think those armor "kisses" where the forearm meets the bicep are pretty much the cost of doing business. I get them every time. I took quite a few car rides this past weekend in armor and yes its difficult getting into and out of the car but once youre in there its not so bad. Looks like you did a great job on the build though!
  22. We have been discussing this on the Georgia Garrison forum recently. I havent tried it yet but from what a few other people are saying an audio insulating product called "Dynamat" is the way to go.
  23. Still recovering from total Halloween chaos.
